Make sure to check “Disable Page Comments Please” –
for pages to be created in the future.

And, if desired, click the “Toggle Page Comments Off Please” link –
for pages created in the past.

Don’t quite understand the single star reviews.

On version 4.1.1 (straight out of the box and with no themes or other plugins added) I installed this and find it doesn’t do anything.

There is no control on the Page Editing screen to turn comments on/off and when a new page is posted the comments box is available for anyone to post comments.

I can only presume that the five star reviews are from those who’ve used this plugin on an older version of WP (or I’m being a right idiot and missing something obvious).

this plug in is great, all i had to do was intall it, and check two boxes to disable the comments in all my site.

With how much the use of WP has spread over the years, its use as an exclusive “blog platform” is a thing of the past. Back then it made sense to think that you wouldn’t need a setting like this. After all, how many pages did you need to create that you couldn’t turn this off manually, right? But now, with WP being used for ANY kind of site, this should be part of the core. Yes, it’s that important.

I can install this and prevent the sites I manage from accidentally including a comment form on pages. Disabling page comments used to be a pain, now it’s easy. If I have pages with comments on them already, I can click a single link to toggle them off instantly.

This plugin automatically turns off page comments without any trouble. Great for creating a CMS.
