This calendar plugin is easy to use and has great potential, but the widget form contains a huge bug: when a date is pressed on this widget, the events on that date are displayed, but with a different (incorrect) date above it! This makes the widget unusable. I have reported this bug, but never received an answer, nor was it resolved.
Also, it would be great if you could display an event list with this plugin.

Pie Calendar is an excellent choice for those who appreciate clean code and fast loading times. No styling nonsense or complicated setups—just plug it in, and it works right away. Simple, efficient, and hassle-free. The perfect solution when you need functionality without the extra fuss!

What a great plugin & team. Simple to use, fairly priced, does what’s needed & also provides customization options. On top of this Jonathan went above & beyond by helping me fix some of my code to enable even more customization – which he didn’t have to do.
Outstanding!

Wanted a calendar plugin to add date functionality but keep everything else simple (so avoided the huge, over complicated event plugins) so this was perfect. Hit an issue so contacted support. Got a reply from Jonathan within minutes (and it was a Saturday!) and then got the answers I needed along with a video showing exactly what he did and it now does what I needed perfectly.
Worth every penny for the pro version.

The plugin itself is fairly simplistic and lightweight, which is exactly what I was looking for. Most of the event management solutions have become completely bloated with unnecessary proprietary functionality. Pie Calendar lets me build the way I want – with ACF and CPT.
I had a specific use case for the calendar links that required a customization. The team responded to my request in a few hours and had a solution within a few days. These guys are amazing, and I know that Pie Calendar has a bright future!

The plugin is simple, it does what it says. However, there is no plugin dashboard (a simple page with shortcuts to documentation, shortcodes, etc. would be a plus). The plugin’s translation management isn’t native and can be a bit tricky. You can’t specify if you don’t want the plugin to appear on this or that post/page.
I hope to see improvements in the future as it’s a good plugin.

Simple, fast and flexible. Works with posts, pages, products, CPTs. What else? It can handle recurring events. And since version 1.3.0 also recurring events with individual recurring dates! I just wanted to say THANK YOU.

This plugin is great! It is maybe a little technical if you want some extra features, or to be clear, to use the plugin in a custom way, but it works so great, and developers are ready to help in any way!
Thank you!

Thanks for this simple and effective plugin!

I am pleasantly surprised at how simple and quick it is to get setup with Pie Calendar. I had an existing CPT that I used to plug Pie Calendar into, and it worked perfectly.
Plus, the front end calendar out of the box works fantastic. Their documentation helped me write some quick CSS to style it to match my site and in less than an hour I had it setup and 6 Events added to it.
Kudos to Jonathan & Elijah for a solid event calendar plugin that just WORKS!

I really like this plugin, it does exactly what I want it to do. I really like that I can just create my own custom post types and style them as I like!
It’s working well with Bricks builder for me.
One thing I’d like to see is the option to set the “Show on calendar” to true by default for certain post types. Say I’ve created an “event” post type, I’ll always want that to be shown on the calendar, and it would also be easier to hand off to clients without them forgetting to turn on the switch when adding events.

What Pie Calendar does is give you a simple way to turn any post, page, or custom post type into a calendar event.
This is perfect for websites for live event venues, municipalities, clubs, sports associations, or memberships — basically anything where people need to gather at a specific time.
Of course, there are already a lot of event plugins out there — but if you’ve ever used any of them, you’ll know that “simple” is not part of the equation.
Every time I’ve needed one, I felt like they were all so bloated and inflexible that I’ve opted for creating my own “events” custom post type.
And while that does solve the bloat and flexibilities issues, it always meant that I had to go without any kind of calendar component because it would be nearly impossible — or too costly — to develop that out.
But unlike all those other event plugins, Pie Calendar actually delivers on the promise to keep things simple.
Simply create your post, click the toggle, set the date & time, and bingo — it’s on your calendar.
But just because it’s simple doesn’t mean it’s not powerful…
In fact, this week I had a fairly unique scenario of recurring events and add to calendar links that I wasn’t sure how I was going to pull off — but Pie Calendar knocked it out of the park, no sweat. And, better than that, I had it up and running in just a couple of minutes.
10/10

A client of mine needed a simple way to display events they run in their local community. They didn’t need anything else apart from a calendar with events.
This plugin does exactly that, it’s lightweight, easy to use and support are very responsive.
Highly recommend, 5 Stars from Me – ?????

For many years, I’ve been frustrated by the many calendars available for WordPress. They’ve either been unusable or too advanced and inflexible. That’s why I’m extra excited about PieCalendar because it focuses on being simple and flexible at the same time. For example, I’ve incorporated the calendar into a community plugin, where I’ve customised it to the rest of the setup. In addition, the developers are very open to new ideas and they are very responsive in their support.

Unfortunately, the plugin does not work for older posts unless you add a calendar entry to all your old posts. An impossible task for large websites. Unfortunately, even with good will, the programmers cannot offer a solution to the problem.

Pie Calendar is insanely easy to setup. I feel stupid for overthinking it so much.
Here’s what I love about it:
– I like that it automatically grabbed the font for the website for the month and year text. It didn’t grab all of my other colors, but it was designed to pull as many theme styles as possible. My website is using Oxygen which doesn’t use themes, so it makes sense why some customization is required.
– It’s super easy to install. Here I was expecting some massive “ill have to make custom post types, then I’ll have to figure out a repeater” but nope. Literally, just add the shortcode, then make a post and set the post as an event. This monkey can do that.
– Plus straight out of the box, it looks good. I could leave it as is, and it will fit in the design of my website just fine.
Keep up the awesome work Pie Calendar team!!!

What a fantastic little plugin! I created a CPT called “Events” and needed just something like this to display events in a calendar and list view on the front end. I like how minimal it is too, allowing me to style what I need with CSS. I’ve added this to my site: justmytools.com as part of my stack of choice plugins!

This plugin works right out of the box and the fact that it can be tied to any custom post type is amazing. I can’t wait to see what features the Pro version brings with it!

Nice option to display some dates without the overhead of maintaining a calendar.

Hi, really good plugin. I like it.
Just a one thing that maybe you can fix in next update.
The plugin can’t be translated by Loco Translate so you can’t translate words in front end like ‘starts’ or ‘ends’ for example.
If you can fix this the plugin will be perfect.
Thanks for your job.
Regards.

This brand new plugin JUST WORKS PERFECT! SO easy to use and made with clean code. AND so important: SO EASY to adapt THE LANGUAGE to your local with just adding a word in the shortcode.
Finally someone has came up with a solution with the need of showing calendar on syour site of ANY CPT. A plugin with NO extra options that you will never need and slows down your website.
I Recomend it to everybody! pleasy try. The developers are GREAT PROFESSIONALS as well, so that gives me trust on thats this is solid, and it’s gonna be even more as time goes. Looking forward the pro-version.
Just to let you know, I am using Bricks builder, metabox, no problems. Just install and GO!

I tested this for about 10 minutes. It’s near perfect, the little imperfection that I will mention below is not worth downgrading this plugin from 5 stars, as it is very easy to fix with some simple CSS.
The issue is the color scheme in the calendar as far as the 3 buttons on the top right, the “today” button and the arrow buttons to progress forwards or backwards. The today button is dark with white font color, but on a hover the font also becomes dark, making the text to not show as it’s color blends with the background. The two arrows never show up as their color seems to be the same as their button’s background color. My guess is that you are depending on the theme’s color scheme for the font color back imposing the background colors (I did not check the actual cause yet, just a guess). Nevertheless, I will go ahead and fix the issue with some simple css rules, but not everybody can do this…
Very easy to use, the fact that it can display the excerpt in the popup is awesome, and I can easily use this with my custom ACF Pro projects.
Thanks,
Nick.
