Hi there,
I’ve been using this plugin for a while on several pages for our various membership groups and it’s been great but now I am getting an error on every page where I’ve got the shortcode embedded:
You do not have permission to access this content. (#418)
I’m not sure what’s up but wondering if you have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Allyson
Is there a way I can include the category that I want to show on the page.
Meaning, if I were to link directly to the group I can do something like this link to show a specific category
https://groups.google.com/forum/embed/?place=forum/MYGROUPNAME#!categories/MYGROUPNAME/MY-CATEGORY
Is there any way for me to pass this category along in the shortcode?
Thanks!

It works fine on Chrome and IE, but it seems it doesn’t work on Firefox.
It just shows a “Loading” message.
Hi,
I have an idea for advancing your tool to AWESOME …
My situation is … I am building an online conference with 20 sessions/rooms (each room is a wordpress page). On every page is your googlegroups plugin that shows a topic for that session/room only. I am calling each topic something like session1, session2, etc. I’d like to configure your plugin so that when you come into the room (any one of 20 pages), that you only see the googlegroups topics session you are in. In other words, participants do not have to figure anything out. They just start typing into the ggroups reply box FOR THAT SESSION ONLY. They see no other forum topic choices.
Does this make sense? Do you have Any advice? How do I use your plugin to differentiate each room (session)? So that I can program your plugin PER PAGE so people attendign the session on that page only see a discussion forum related to it only. They dont have to figure out and click on session1, session2, etc.
Right now your plugin doesn’t look like this is possible?. But hoping you have more magic for me? Your tool is a great idea. It just needs a few more options. Hoping you can help a non-coder like myself figure this out for my conference? Description found at https://StartupsUncon.com
Thanks ahead of time. Call if you need.

Love the plugin!
Just tried adding the group RSS feed widget to the site and I get this error:
RSS Error: A feed could not be found at https://groups.google.com/forum/feed/texasvanagons/msgs/rss.xml?num=7. A feed with an invalid mime type may fall victim to this error, or SimplePie was unable to auto-discover it.. Use force_feed() if you are certain this URL is a real feed.
Just wondering if theres a fix or if I should just forgo the group widget. Thanks!
]]>Public Groups are visible only when you are logged in at GMAIL. If u r logged out nothing works.
The same issue is on plugin official plugin webpage. If u are logged out you don’t see any gruops. Nothing.
]]>This plug is marvelous for embedding a group into my site, thanks.
I find the widget a tad limited. The rss summary makes it long for a widget; I repfer an option to hide that (I got around this via custom CSS)
#widgets .wpGoogleGroups .rssSummary {
display:none;
}
It would be useful to have a footer link to connect the widget to the group (in Google Groups or on my site). I’ll probably write my own code, but it seems like a decent general feature.
]]>Hi
I’ve downloaded your pluggins because it seemed to be so usefull to me.
After trying to create a page with it, it didn’t work.
I keep a message CHARGEMENT… in red/pink box (because i’m french guy :-)) that means DOWNLOAD…
At the foot of the page I can read “powered by Odyno gGroups” but between nothing.
Do you have any idea of the problem ?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Have a nice day.
]]>Hi,
I’ve activated the widget to show a particular group and it shows up fine. Unfortunately links don’t show if someone posts a link within their message. It shows as follows: “https://www.google.com/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.websitenameetc.com” with no link. The title is fine, just not the links within a message.
It works perfectly in a page just not a widget. Any ideas?
many thanks,
A
Using Odyno GoogleGroups v0.0.5 — works well, thank you!
However, if you run the Markup Validation Service on a webpage that has the relevant [google_groups]
shortcode, you will see the errors mentioned in the subject line above.
Note: This may only be relevant for HTML5, but I still think it’s right to change the plugin so it uses CSS instead of these obsolete (or soon obsolete) attributes.
Thanks!
Paul
Hi there! I’m having an issue with the widget included with this plugin. I’ve had the plugin installed for about a week, and the widget seemed to work perfectly, displaying the most recent messages from my Google group. But today, a new message was posted to the group (the first new message since installation of the plugin), and the widget has not updated to display it.
I thought perhaps it updated after a certain amount of time, but it’s been several hours now, with no change. I tried saving the widget settings again, too in hopes that it might prompt a check-in with the Google group.
Am I doing something wrong?
Normally, I would include a link to a page where this is failing for me, but all the pages that display the sidebar with this widget on it are password-protected, so I’d rather not, if possible. If this is necessary to help determine the problem, let me know, and I’ll just have to deal. ??
Thanks!
