Does not popup. Did once and won’t anymore. Please help.

Hello, I’ve just downloaded and activate the Official Add to Homescreen plugin but I cannot see it working on my page. Any idea of what that could be?

Great plugin! It works as advertise.
My only question is sometimes I look at the analytics for the plugin and it shows that more people added than more people see it?
Any explanation for this?

So we installed it and it didn’t work

Closed the site in chrome on android

Went back to site and it worked like a charm

So users might be not set to show first time (by default)

It is preset to only work after first visit, so adjust settings

Just an example. I have 181 different “sites” on the Multisite network, and every time it is fired for one of them, I get this error. Is it really necessary? I’m not proficient enough to be able to refactor. :/

I have display errors E_ALL in my server (i think its better)

But in throw an error about the $slug variable in include/public.php line 29

I tried to figure out whats happening in there to suggest a change but i finished “avoiding the mess” using:

self::$_instance = new self (@$slug);

I really dont know where is defined that variable (in fact, nowhere, that’s the warning)

Im on an unsupported version of wordpress (4.5.2), but its not working at all for me either. Im in debug mode and I’ve tried it on my iPhone and browser. No luck. Nothing is showing up.

Looks like the plugin hasnt updated in a couple years. I wonder if the Author has moved on… if so, It would be great if they’d let the community know.

I installed the plugin and it was working just fine… but stopped somewhere along the line. One of the differences is that I have upgraded to iOS 9 – could that be the cause? I’m not getting any errors ~ but the Save to Home Screen prompt isn’t coming up either – no matter what settings I apply.

I have tried adding the plugin to multiple sites, most recently this one. I cannot get the pop-up to work on any of the site.

The settings are set to development mode so that it should show up every time I view the site on mobile.

Any suggestions?

The console from the google chrome’s devepoler tool shows me this error:

Uncaught ReferenceError: addToHomescreen is not defined(anonymous function) @ (index):236

That line shows me this: var addtohome = addToHomescreen({

that is just after the initial script tag.

I didnt find this function in the plugins editor. Can anyone tell me whats going on?

I noticed something today…

When your plugin is installed, browse to your installed plugins list and click on the “settings” link for any other plugin. It takes you to the Add To Homescreen settings instead of the plugin settings page for the plugin you clicked on.

Hi there, I’m using the latest version of wordpress 3.9.2 with the Avada theme and a few plugins. I’ve tried deactivating all plugins just in case but everytime I try to activate this plugin I get “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.” “
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in wp-content/plugins/official-add-to-homescreen/includes/admin.php on line 14″

Everything I’ve read that caused this error has to do with php version 5.3. I checked my cpanel and I’m running PHP 5.4.29 on Hostgator.

Anything you think I can do to fix this issue? Really wanted to use your plugin. Thanks for your time.

I’m trying to get the plugin to work, but for some reason I keep getting weird errors. After activating the plugin, I do see the settings panel for the plugin, but I can’t click on any of the tabs, and selecting the options and clicking “apply” does nothing.

When I visit the site, I get the error Undefined Variable: Slug on public.php, which also seems fishy to me. I can define the variable and the error disappears, but then the plugin still doesn’t work.

I run the plugin on XAMPP currently. Is it related to that?

I installed and configured the plugin adding the icon and setting the Anonymous preset, then unchecked “Skip first visit” in advanced. It does nothing. I also tried checking the “Add meta tags” option.

I tried with an iPhone and with an Android device. Then I also tried enabling the debug mode to see if it showed up in a desktop browser. No luck.

The website URL is https://www.buenperegrino.com/ and the theme I’m using is this one, with some custom modifications. The WordPress version is 3.9.1 (latest).

I’m just wondering if it is possible to only have the balloon pop-up on a specific page that is not the HomePage? For example, we would like it to pop-up on only https://worldgolfskills.com/sod as opposed to the homescreen. Is this possible? If so, how can we go about making this happen?
