When I am trying to add my credentials, it’s asking for Security Key, not Touch ID or Face ID. Why?

I am trying on iPhone 8. iOS14.3

I set this up successfully for my account – using Safari on Big sur.

When trying to login, I selected my account from the Passwordless list at the top of the login screen. It prompted for my fingerprint, which I provided. It then cycled back to the same login screen with no progress. I tried again but it did the same.

Have I missed something here?

I love the idea of this plugin but it doesn’t seem to work very well. It constantly shows errors in technical language or red text that is offputting to users, and literally every time I try to log in the first time, it says “Bad nonce” and reloads the page, after which it either works or gives another red error if the fingerprint read failed. If I try it in an incognito window it doesn’t give the option, which is fine since I assume it’s cookie-based, but instead it shows a “Secure context are required. You must have HTTPS and SSL enabled” notice even though the site is on HTTPS, and doesn’t make clear that it has anything to do with passwordless login, so to the user it just looks like there’s some random problem and tells them to use a supported browser. Not to mention that it doesn’t seem to integrate with the login form, or the login pages for plugins like WooCommerce.

Is this plugin in active development/maintenance? Is this the best place to post about bugs like this? The concept is great but the UX needs serious help, so I’m wondering if it’s just an experimental thing or if it’s an actual maturing plugin…

With Passwordless Login plugin, I am trying to find if users attempted successfully to login. I checked code website, but couldn’t find any wp_passwordless… tables created. So how can I find the details.

With this plugin, the wordpress admin console for users shows nothing for last logged in or # login details.

Plugin doesnt seem to be working as it kept giving me user handle not found despite my name coming up in the list and my credentials been saved and added. Can you tell me why is this the case?
