A simple plugin that works wonders! Thanks a lot!

Great plugin, no longer functional, supported or maintained.

Why the plugin is not deleted by author?

Initially I didn’t think this was working. I found that it worked perfectly when I uploaded a new pdf as opposed to using one already in the media library. Thanks for this!

great time saver

Very impressed with how quick and easy it was to get up and running with the generated pdf views.

Good job

What a great plugin. Thank you for creating it.

Worked out of the box for me – I had to re-upload a couple of PDFs to get the thumbnail. I’ve only given 4 stars because I think it might be interfering with downloads. But I’m not sure it is! Need to fiddle with a few settings.
Basically, it inserts a snapshot of your PDF in exactly the same way as an image ??

This plug-in does the job exactly as you would expected. Should become part of WordPress core. Great support by the developer.

Also ties in really nicely with the media uploader, the image is set as the ‘icon’ field of the attachment, as one would want. PS The feature for generating images for existing pdfs is at the bottom of the settings – scroll down to see (unlike me the first time)!

Super-smart methodology.
Efficient, transparent, and good logging/reporting.
Looking forward to more granular control in settings.

Super nice plugin if only colors was coming out right. I find that the plugin generates images with much to high saturation ??

I’m migrating from an older script into WordPress on a website where we have to publish one PDF file per day.
This plugin helped me getting rid of 8 (EIGHT) tedious tasks when publishing a PDF file on my webpages:
1) Open the PDF file;
2) Capture a screenshot;
3) Resize it to thumbnail;
4) Save the thumbnail file;
5) Rename the thumbnail file;
6) Upload the PDF file to server;
7) Upload the thumbnail file to server;
8) Insert thumbnail in webpage;
9) Link thumbnail to PDF file;
10) Save the page.
Now I only have 2 (two) tasks to do:
1) Upload the PDF file to WordPress;
2) Save the page.
I only had some issues relating ImageMagick PHP library, as it has a bit of learning curve but that is not the fault of either the author or the plugin itself. If you try this in a XAMPP in a Windows machine environment, be aware that you must learn well about ImageMagick installation or have someone by hand who could help you set it up. In a Linux machine, things seems to be much easier to set up (in my case, it was).
The author does an excellent job on support. Pretty impressive his effort to reply every single support and suggestions that we can view here in the plugin support forum, so I definitely have to rate this plugin with a high rating of 5 stars.

Does exactly what I was looking for. A real time-saver.

Just what I needed. I don’t have to give boring pdf links anymore. Thank you.

Excellent plugin that does exactly what it says on the box.

I have been hunting for a solution to PDF files for several sites. There are many ways to create an image file from a PDF but all of them are multiple steps and not easy for non-tech types. This plugin does it all and with easy WordPress API that users have come to expect.

Thanks for the plugin.
It seems to work, but I have some complex pdfs that may be giving it trouble because the thumbnails it generates are colored very oddly: https://pbrd.co/1Cdn3vG
So far, your plugin has come the closest to what I am looking for. It’s simple and light-weight. Thanks for sharing it and I hope to see more updates and positive reviews!
