]]>Hi,
any one can help me setting my open book cURL rules to connect with openlibrary:
Host: openlibrary.org

I’m a simple user of the plugin, and when searching the book I just receive a blank menu without the insert and preview buttons.
Thank you if any one can advise me on this.
]]>When the shortcode is inserted into a post it causes wordpress to break when creating HTML for browser. I know this since everything behaves normally when plugin is deactivated; PLUS only posts with shortcode are mal-formed – posts without shortcode are normal [when plugin active].
Also deactivated all other plugins and switched to 2014 Theme and got same result: pages with shortcode are mal-formed in browser.
I am using the latest version of the plug-in and deleted old version before installing new.
currently using WP 4.7.5; I will upgrade WP to latest version and post if any changes.

]]>When I activated the plugin on my site, I get the error message “The plugin generated 112 characters of unexpected output during activation. Any ideas?
]]>I just upgraded my plugin to Version 3.5.1 and it is giving the following site notice in the admin area:
Notice: has_cap was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 2.0! Usage of user levels by plugins and themes is deprecated. Use roles and capabilities instead. in …/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3006
I do not think this is affecting the functionality of the plug-in, but haven’t investigated very well.

]]>OpenBook is a WordPress plugin that allows people to show rich book data on their WordPress sites. First released in 2008, it has seen three major version updates and 18000 downloads. I know there is a minor bug with displaying the OpenBook button after the WordPress 3.9 upgrade and I will fix it soon. It has got me thinking. I have had several inquiries over the years for new features. In my view, the next stage in development would be a major upgrade to a true OpenBook library, a full-featured library of digital books on your WordPress site. It would be like the WordPress ‘Add Media’ feature, but for books. Likely it would let users add items from a variety of books sources. This would not be a trivial undertaking, and I am thinking of crowd funding the development work through a site like Kickstarter. What do you think?

]]>Hello,
Openbook has been installed in WordPress 3.9 and I am viewing the site in Internet Explorer 11.
I have looked everywhere for the Openbook text editor button to access the Openbook form in the admin panel, but it’s not there. And, I cannot find an answer to why it’s not there online.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the plugin with no joy.
Does anyone know if Openbook is compatible with WordPress 3.9/ Internet Explorer 11 or what the problem might be please?
Thanks.

]]>Dear John
I would like to use your plugin on a new site that I want to prototype in the next week.
A user upon completing a book logs on to the site to a registration form and enters the ISBN number and the form is then populated automatically using the data supplied by your plugin.
I’m not a programmer but slowly getting to grips with WordPress and have put together a couple of sites.
I have called your plugin by using [openbook booknumber=????????}
How can I get this to pop up in a form so that the user enters the ISBN dynamically?
Thanks for your help
Kind regards
Curtis

]]>Rather than inject book data information within a page, can this plugin instead automatically create a content page by prepopulating specified fields in a custom page type?
In my use case, a user would search my website to see if the book page exists, if it does not but exists in OpenLibrary, the book meta data from OpenLibrary would be used to automatically create the book page on my site?
Also, can this process be automated, like a batch process – I import a CSV of ISBNs, and the plugin searches OpenLibrary for matches and builds book pages accordingly? Are there limits on how many queries I can run?
Thanks
]]>Hi,
How can I show the number of pages as well?

]]>I have adapted the Open Book plugin for use in keeping track of my personal library of books and paperbacks. I also incorporated the Currently Reading widget to import photo data from the Google Books data base.
Seems to work well so far, although after you input the ISBN# into the Open Book plugin from the VISUAL tool bar you have to manually edit the ISBN# for the additional post data. Not too hard. I just added some additional lines of code from the Currently Reading widget into the TEMPLATE 1 window.
I then manually (cut and paste) add a short description/review of the book into the post, either from the Google Book page or the Open Library page, and hit the PUBLISH button.
voila! An almost perfect list of all my books. A library-ish plugin for WordPress.

]]>Can this plugin be used to return a set of data based on search parameters (not unlike the search results inside of OpenLibrary.org?) or is this limited to displaying information about a single book? Ideally I would like to have this do 2 things:
1.) use the shortcode to embed a search term such as
[openbook booknumber=”1552500128″ searchterm=”health care” sort=”alpha”]
2.) It would also be nice to integrate the site search to return results from the specified dataset.
Thanks
