In order to update my website’s PHP version to 8.2, I updated WordPress to 6.5.2 and updated all of the plugins to their most recent versions.
In my announcements page that receives data from the posts section, I use photospace responsive to display a photo gallery.
After upgrading all my plugins, the galleries were no longer displayed and only a loading gif images was displayed.
To sold figure out the issue, I turned off every plugin, one by one, to see if anything changed. When I turned off the photospace responsive plugin, all my images were once again viewable but they were not in a gallery like they originally were.
I decided to lower the version of the plugin from 2.2 to 2.0 to see if anything would change and it did. I restored my gallery to its original state.
What could the issue be?

I am using Lightning and Homemade Themes , BizVektor .
In addition, the same phenomenon has been confirmed for the Japanese TDC theme “GENSEN”.

Both show the same “;” and I am now using 2.09.

I posted this query elsewhere on these forums and was told to post on the photospace-responsive forum. I was also told to delete the plugin in my host’s control panel, but when I did that, all my photo ‘galleries’ broke so I had to restore photospace-responsive. But now again I can’t log into my wordpress admin page.
Thank you
Hi,
I love this plugin. Will you update the plugin address the deprecated jQuery functions?
I think WordPress 5.6 comes out in December.
The helper plugin that is allowing functionality since WordPress 5.5, jQuery Migrate Helper says…
“Right now you are using the Enable jQuery Migrate Helper plugin to enable support for old JavaScript code that uses deprecated functions in the jQuery JavaScript library.
Please note that this is a temporary solution which will only work between WordPress 5.5.0 and 5.6.0 is, and is not meant as a permanent fix for unsupported code.”
Thanks,
Leslie
Before I purchase this plugin, I’d like ot know if the thumbnails can be set vertically beside the picture or on the bottom rather than at the top.

Hello, I have two sites I’ve upgraded to WordPress 5.5. and the large images do not advance. A search found that other galleries have had similar issues. The recommended solution was installing Enable jQuery Migrate Helper.

Good day,
Thank you for this essential plugin.
I haven’t had to add anything new to my site in a couple years, but I tried adding a few more images to a gallery today and I could not get the plugin to grab the correct, square thumbnails. As you can see in the page I linked, the first two images are rectangular and if you look at the coding, it shows that it is re-sizing the original image, which is 600px wide… rather than using one of the automatically generated smaller thumbnail files.
Am I doing something wrong? It seems to grab the correct files for the rest of the old images.
I have tried regenerating thumbnails and have tried different settings in general Settings > Media – making sure that it is selected to crop the image and setting it to 125×125.
And I have the plugin set to 125 for both thumbnail and thumbnail width setting.
I can even see the files through ftp. A 125×125 is available, but it isn’t being used by the plugin.
Is it possible that the plugin is no longer registering its need for a thumbnail with WordPress / the site? I have no idea what I am talking about, but it feels like it’s something like that. I don’t see it in custom thumbnails when using Regenerate Thumbnail plugin…
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
I Auto Play turned on in the settings but it doesn’t seem to be working. I have confirmed that the slide show function itself works by adding the user controls and clicking on play. I quickly swapped in the default theme and that didn’t seem to make a difference, the theme has its own slide show running on the home page so I was expecting a conflict with that.
JetPack is running on the site but all of its image features are disabled.
I have checked error logs and couldn’t see anything in my browser debugger that gave me any hints.
I believe the issue started with the recent WordPress upgrade but can’t say for sure. I had to redo all the plugin settings to even get the gallery to show up on the page. The Auto Play seems to be the only thing now working now.
Any ideas?
Hello,
Thanks for you plugin, it’s the only one who use the native wordpress plugin.
But, is there a way to have a lightbox with this ?
Hi. So, I tried to update this plug-in from an old version and it completely crashed my site. I had to go into the files and delete the plugin. The new version doesn’t seem to work with my site at all and I can’t even get into the back-end of WordPress with it in the plugin folder. Can I get a zip file of a pre 1.17 version? I looked at your Github but, if I’m honest, I have no idea what I’m supposed to do to get the correct files from there. Thanks in advance!
Hi Dean,
Double captions appear when you click on a thumbnail, or advance through the gallery by clicking on the large image. (Only one caption appears when the page first loads, if you play the slideshow, or if you use the arrow key on the keyboard to advance.) Can you fix this?
Thanks for your help!

Hi, I have this useful plugin installed on many client sites. Today I updated two of them from 1.1.6 to 2.0.2 and it broke the gallery. And in Plugins two Photospace Responsive plugins were shown v2.0.2 and v 2.0. v2.0 is inactive, when I delete v2.0 it deletes both versions. (Both sites are running WordPress 5.2.3)
I reverted back to 1.1.6. It is working fine. I see in the changelog 1.1.8 listed as a security update. I don’t recall seeing any Dashboard update notifications, until this one for 2.0.2.
Where can I find 1.1.8? Can you make it available in Advanced View, Previous versions?
Many thanks!
Leslie
Can you inform us if the plugin is being actively maintained still? It was last updated 2.5 Years Ago. This length of time between updates is concerning, given the number of active installations that it has.
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I was running the shortcode [photospace_res] and it was working good until very recently. I’m not sure if something has changed or it is not supported anymore?
I need to use it instead of the [gallery] shortcode because of a conflict with another gallery plugin.
Thank you
Hello,
I am having a problem getting Photospace responsive to work with HTML5 Blank theme. (I have created a child theme)
When the page loads, the thumbnails load but the main image is not displayed, I just get the animated loading bar. The
does not appear to be loading any content.
The plugin works correctly if I use the 2015 theme so I wonder if the problem lies with the theme I am using.
Is there a known issue with Photospace in HTML5 Blank or have I done something wrong?
Hi, the galleries are not displaying in slideshow format when logged in. When logged out, the thumbnails and slideshow displays. When logged in, if you go to that page, it’s showing the default 150 x 150 thumbnail images. If we log back out the thumbnails and slider appear. Is this normal behavior?
Hi.
As the image is still hidden by script, had the idea that maybe then these hidden images to load as query (click on the image or thumbnail) ?
Like this should result in increased page load speed and reduce the number of initial requests.
Thank you
Hi – I wanted to know if there was an add on or a way to add social sharing buttons to each of the galleries? Currently when there’s a social sharing button (using a different plugin for social sharing) on the page it does not directly share or link back to that page where the image or gallery is landed on, it goes to the blog post which is just text. Would someone be able to add this into the plugin? or if there’s documentation to show how?

Do not set the Number of thumbnails, and automatically display as many as will fit in one line!
Please, do this!!
The maximum size of the photo set 1024х683/
And while they fit the width everything is fine.
But if you reduce the screen resolution landscape photos begin to decline
the image information “dimension:911px x 683px (scale 558px × 419px)”, a portrait not yet “dimension: 512px x 683px”. As a result, when viewing the gallery the bottom edge of the photo starts to jump for portrait and landscape photos. Could you solve this problem?
Hello, I am using this plugin on a few gallery pages. I have a Portfolio page that is using Jetpack Tiled Galleries. Photospace is conflicting and is removing the tiled gallery and replacing with the the Photospace slider. How can I used the Jetpack Tiled Galleries with this plugin? Or will I need to remove it and find another option. Thanks.
Hello,
I was using Photospace regular on my website. I’m re-designing my website so it’s responsive. So, I’m using Photospace Responsive now.
In the regular Photospace plugin, my image captions respected the line breaks. In the responsive plugin, all the line breaks on my captions have gone.
Compare these two pages:
https://www.lisicontemporaryart.com/avati-mario/ (non-responsive)
https://www.lisicontemporaryart.com/dev/avati-mario/ (responsive)
I’ve checked around and all I keep seeing is that I’d need to manually go to Media > Edit and add
for every caption where I want line breaks. I have hundreds of images and this would take a long time.
Why did the breaks work fine in Photospace regular and not Photospace Responsive?

Hi,
First of all I would like to thanks for great plugin.
Recently WP upgraded to 4.4.2 and on one of my site I noticed that photos in gallery are all having the same dimensions – 350×500. No mater what I did, gallery would not get proper sized image. Regenerated, adjusted, even deleted all photos from gallery and upload them again.
Than I noticed, that in setting of gallery dimensions won’t change no mater what numbers I put in. Even if they are changed directly in database. After some hours I found the bug. In main php script of gallery I fond this:
$options[‘max_image_height’] = ‘500’;
$options[‘max_image_width’] = ‘600’;
Changing the string values in int resolved my problems. I hope this helps you anythig..
Best,
xaxill
