This plugin saved my life. Mistakenly changed my permalink from post-name to one’s that has dates. and Google has picked it. I reverted back the mistake and this plugin helped to redirect the urls with date to the post-name urls

Honestly, I am really impressed.

In case you do have issues with PHP7, find and replace the
mysql_real_escape_string for esc_sql
You’ll be fine after that.

Like others.
I switched my permalinks structure from date/postname >> postname
and all the links go corrupted.
So this plugin saved me.
I had donated him for the minimum amount.
Note : The plugin creator does not update it anymore. Use it at your own risk.
But it’s still great tho.

The vendor has stopped maintaining the plugin.
What he wrote in the comments section on his own site:
]]>The simple solution is to uninstall permalink finder. I do not support it and haven’t for over three years. It is the first plugin that I ever wrote and it is not the easiest plugin to maintain.

best plugin!

I have used this plugin for over 2 years on several sites. Best solution I have found for serving up pages when permalinks are changed or switching from other page extensions (.shtml, .aspx, .html, etc…).
Thank you for the awesome plugin.

no problems running this in 4.2.2 even though plug-in has not been updated in a long time.
this is a great way to ensure that no links break after editing your permalink structure. all URLs changed but none broke. easy.

It works like a miracle. One day suddenly all my internal links led to 404 error. i struggled a long time reading all those forums and tinkered with my .htaccess file, permalink settings and whatnot.
All came to a naught, until I found Permalink Finder! Thank you!

The application is very good. I use it recently on my site (onlain-filmi.net) and am very satisfied. I recommend it.

I transferred from Blogger to WordPress about two years ago. I have had so many broken links since then. I’ve used the Redirection plugin faithfully, but it required a lot of manual input. I seriously was getting 1,500 404s a day, sometimes more. Today, I got 8 on the smartphone and 1 ONE! on the desktop. Thanks for an awesome plugin.

I just decided to change the permalink structure from category/post to just the post name, after having had VintageReveries.com up since 2011.
I have a TON of posts.
This plugin is easy to use, and correctly redirects my old pages to the new ones.
I probably could have done this manually in the htaccess file, but this was a quick and easy fix.

creates loops all over the place and crashes my server.
Good concept.
Poor execution, and no time being put into fixes or support.
Avoid

This great plugin solves the huge problem when moving large websites with thousands of articles to WordPress but with different website structure. You don’t need to create thousands of redirects in case you articles slug stays the same, just install this plugin and that’s it! Respect to author and many thanks.

Permalink Finder is essential if you make any changes to permalinks in a WordPress site by redirecting visitors to the updated permalink location. It’s been very helpful to me.

I have tried working with other redirect plugins—404 Redirected is a great one for logging and managing 404 errors and permanently redirecting them—but what we really want is No 404s to begin with! If you have a simple site especially, without hundreds of unique blog post titles, this is the simplest way to avoid 404s from typos and small url changes.
I heart it.

A great plugin, This plugin still works like charm. Thanks a ton This plugin helps to stream line my blog, which I keep on changing the style and link formats.
I am getting error when trying to access a nonexistent page Notice: sanitize_url is deprecated since version 2.8! Use esc_url_raw() instead. in /wp-includes/functions.php on line

I agree with mhannigan, this plugin belongs in the WP core. It has always worked flawlessly on my sites (since v3.4.2) and covers so many link errors and omissions.
Until it’s included as part of the core, I strongly recommend this as a necessary plugin!

This plugin SHOULD be included in the WordPress code base. There is no reason NOT to have this plugin. It proactively resolves many potential problems with permalinks, changing permalink structure, and incorrect search engine indexing of permalinks. There was a time (up until about 15 minutes ago) that if a sitemap was submitted to Google with a few thousand incorrect permalinks and you resubmitted it correctly, it could still take DAYS to crawl those bad links, give you a huge report of crawl errors to resolve and then finally index the correct ones that you submitted immediately after. Now, everything in between is eliminated. From what I’ve seen so far, I could submit a sitemap with ANY permalink structure, change the structure on my site to something ENTIRELY different, and this plugin will not only prevent me from getting crawl errors, but will allow the correct page to be indexed and/or send the user to the correct page, almost magically. Before this plugin, a broken link could sit on page one of a search result for weeks and be useless to me. Now, there is no such thing as a broken link. I LOVE this plugin. It’s a MUST have!
