It started of great with the videos. I dont know if its the same company. To many problems. one supports multisite and one doesn’t. The one that dont support multisite is one signal. The one that do support multisite is super pwa. Super Pwa does not show where you can subscribe when you set up app.
I am sorry. Super PWA and One Signal is not the same. I will give it a shot again.

I’m ashamed of this plugin and this company, the only thing they do is send push messages to devices. Would it cost to leave the userId or ExternalUserID part minimally better developed?
The way it is done is disgusting and the documentation is shamefully poorly written, on Google or YouTube there is nothing explaining this part better and only extremely advanced users will understand it. I’m embarrassed to go into this plugin’s documentation and see that there wasn’t the slightest effort to make something a little better written.

Shame that there is no option to place the notification icon on the top toolbar in the site – the only option is bottom left or bottom right.
No good if you already have other elements in the same locations such as back to top arrow etc as the onesignal icon overlaps them.

All right, I had severe troubles setting it up for the first time. Didn’t find it intuitive at first. How ever, when you first understand where to edit the prompts, everything is fine.

This service provides several “Setup” types, including “WordPress Setup”, “Typical setup”, etc. I first tried “WordPress Setup”, but it turned out that I cannot insert “Subscribe” buttons manually (where I need them in my blog pages). The only option was to use a ready-baked, always-visible, fixed-appearance “Bell” icon staying in the lower right of the screen.
That didn’t suit me so I went back and picked the “Typical setup”. It was reasonably easy to set up, except that the relevant OneSignal documentation was a bit overwhelming and confusing to me, honestly.
One thing the documentation didn’t mention is that I had to disable the OneSignal WP plugin if I want the “Typical setup” thing. Otherwise things were broken, with no good error message.
Now I have the “Typical setup” working, but apparently that doesn’t let me auto-send notifications whenever I write a new WP blogpost. I guess I’ll be doing this manually.
Overall, setting all this up wasn’t a smooth experience (though I got through it in about 3 or 4 hours which is okay).

Edit: solve by Onesignal Support
For 6 months, the plugin has stopped working; It show a red message message “Did not receive a response status from last notification sent”.
Please help me to solve this problem. 2 years it went perfectly. I do not know what happened

I have used this plugin for years (on my not-for-profit site) without any issues.
Today I received an email, dated 25th of October, which informs me that the plugin will go to a paid option. That’s okay, that’s their decision! For me it’s not an option.
What I am complaining about is the fact that they find it sufficient to give users less than a week notice to retrieve a list of subscribers!
As if management decided this change from one minute to the next. This is just reckless behaviour (or blackmail – however you like to put it).

If you’d like to export your push subscribers, you can do so through the OneSignal dashboard or reach out to support[@]onesignal.com before October 31, 2023 for help.
Note: If you choose not to take action (upgrade or export data) before October 31, we will not be able to retrieve or recover your subscriptions for you.

I gave it four stars, because until I work with it some more, I can’t go 5. I’ve installed it on 3 of my sites and it does what it’s supposed to. It can be a bit quirky, but I think a lot of that depends on the theme you’re running and other plugins.

Our site has had onesignal push plugin for several years. A few months back it stopped working where a live pop up push shows for our users. I have attempted to get support for months only to be sent a link to “follow our troubleshooting guide” I have done that . The customer support is not what I would expect. Chatting “live” leads to dead silence after a few chats as if they just walk away and do not care. We want someone to actually help resolve not deflect our issue.

My website is a question and answer website. After configure all settings correctly it wouldn’t show notification for new questions. I also added Question slug on Additional Custom Post type field. But not working for new question. I think this is a bug. Please fix this issue.

the plugin got better, tried one year ago and never worked, even with support. Now implemented within wordpress, but the process get stuck. First step for dummies is easy, thats why some people are happy for nothing. Testing on different platforms got confusing results… WP-Plugin shows outdated help and description… Log in to your OneSignal account, and navigate to the?App Settings?page of the app you configured in this guide. Platforms OneSignal looks totally different so does not help at all
