podpress is now broken on my site, with the error “An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 116 of the file ../wp/wp-content/plugins/podpress/podpress_class.php. Error message: Array and string offset access syntax with curly braces is no longer supported
I have to go into recovery mode and disable it to make the site work. And then all my mp3 links disappear. Any workaround? One would imagine the info is stored in the mysql.

I’m updating an old podcast site built in WordPress using PowerPress. All the podcast episodes were created as Posts. The theme I’m trying to set up is expecting the episodes to be post-type = episode. I’ve installed a plugin (post type switcher) to change post types. However, when I change the post-type to episode, the post disappears from the podcast RSS feed. (PowerPress 8.4.6 and WP 5.6)
I’d appreciate any advice.

]]>I took over an existing podcast that has been running on Podpress 8.8.10.17. I noticed that the stats function was not turned on, and I want to see my download stats. So, I turned it on, and discovered that Podpress has this manual updated required because of incompatibility with past methods of recording stats. Fine.
Problem is, there are over half a million stats records for the podcast. Normally, this would be a pain, but I could work through it doing a little at a time. Thing is, I updated a hundred thousand records, then came back later to find the damn thing is telling me all 500,000 have to be updated, again.
How do I get past this? I can’t see stats until I finish this stupid manual update, but I can’t finish unless I keep at it night and day until it is done.
Anyone got a fix?

]]>A couple months ago the auto detect features for file size and duration stopped working. This caused some of my episodes to show as 1 second in iTunes until I manually added them. The only error it gives is Error: There was a problem with the request – 403.
The ID3 tag info button has the same error.

Im seeing that many just show you how many downloads for the entire WP install and im looking for something that will show me how many downloads per episode right on the episode page?

I am using Podpress to create a feed url that I can use to publish my episodes on Feedburner and later Itunes. After getting the url published with Feedburner I noticed that each of my episode’s titles started with an article number. So sure enough I went into the raw XML file and saw that Podpress had generated title that started that way i.e: <title>[Article 158]The Amazing Spider-Man 2</title>. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I am using Paid Membership Pro to restrict access to certain posts which includes my podcasts. However the podcasts are showing as public when all other text and media in the post is restricted.
I have tried to follow the logic in the general settings and ticked the premium content button and the button on the relevant podcasts but to no effect.

Meantime all the time the people who visiting my site complining that they can’t download the mp3 file – when pressing the “Download” button (or download icon) – the file downloading doesn’t starts! After clicking “Download” the browser opens the new tub with the black background and the player in the middle. It’s same in Chrome and FF; and only IE ask if I want to open or save file.
Could you please to assist me – downloading of the mp3 file to be started when clicking the “Download” button?

]]>Hi, my name is Jim and I run the website soundsofgray.com. I am trying to get my podcast up and running using Podpress and I’m having a little trouble. I uploaded one podcast as an mp3 though the ftp Filezilla. Everything seemed to be in order and I published the post. I quickly logged out of WordPress to make sure my file would play for anyone accessing the site and it worked. However, I asked my partner who helps me with the site to double check my work and he could not access the file. In fact the play button did not appear and when you hit the “play in popup” button, you receive the “file not found” message.
It turned out I was using Google Chrome and he was using Firefox. I tried my luck on Firefox as well and I got the same problem. The same problem occurred using Internet Explorer. In the two browsers I was having trouble with, I accessed the site server and was able to play the file with no problem.
I was wondering how to fix this problem so all browsers can play my audio file using podpress? If anyone could help that would be great. I will say this is my first post to the forms and I have looked up my question but did not find an answer. If for some reason their is already an answer to my question, would someone be kind enough to point me in that direction.

]]>I’ve associated a media file through the PodPress meta box on one of our pages in WordPress. However, the feed doesn’t seem to pull in “pages”…it remains broken (as if no podcast episodes exist)
When I add a media file to a blog post, the feed works. In the “Post Type Filter” option in the PodPress settings for this feed, it displays Posts, and all my custom post types, but does not show “Pages”.
Are pages not supported to generate a feed?

For 50+ episodes plug-in worked fine and inserted summary language in iTunes. Then, without any process change on our part, the entire post started showing up in iTunes (rather than the inserted summary); including entire posts from previous episodes that had been showing the summary correctly.

]]>I used to be able to upload my show and it would update within an hour. I know something must have been tweaked accidentally with TTL as it now takes a good day for iTunes to update. Stitcher on the other hand updates my feed within 30 minutes or so. Any thoughts?

i successfully submitted my pod press feed to iTunes and it was accepted – great!
i then was advised to go via feedburner… however when i submitted the feed burner feed to iTunes it says that the feed already exists (course it does)!!!….
So then i submitted a request for me podcast feed to be removed so i could re submit my feed burner feed. this took a couple of days to be deleted from iTunes – Great!!….
So i can re submit my feed burner feed?…. eerrr no! its still saying that the feed has already been submitted! so what do i do now? do i change my pod press feed and re submit? (I’ve since decided against using pod press…

I work for ZA News, a south african puppet show, and we have created a podcast to diffuse audio and video contents on the itunes store using the plugin PodPress on our wordpress website but it stopped working since january 2014.

More precisely, episode 11 has been uploaded on january 17th and show on the rss feed but the following episode 12 published on january 27th has never shown and now our podcast feed has completely disappeared from the itunes store (you can’t find it by a research). You can nonetheless still suscribe to the podcast feed on itunes or via another rss reader when adding the specific URL but the last update is on january 17th.
We tested our feed with the feed validator website but it notifies only few errors and confirms that the feed is valid.
Can you please help us with that ? Ideally we’d like to keep our suscribers and start again to send weekly our tv show episodes via this podcast.

]]>The download count for all posts on my main page take on the count of the most recent post. It used to show the individual counts for each post and now it just resets when i make a new post. If i go into the categories or into the posts it shows the correct count. This is only an issue on the front page. Help?
