i found three error for version 4.1
1. wrong path file causing not found for required js
2. cookie expire always “days + 1 year” not only the “days” that should be
3. the script using mousemove not beforeunload to detect page exit

I’m using plugin to open external links in new tabs, but I would prefer them to open in “popup”.

I originally installed this as 4.0 on my site and then turned it on… it has a bugmeplease method of asking for a newsletter subscription so you can get an endless stream of mindless information … marketing jaded opinions aside… the plugin at 4.0 on wp3.3.1 didn’t work for me so I went to the developers blog and it was recommended to downgrade to see if that version worked. I downloaded the earlier version and installed. It worked a treat and I really enjoyed its functionality! Thanks for the download option Mr Developer!

Until recently it worked a treat until I had to re-install all my plugins after a plugin went awol cracking my site. When I re-installed the 2.x version it asked me to instant upgrade to 4.1 which had the fun bugmeplease email list no choice but to join option. I entered my spammail addy and then got access to my settings for the plugin only to find that when updated it didn’t work at all… highly disappointing. Just now I attempted to re-install the earlier version by direct download and upload only to find that it reports ‘no valid plugins found’ when attempting to install the earlier version. Don’t know if that is because its been coded to invalidate to force everyone up to the bugmeplease version.

I love this plugin… when it works… I hope that it can be fixed.

Not working! +I had to sign up for a mailing list which I have no interest in. (Even after I deleted all plugins that could cause issues with this one, still nothing happens.)

I’m using OptinPop plugin and it works well. I have it set to “on exit” so the popup window appears when leaving the site. My issue is that the popup happens when you hover the mouse outside the border of the website, which doesn’t necessarily means that the user is trying to leave the site.. I would like the popup only to happen when the user CLICKS away from the site (type new url or click “back” to an external link). Is this possible.

Any help is appreciated.

Nothing happened besides being forced to join up for a mailing list

Well first of all the optinpop website is like the worst website I’ve visited for years. If you’re showing as much adds for your stuff, noone is going to pay you.

Second the plugin has virtually no otions at all, so be prepared to loose many readers if you really use it.

Should offer support for only showing on custom pages, or only showing when clicking on a link (and then for that damn specific link having a specific page to show in a lightbox).

Other plugins are way better, well and actually work too. OptinPop did not work on my site, but how it worked and the minimal options was enough for me to write this topic here.

Pretty angry about the cr*p they did, otherwise I wouldn’t even bother (ain’t the first plugin that does not work for me, but the most annoying since I started with WordPress 3 years ago).

I dislike plugins that do not let you know upfront that it will only work with registration. This is not an optin plugin it is a forced in plugin – since you can’t get it to work unless you register with the site.

Loaded plugin and set according to instructions. It does not show. Using WP3.01 and TwentyTen theme.
