Pirate Forms is no longer under active development. We recommend using WPForms because it is the most beginner-friendly WordPress contact form plugin in the market.
In Sep 2018, Pirate Forms was acquired by WPForms. We’re retiring Pirate Forms in favor of the modern form builder by WPForms, so users can have access to best user experience and more powerful WordPress form features.
This is in regard to the format/layout of the fields in the emails that are sent when forms are submitted. The problem is that the field name columns are not very wide. I’d say they are shrunk way too small, and it’s really bad styling.
In the Settings for this plugin, the Field labels tab is the only section that I think could control the format of the email. However, I don’t see anything that allows for HTML, or any other way to control the view in the email.
I would attach a screenshot, but I cannot. All I can say is that the Name, Email, Subject, etc. – Field names – are not given enough space to breathe, so they are being carried to the next line, like this:
Subj
ect:
Mess
age:
Chec
box:
Where or how can I change this?
Thanks
Contact Form no longer works with version 5.0.1 of WordPress.
Will you propose an update of the extension soon ?
Thank you very much.

Any way to use pirate forms with Google tag manager ?

Hi, I’m using the latest version of both wordpress (4.9.8) and pirate forms (2.44)
and the forms aren’t working on the mobile versions of my site. It tests on desktop in safari, firefox & chrome with no problem. But on mobile I’m just getting “sorry, an error occured.” every time I hit submit. I’ve tried it on my iphone and ipad on safari and firefox and get the same results.
I’m not sure when I last tested the forms on mobile, I’ve been using it for quite a while. I have recently made changes to the website to optimize it, I’ve added the Async Javascript and Autooptimize plugins from Frank Goosens… could they have played caused this error?
I tried rolling back to the 2.43 version and that didn’t fix it, so it’s back at 2.44 now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
David.

I’m using Hestia Theme and the Pirate Contact Form. Unfortunately, the email response that goes to the customer who sends me something is full of html tags (

). How do I clean this up?
Here’s what it looks like:
—— Original Email ——
Your Name : Amy
Your Email : [email protected]
Your message : Testing my new email contact us capability.

I use Zerif Lite and therefore the Pirate Forms contact plugin on a few of my websites and they each have the same issue where having updated my site – a page maybe, but not the theme or Pirate, the spam trap is removed. Once completed I then have to go into the Pirate Forms setting to check the radio button against the spam trap. Then all is well again! It’s not a major issue but nevertheless a nuisance. Clearly something isn’t quite right somewhere, and guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks, Chris

Hi,
Noticed each form field has the class attribute added twice to it, generating invalid HTML.
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="pirate-forms-contact-name" name="pirate-forms-contact-name" class="" placeholder="Your Name"
From what I can tell, it’s added both in the get_common() function from pirate-forms\includes\class-pirateforms-html.php, as well as inside pirate-forms\public\partials\fields\text.php
Normally this is not a problem, unfortunately, it brakes our own plugin TranslatePress since we need valid HTML or it fails. We have a workaround for it, however it’s not something we can activate by default simply because it can have side effects.
Best Regards,
Cristian
Hello, I just noticed that my contact form field labels aren’t visible anymore.
I rolled back two versions to 2.4.2 and it works fine. I’ll stay at that version for now.
Just wanted to let you know.
Thanks for a great form utility!

Hello there,
I am working on a nexw website and trying the PIrate Form which I used to use without any problem. The problem might be that I updated WP to version 9.6.3.
When I try to go to settings, the url shows: https://www.mywebsite./wp-admin/admin.php?page=pirateforms-admin#2
but I can read only the welcome page…
Any thoughts?
Thanks a lot!

Hi.
The sentence I write in the Checkbox section is written on 2 overlapping lines.
The same problem remains even if I go to the head.
You can see in the link to my blog.
How can I solve?
thank you
Hi,
I have set up the Pirate Forms contact V2.4.3 form on a simple wordpress website.
The testing from the back end works (receive confirmation email, and I get the email itself from the form when testing from back end).
However, when I try to use the front end form, emails do not go through, and i get an error:
“Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /customers/8/4/0/treeworld.be/httpd.www/wp-content/plugins/pirate-forms/public/partials/pirateforms-form.php on line 51 ”
I looked into the code of the pirateforms-form.php, at line 51 and tried to figure out. Did not find the issue.
I then rolled back to Pirate forms V2.4.2 and all worked immediately
Any ideas on how to solve this?
– Browser: both Chrome and Microsoft Edge, up to date
– OS: Windows 10
– Server: One.com
– Using PHP function, same issue with SMTP
– WordPress version 4.9.6
– Pirate forms V2.4.3 and V2.4.2
Best,
Pieter
I am not able to get it to work for some reason. Can anyone help?
I am confused about this part: Contact notification email address
What email should I put here?
I have created an email on my domain at (example) admin@mydomain
Should I put that in there? I tried that actually – did not work.
I filled out all the other stuff like usernames and passwords. And I have gotten SMTP emails to work on all my other sites, but maybe I forgot how to get it working using this plugin (new for me) on THIS site….
HELP
Hi,
I recently upgraded from v2.4.0 to v2.4.1 and have been getting issues on the admin pages for some of my other plugins. Some of the issues included things like popups not appearing on button click, modal backgrounds not disappearing on page load, etc.
After reverting back to v2.4.0, these issues disappeared. I’m not sure exactly what’s happening, but there appears to be an issue with bootstrap.min.js when v2.4.1 of pirate forms is installed. When I look at the Console in Firebug, I have the following error in the bootstrap.min.js file when v2.4.1 is installed (which disappears when I revert to v2.4.0):
Error: ‘selector’ option must be specified when initializing tooltip on the window.document object!
Any help would appreciated.
Cheers,
Derek
Hi,
you have an initAll function in your code which conflicts with the function initAll (same name) or all in one seo pack. Please, add a prefix to your JS function to create a unique name or wrap them inside a class. I’m writing to all in one seo pack as well.
Thank you, Stefano.
Hi
I am using Zerif Lite and Pirateforms Free & Simple Contact Form Plugin. The latest version of the contact form causes second-level navigation in the admin of my site to stop working. e.g. I cannot access Quick Edit or Trash in my products list (I use WooCommerce), or if I go to a product page I cannot select General, Inventory, Shipping etc. If I revert to the previous version of Pirateforms (currently 2.4.0) everything seems to be working.
Not a big problem but do you have any ideas? Thanks.

Hi
I’m using the Zerif Lite theme and Pirate Forms but I do not receive the emails that are sent from the webpage. When sending the emails, I receive a message “your email has been sent successfully” on the webpage. When sending a test email, I get the message that the email failed to send. I have SMTP enabled. I have also tried using the plugin Post SMTP. I have checked my spam folder (as well as all other folders in my inbox) but there is nothing there.
Can anybody help me fix the issue?
Hi,
I’ve got a question about the ‘Integrate with Akismet’ function of the Pirate Forms plugin.
How is a message, send through the contact form plugin, determined to be spam by Akismet or; at what moment does Akismet blocks the sending of messages?
After some testing I found out that the sending of a message is blocked after three messages has been send shortly after each other which would be good for me. But I am concerned that Akismet is filtering messages as spam and blocks the sending while it is’nt spam which would be very annoying to visiters.
Best regards
