Hi guys
I,m not an expert, for sure. Just to clarify it 100%:
Are these Hits that the Plugin counts for each Post / Article the sames as views. Is each unit equal to one time someone opened and saw a Post / article
or is must it be divided by the number of files etc etc that the post / article contains ??
Thanks so much
Marco
Hello.
How can I change the number of posts displayed in the dashboard widget?
Hi, I just install this plugin and found a problem that 1 hit will be counted twice.
So if I visit a post 1 time the dashboard displayed 2, 2 times as 4 and so on.
I don’t know how to fix this, please help. Thanks!
I migrated a blog with several thousand posts. I had been tracking those posts on old blog with Post Hit Counter. Is there anyway to port over the hits to the new blog with same content?
Hi Hugh,
When using the shortcode the output contains a string of text along with the view count ‘Views: X’.
Ideally I would like to just display ‘X’ as this will allow me to write my own text to explain that number.
How would I go about removing the text?
Cheers for your help,

Hi
I use the Jannah theme and it has it’s own post views count but allows me use a previously installed counter so I don’t lose counts
BUT I have tried every thing and can’t figure the meta key to use the top 10 views. Can you tell me views meta key
Here is what they say
Post Views Source or meta key
If you have a fresh site copy and want to use the default Jannah views, don’t change the default values of these fields.
If you migrating from another theme to Jannah and want to continue counting on the previous views number, get the views meta key from the previous theme and put it instead of tie_views meta key.
If you were using a plugin that handles your views system before installing Jannah and wants to continue using it, choose “Third party post views plugin” from Post views settings, and get the views meta key from your plugin and put it instead of tie_views meta key.
Can I use this for any page counter? Is your plugin support it?
I see hits in the posts while I see in google analytic there are no entries to the site. The site is new…..
What are the entries I see? Is it spam? How can I make them not show? Maybe install another security plugin? I already installed some.
Thank you
Hi the post hit counter plugin doesnt seem to be compatible with wordpress v5.0.3.
There used to be a refresh button on post edit page but it no longer shows up.
Is anyone else aware of this and are there any plans to find a solution.
The plugin was very useful and i really appreciated using it in the past.
I use the duplicate page plugin which means a new post never has a zero hit count.
On a page that we choose in WordPress to list our blog posts, the posts page, the hit counter doesn’t show. Is there a way to add this function to that page, please?
When I look at the hits column in the posts admin page, I see one number , but the count on the individual page in edit mode shows a much smaller number ?
For example, one post (in admin posts pages) shows 153 hits (completely unreasonable for a new unpublished page only 9 minutes old) but this same post, veiwed in edit mode shows 3 hits.
What is causing this ?
Hi, Is there an option to remove specific user roles from seeing the hits? I would like for only administrators to be able to view the hits.

So my plugins says 3149 hits on a post, while piwik (alternative to google analytics) only has 117..
What happened?
This plugin is great and is almost exactly what I was looking for. I’d like to display the number on it’s own without the word “Views” beforehand. Would that be possible at all?
Thanks for all your hard work and a fantastic plugin!
I would like to disable the hit counter in the admin bar. When I’m logged in to my site on my phone, it still displays and causes my menu bar on my website to be hidden. Just wondering if this could be an option added in the future in the Settings.
Thanks,

I’m running a multi site install of wordpress. The plugin is working for the base site, but it doesnt work for any of the other sites on the network. Is there any tweaks or even future plans to make this plugin work with a multisite setup
Hi!
I’m really glad I’ve found your plugin.
I’ve a question, though. The Hit column in the pages overviews works alright, but the Most Viewed Post widget on the dashboard doesn’t seem to count any page hits. Or does the dashboard widget only counts true posts (instead of pages)?
Is there an easy fix for this?
Thanks!
Kind regards,
Hugo
Hi
Great plugin. Thanks
However, There are options to restrict counts for a variety of visitors like admin, contributor, subscriber, author etc. which all work fine. However, my site is MU and the ‘author’ is actually many authors. Is there a way to restrict the counts for the actual author of the post rather than the ‘author’ as in any logged in users with the role ‘author’? Each user has an id so would it be possible to add a tweak somewhere that says:
if ($author_id == $post_author_id) { yadda { yadda }
?
Maybe a quick function I could add to the theme functions.php file that would do this?
thanks
Oh and an option to NOT display the counter in the admin bar?
many thanks
Hi, I installed post hit counter , and works ??

Views : 8
1.Can I change the word ” views” with the text that I want?

Hello
I’m trying to integrate the hit count into my custom theme. the “short code” [hit_count] is not rendered.
Is there any php function I can call to retrieve the hit count for a particular post ?
something like this : <?php echo post_hit_counter(the_ID()) ?>
is there any plan for something like that?
Hi! I love this plugin, but I have a problem with it.
It shows a lot more hits than Analytics and WordPress. I don’t understand why the plugin counts more hits than the other analytics tools (I already selected which user roles should not trigger the hit counter).
Thank you!
Loretta
Hey mate loving the plugin
How would i sort my posts loop by the hit number?
heres my loop
<?php
$paged = ( get_query_var('paged') ) ? get_query_var('paged') : 1;
$args = array(
'post_type' => array( 'post' ),

Hello!
First of all, thanks for your great job on the plugin.
I’m working on a real estate WP theme and I’ve got the following problem: “Hits” value is correctly shown on Posts and Pages control panels, but not in Properties control panel.
Could you please help me to let the “Hits” value being shown on this panel too?
Thanks in advance

Do they need to be escaped because of this vulnerability?

I note that other hit counters in their overview list that bots are automatically filtered out / not counted, if this is the case with your post counter maybe list it in your overview, otherwise can this be a future feature?
