Hi, we added de Gutenberg PDF Viewer Block. Now opening teh Widget memenu we get the error”:
[03-Feb-2023 12:32:59 UTC] PHP Notice: Function wp_enqueue_script() was called incorrectly. “wp-editor” script should not be enqueued together with the new widgets editor (wp-edit-widgets or wp-customize-widgets). Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 5.8.0.) in /data/sites/web/gfd-roemenienl/subsites/test.gfd-roemenie.nl/wp-includes/functions.php on line 5835
What should we do to get rid of this message. The viewer works fine.
Best regards,
Bert
Is there an option to set the default viewer scale? Similar to “PDFjs Viewer – Embed PDFs” option for automatic, page fit, 100% etc settings,
I’d have switched to their plugin but their pinch to zoom on mobile is not working…
Hi There,
I’m using the “PDF Embedder” plugin (which I installed), and I believe that it must have also installed the “Gutenberg PDF Viewer Block” plugin (since I don’t remember installing this second plugin).
The page-loading speeds throughout the website are fast…
However, the page-loading speeds on these 3 pages are very slow – and these are the pages which are displaying PDF’s:
https://pickardcorp.com/reference-letter/
https://pickardcorp.com/terms-and-conditions/
https://pickardcorp.com/privacy-policy/
The speed test I am using on these 3 pages is PageSpeed Insights
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/
When I do a speed test on these 3 pages, the slow speeds are ONLY on mobile; and the speeds on desktop are fine.
The test results show what is causing the slow speeds on mobile, but I’m not a programmer and I’m not sure how to fix it.
Obviously, these slow speeds are being caused by the “PDF Embedder” plugin and/or the “Gutenberg PDF Viewer Block” plugin, since these are the only pages on the entire website that have slow page-loading speeds on mobile.
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to improve the page-loading speeds for these 3 pages on mobile, while continuing to use the “PDF Embedder” plugin and/or the “Gutenberg PDF Viewer Block” plugin?
FYI, I’m also using the “Asset Cleanup” plugin, which allows me to go into each web page and turn off any code that is not being used in order to increase the page loading speeds.
Perhaps there is some code related to these two plugins that I can turn-off on these 3 pages to improve the page loading speeds?
Any ideas or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Warren
Hello,
Is it possible to load a pdf from an external location (i.e. Google Drive) instead of Media Library?
Thanks!

Version 0.2 allowed the extension to work in ELEMENTOR by simply copying the HTML code. Since version 1.0 this is no longer possible. A solution?
It would be impeccable because the extension is light, fast and free !!
THE BEST!
Thank you
The PDF Viewer block crashes when using Windows 10 pro or home and the current stable microsoft edge browser,
Microsoft Edge

The page returns the following when accessed:

Microsoft Defender SmartScreen”
Block works properly if executed in current Chrome browser
Version 89.0.4389.90 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Is there anyway to make this plugin show the first pages of the pdf before it load the whole file pdf?
Guess that would make the preview more faster. because now, the user have to wait for the whole pdf to load so he can see it. which cause more waiting.
Please guide me.
Thanks in advance
Bonjour Jean-Baptiste,
Bien cordialement,
Inès

Hi,
can I use it with Elementor ? Because I don’t find any button “add PDF” or other in the building page’s administration ?
Thanks for your support !
Have been using your plugin for last couple of weeks and works well, however I’ve just recently tried displaying pdf’s using Elementor Page builder, but I can only find to do so is possibly via a shortcode?? IS this possible??
Thank you and look forward to your response.
Hi @audrasjb
I would like to suggest that your plugin allows selecting the desired alignment and width, in the same way that it can be done with an image.
This way, its height could be also responsive.
Please, let me know your thoughts. Thanks for reading! ??
Hi @audrasjb
Thank you very much for your flawless plugin.
I would like to hide both download and print buttons. It seems that if the HTML attribute “hidden” is in the button, besides the current ones, it becomes not visible.

How can I add this HTML attribute to the code?
Is that an option you would like to implement in your plugin?
Many thanks for reading.
I noticed that when the plugin embeds the pdf, there is no anchor text to the link.
The link looks like this:

Is there a way to add anchor text? Perhaps another option to add (in addition to width and height)?
That would be great. Thanks for the great plugin.
Using the Plugin I have problem with permission.

You don’t have permission to access /wp-content/plugins/pdf-viewer-block/inc/pdfjs/web/viewer.html on this server.
I will be glad if you can resolve this
thank you
I have an “End plugin test” link embedded in my pdf that links to my home page URL: https://pointsintime.com/.
Instead of taking the user from the pdf page (like the page menu item “Home” does), the embedded link merely brings the homepage into the PDF window (iFrame?)
How can I alter the embedded URL link to actually leave the PDF page and return to the home page, or some other external page?

I have a PDF of storyboards on my server that is easily opened by Browsers and the WordPress plugins Wonder PDF, Real3D and PDF Embedder.
However, the Gutenberg PDF viewer block and the plugin PDF Light Viewer both give an error message of an unexpected server response (0) while retrieving the PDF.
I’m looking for a fix to allow me to use the Gutenberg PDF viewer, so I can see if it does a better job of displaying the PDF on mobile than the other plugins. (I’d rather not ask people to use a mobile app to open the PDF.)
First, this plugin works wonderfully with my google chrome browser both on my desktop and mobile devices, as well as with Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer. However when I open a page that uses this plugin using Microsoft Edge, the plugin “window” is filled with a red screen and the message “This Website Has Been Reported As Unsafe.” Checking in on the details of the issue, the message seems to be generated by Windows Defender SmartScreen, and directly references the plugin as the issue.
I went through the process of notifying Microsoft that I believe this plugin and my website is safe, however I also wanted to notify the developers here that this seems to be an issue.
Again, it only seems to be an issue with the Microsoft Edge browser and no others.
1. Plugin link [https://www.whodunit.fr/gutenberg-pdf-viewer-block] to ‘Plugin website’ on the Details page gives 404
2. Getting ‘Forbidden’ message on Android and iPhones from the block itself. Displays ok in a Classic block.
Hello, nice plugin you have here. But, please, how can I disable the download button/link? I don’t want it to show on embedded pdfs. Thank you.
