This plugin is exactly what I want

This is a really useful plug in. The one thing I really would like to have at my disposal from the off would be the ability to edit the widget title (e.g. “PPS-page-slug” makes it slightly less user friendly in my view) and perhaps a note in Widget admin to say which widget is being replaced.
Great stuff though!

I run a site for a large organization, with a child theme based on Thematic. I use the main menu for site-wide navigation. Then I use Per Page Sidebars to put department-specific custom menus in Primary Aside. Very handy in conjunction with plugins that let you limit who can edit which pages and menus, such as Role Scoper or Press Permit.

This was just what I was looking for. It lets me give each individual page (or post!) its customized sidebar. Thatnks for creating the plugin!

Very useful plugin for more complex websites. Works well with WP pages, but would be much more useful if it could utilize custom post types as well.
I haven’t disabled it yet, but it definitely shouldn’t wipe clean the previously configured widgets. Especially with text widgets utilizing JS or PHP this could lead to losing a lot of work. Please fix if this issue is replicable!

Works like a charm… until you deactivate it. Upon turning it back on all custom sidebars were wiped clean. ??

However it would be great if you could make this work on custom post types too. ??

Would be great if author could in fact add proper custom post type support!

This is great for specific needs if you’re only needing to change the sidebar on Pages and not Categories, Archives, Author pages, etc. What it does, it does very well, I just subtracted one star as I would like to see it a little more robust in order to make changes to additional areas of the site. If it could do that, I’d give it five.

I use this widget together with the “Flexi Page Widget” which make a wonderful combination. With “Per page widget” you can decide what widgets to show on a page. For each of the Main Sidebar, Showcase Sidebar, Footer Area One,Two and Three you have choices of Show, Hide or Special and for Special you have an edit button taking you to the widget settings page. here you can drag and drop whatever widgets you want to show on the page, In my case i use the “Flexi Page widget” showing all the sub pages of my parent pages as links in my widget area so that customers can easily link to other pages. i can also choose which pages are shown as links and which ones are hidden. Extremely customizable ! very practical when combined with other custom widgets.
