It seems clear that this plugin has been deserted. As far as I can see, it’s still working OK on my sites but I’m uneasy to be using a deserted plugin in case it has security flaws. Two questions:
1) anyone from the authors/owners want to clarify the status (if not, in a week or two, I think we can assume it really has been deserted)
2) anyone got any advice: alternatives? Offers to take it over (I like it: it seems to be simple and to just work, that makes it almost my ideal plugin!)
TIA,
Chris
]]>At first, everything was fine.
Recently I’ve been testing the share buttons more often, and it seems that the Pinterest button is not working correctly in Chrome. After selecting a picture on a post it says “more undefined” and “whoops, empty URL” after a while.
It seems to be working fine in Internet Explorer and Firefox – Chrome appears to be the only problem.
]]>Pluggin used to work well and we loved it! Now, suddenly (but I don’t know when it started), each of the share buttons merely opens the same page or post in a new tab. The site is https://philosophyteachers.org. I deactivated all the other plugins and tried a different theme–still the problem persists. This site is running WP 4.7.4 and pluggin version 3.5.6; I have another site with same problem, running WP 4.8
When working, this plugging was much better than the others, in terms of doing what we need and offering flexibility without any bloat.
Any help you can be in resolving the issue will be greatly appreciated.

The social sharing icons used to appear after the main content of each article on my page.
Suddenly, only the sharing text appears. I haven’t changed any part of my template, and I tried viewing it on multiple browsers (including mobile), with no luck.
Can someone help me with this?
]]>Hi,
When I share too Twitter or LinkedIn (Facebook & Pinterest work fine) the HTML code isn’t stripped/removed from the Title etc. Any ideas how to solve this?
]]>Hi there,
Loved the plugin and it was working perfectly when I initially installed it. However, I’ve recently discovered a couple of problems:
– Pinterest is only pulling up header images, not content images.
– Email share button not working at all.
Here’s a link to a page on our site:

Hope you can help me sort this out.
Thanks,

]]>Hi, thanks for such a great plugin!
I read an old topic regard placing the icons on the top of a post.
However in my case my theme setup doesn’t allow me to create extra widgets.
What would be the changes to place the social icons at the top of posts instead of footer?
]]>Hi @osdwebdev
Your plugin is very useful generally, except in some cases. For example, I use WP Ideastream and its post-type is recognized but NOT in buddypress groups.
Are you planning to give us a php function to insert in templates?
The shortcode is useless in my case, because the idea-posts will be written by the group users and not by me. And users like sharing things by clicking buttons and not by writing code.
While it is one of the best plugins for sharing and I like it very much, this limitation is a real problem for me.
Regards
]]>You need to add an isset on line 57 in post_settings.php.
$val = ( isset( $_POST[‘osd_remove_sms_icons’] ) && $_POST[‘osd_remove_sms_icons’] == 1 ) ? 1 : 0;
Without it when editing a post it would display an error with an undefined index: osd_remove_sms_icons.
]]>When trying to share to Twitter or to email, quote marks in the post title end up looking like this in the tweet or email subject line: All about “Romeo and Juliet ”. Is there some way to fix that?
]]>Hi,
i am using 3.5.4 on my site and on a https Testsite it shows, that the Pin It Button is loaded via http in mixed Content. I thought that was resolved, but is it really or can i somehow set this up in any options?

EDITED: Sorry for the original post title, that was meant for a different plugin…..glad I caught it and was able to edit. ??
This is a great plugin, wondering if you’re open to a few suggestions?
1. Allow site admins to disable the on-post metabox for individual post settings for sharing – I run several multi-author blogs and I don’t want post authors to be able to check that box and disable sharing….sure I can ask them not to, but you know how people are.
2. Allow users to remove the default “to” address for email….it isn’t necessary and if someone is not paying attention and send the email with that in there it will bounce. Clearing the box doesn’t work, it comes right back. I can hack the plugin, but I hate doing that – an option to remove it would be much nicer.
3. Allow for the ‘sharing label’ to be blank also. In my theme I don’t want to use that label and instead have added a graphic and some padding so my “share with your friends” graphic displays nicely. I can ‘hide’ your label with CSS, but again having the option to just leave the box blank makes more sense. Like the email default address, clearing the box does not work because it comes back when saving.
I truly think it’s a great plugin and worth 4 stars, fixing these small things would make it a 5-star plugin, it’s just a tiny tweak that gives your users a bit more control and flexibility.
Thanks for considering this.
]]>Hi,
The images generated by the plugin don’t have any ALT attribute so it would be nice if we could set up one in the admin section, for each image.
Right now the W3C validator shows errors for the social thumbnails and I had to use regular expressions as a workaround.
Thanks
]]>Hi there
To my surprise the buttons do not show up in the blog.
I have 4 categories in this website and they work fine in the others. So I am puzzled………
Yes I have checked whether the box ‘do not share osd buttons’ is ticked, but it is not.
Could you help me out why?
Kind regards
JvanBavel
I installed this with high hopes from the reviews but unfortunately out of the box it doesn’t work.
In fact, does nothing, ALL the share buttons simply go to # which opens up a new tab and reloads the page itself, nothing is being shared, so what gives?
Also, why isn’t tumblr in there while Linkedin which is utterly useless is there, makes no sense. I know you can add custom, that option is there but having to deal with finding the share API for every service and hoping it sets up right lacks stability, it would be much more useful for it to be in the plugin by default. It is certainly more useful than Linkedin and that’s there.
Please advise, I really want to like this plugin that’s why I am trying to fix it instead of giving up.

Hello, I can′t share most articles of my blog https://www.linke-wange.de. When I try to share it′s said: the content of this page no longer is available or the link doesn′t exist. What′s wrong and how can I change this?

]]>Hi,
So far great plugin but the Pintrest share button does not work. I know other plugins with similar function works fine but I rather use your plugin.
Can you see what is causing the issue and how to fix it? All the other social media share buttons are working fine. Just only Pintrest is the problem.

]]>Hello, in my newest article of my page https://www.linke-wange.de/den-feind-lieben the sharing link to the facebook page doesn′t work. FB says, the page can′t be found. Sharin other articles is successfull as well sharing on Twitter or google+. Any idea?
At the moment I have disabled OSD Sharin and activated another sharing plugin, that works.

]]>Solved, Please ignore. Sorry!
]]>How do I remove the “Share This” label. When I delete the text from the box in settings it reappears on save.
]]>I would like to remove the “to” email address from the email icon. If I delete the “[email protected]” on the admin page, it repopulates automatically on save.
If I make a custom row with the url mailto:?subject={{EMAIL_SUBJECT}}&body={{EMAIL_BODY}}, it opens a new browser window in addition to the mail program window. I guess the default is target=”_blank”, and that works less well for emails.
I can erase the “[email protected]” in the plugin files, but I don’t want the change to disappear if the plugin updates.
Do you have any ideas, or do you have any plans to have the email “to” box empty by default in future versions of the plugin?
]]>I used the shortcode to add the buttons at the bottom of my post, so they’ll also show up in the archives under each post. This way the buttons display with the posts when they are displayed on my main page. Unfortunately, when you click on one of the buttons, it points people to the main page instead of to the post it was displayed on. Is there any way to change this behavior? Someone who clicked on those buttons would be wanting to share that particular post.
]]>I’d like to add “via @my_twitter_username” to the sharing dialog for twitter. How can I do that?
]]>Hi there – I know others have had this problem and I’ve checked those responses but still can’t figure out the solution – the sharing icons are not showing on my posts in Chrome (they are displaying, but look quite pixelated, in IE). The ‘Share:’ text is showing…
See page example here: https://www.thefreeborntimes.com/baby-got-evolution
I have the latest version of the plug-in installed.

Hi, thanks for this excellent plugin!
I have a little problem though with the title parsing in french language.
If I share a post to twitter, linkedin and by mail the plugin can’t parse the title correctly.
Screenshot of a post: https://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=643152titlebadparsing.png
Screenshot of the share to twitter: https://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=765048titlebadparsing2.png
Is it possible to find a solution to that problem?
Thanks in advance
The plugin works on Firefox and Chrome, but on Internet Explorer (11.0.96.00.17959) it doesn’t work right. The images are not showing up correctly and when I click on the image, it just opens up a new page of the same blog post. It won’t share like it is suppose to.

Again, these problems are only on Internet Explorer.
