Hi There,
I recently upgraded a client website to WordPress 3.8 and since then the plugin no longer give the opportunity to ‘select files’ before uploading.
There are no script errors reported by the browser.
I notice that the plugin is compatible up to WordPress 3.3.2 – do I need to downgrade?
Any help to get the plugin working again without downgrading would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Michael.
]]>Hi there,
Any method to bring Omni Fire to front-end?
Thank you
Hello,
I’ve been testing out this plugin with some PDF files uploads. I’ve noticed that clicking on a file begins the file download, is there not a way to just view the file (in the case of a PDF, image, etc) within the domain, just as you would any other PDF?
The use I was hoping to gain from this plugin would allow certain (registered) users to view the protected content, while shielding it from those who are not registered (even if they knew the file URL).
Can this be done, or is it in the works? Things are a bit more difficult if all files are download-only.
]]>Is there a way to view a file before you download it. I know you can open before you actually download it but it takes up a lot time and effort in doing so before you actually find what you really want.
If it’s a music file a flash play should pop up or have it stream directly from the panel itself before you actually download it. The same goes with any other known formats. This will be a great feature to implement.
Personally, I’m using this plugin a private server for every disc jockey that is on the station so they can get updates on music, documents, software and etc.

What I’d like to be able to do is setup a secure area for Role A and another secure area for Role B.

]]>Great plugin, thanks.
After using this for a committee with varying technical abilities one thing has come up – if someone uploads a file when they’re not in the correct folder in the Omni Secure Files admin area they have no way of moving it other than deleting, going to the correct folder and re-uploading.
A suggestion to make this more user-friendly would be if files could be moved between directories once uploaded (the actual file wouldn’t have to be moved but where it’s displayed in the directory structure in admin).

]]>Hi,
I’ve just installed the Omni Secure Files plugin but when I’m trying to upload files it reports this error:
Flash or an HTML 5 compatible browser is required to upload files.
Please, can you help me with this? I absolutely need a plugin like this…
I tried all browser that I have (Mozilla, Chrome, Safari) and they are all up to date… so I think that something is wrong!

]]>Good day
I’ve been looking for a solution like this for some time now.
s the plugin compatible for a network situation? I am looking to run this plugin on sub-sites on a network install.
]]>I do have 3 wishes to that great Plug-In:
1) A download-button. Than it’s easier to understand how to download a file!
2) Display the file size or how long (time: 5min) the download will take!
3) Write a description for each file
Maybe your planning to implement/integrate that in the future!!?

If I mouse over Upload File, I see the URL: https://www.foundationspublicschools.org/wp-admin/admin.php?page=omni-secure-files-menu-root#secure-files-upload
When I click it, nothing happens.
If I mouse over New Directory, I see the URL:

When I click it, it displays the upload file UI.
But I have no way of getting to the UI to create a new directory.

I would be interested in translating your plugin into spanish.
Do you have a GlotPress where to start?
Thank you!
]]>When uploading files to secure directory using IE9 the plugin creates multiple instances of the file being uploaded.
In the example I just tried (I’ve tried several times) I ended up with 9 instances of the file I was trying to upload. It’s possible, however, that the plugin is in a loop because a previous example created over 40 instances of the file. In each case I believe I stopped the loop by refreshing the page.
Any help would be gratefully received..

]]>When clicking on document uploaded with Omni Secure Files, Chrome offers only a download, when FF10 and IE9 offer opening the document in app. My clients would like to be able to open every .doc in MS Word and so on, not depending on what browser they use. Is there a fix or a solution to this behaviour?
]]>I spent 4 hours trying to figure out why my pdf files were not being downloaded correctly when clicking on the file links in the Secure Files page.
The md5 checksum was different between the file on the server and the downloaded file. The problem came in the fopen/fread section of the ajax/download.php file. I’d checked that fopen was definitely opening the correct files and tried all different types of header settings.
The eventual cause was that I had WP_DEBUG set to true. Hopefully this will help someone else if they hit the same problem.

]]>Hi,
I installed Omni secure file pluggin but it uploads file twice and when I try to open a word file it gives me error saying “word cannot start the converter mswrd632.wpc”
Hi
Your plugin is the only one coming close to doing what I want, but I have some concerns/wishes:
1) I tried uploading an .xls spreadsheet (and also a .avi file). The file was corrupted when it was downloaded. The corruption must have happened when downloading, because I tried grabbing the file directly from the file store, and it opened correctly in that case. If you need the files for reproducing the error, please contact me.
2) Would it be possible to support more then 55 characters in the filename? Too long names are shortened, and does not show correctly. Long filenames are useful in many cases to describe the content properly.
3) Is it possible to keep the original filenames when stashing files in the dedicated folder? Now, backing up the file structure in a reproducible manner requires coupling the obfuscated filenames with the database, and this is a lot of hassle.
4) When files are deleted, the (obfuscated) folders for placing them is not removed, leaving a lot of rubbish if files are often uploaded and deleted.
If these issues could be fixed, the plugin would be perfect for our use.
Cheers,
Andreas
