I make duplicate new role administrator has name site-admin. how add locking capability to this role?
]]>i just checked this with latest version of wordpress 5.7.2
issue was fixed after deleting this post lockdown plugin
]]>I’ve been working with this plugin for some time and now, suddenly, it stopped working. I’n in WordPress version 5.6.1. Plugin version 3.03. I can’t lock down new posts or unlock those that were locked down before. Any idea?
]]>Hi,
Thank you for this plugin, works like a charm.
I’m using another plugin to style the wordpress admin with CSS. Is it possible to use a css class or something else to add a background color to the locked posts in admin pages (posts lists and post edit pages)?
Best regards
Hi,
This plugin sounds perfect, maybe I’ve missed something, but is it possible to lock/protect the post even for admin (i.e. admin would have to unlock/unprotect it before editing or deleting) or are admins always able to edit/delete?
]]>I have successfully LOCKED a couple of posts. However, I tried to lock PAGES and while it puts them in the list of locked pages, the icon next to the page in the pages list shows an UNLOCKED padlock and the word PROTECTED, instead of LOCKED. I logged in as an Editor and could NOT edit the locked posts but I could edit the “protected” pages. What is going on with LOCKED vs PROTECTED and how can I lock my pages? I am the admin of the site but also setup a new user as an Editor to test this. My testing failed when it came to locking pages.
]]>Still media images can be deleted. How can i resolve this?
]]>Hi there, this plugin seems to do exactly what I need! I’ve created a few wordpress pages that can be used as kind of ‘templates’: the site owner can copy and edit them, to create pages that look the same all the time. I want to protect these ‘template pages’ by locking them.
However, the site owner has administrator rights; she wants to update WordPress, update plugins, and write & publish content.
Would be great to lock pages for administrators too. Is that possible?
]]>Works very well, my only criticism is that private posts/pages should be lockable, ie private posts should appear in the search and results forms.
In order to lock them currently you need to publish them, then lock/protect, and then make it private again.
When you think about it there are times you want to lock something that is not publicly available…
]]>The plugin looks nice… I see the “locked” icon in the column for the post…
But the user is able to “click” Update.. and the post gets updated.
Maybe I am misunderstanding the function of the plugin…
or.. most likely me ??
I was hoping to use this with a popular plugin Events Manager.
Within Events Manger is an option for User Capability…
such that you can control if a use can upload an image, ad a location etc etc…
Contributor, Editor, Subscriber… etc..
Events Manager (User Capability) has a “tick” box for Edit Events.. which must be ticked.. otherwise a user cannot put in the event..
I have my users set at the Level of Subscriber.
I don’t know if Events Manager is overriding your plugin’s user ability to Edit or Update a post (ie custom post type Events) with it’s own User Capability Options.
I allow the user to enter their Event… but then I go back in and add my custom styling etc etc..
And thusly I would like to lock the post/Event after my editing.. because the user always messes it up if they re-edit.
As mentioned… it looks like Events Manage User Capability “Edit Events” may be overriding this plugin.
Any thoughts..
Thanks for your work.. the plugin looks nice.. probably works for “normal” people.
Hi there,
I like the simplicity of this plugin.
When looking at the post listing in the WordPress admin (like in your first screenshot), I think it would make sense to use a prefix for locked pages and protected items.
That would increase the readabilty a lot!
My page name ~ protected
– My Sub Page ~ locked
or like this:
My page name (protected)
– My Sub Page [locked]
This way it would even be a visual difference not only in the word.
Ideal would be an icon and/or color I think.
The words are actually a bit distracting when reading long lists of pages/posts/post types.
Warm regards,
Sebastian
