I created a gallery, ID=3 so my short code is [nggpowertags gallery=3].
Each of 6 images in my gallery have 1 tag.

I spent way too much time creating new galleries, testing and lf solution. Please help!

I’m testing your NGG Powertags Plugin for my portfolio (I downgraded my NGG to version 19.9.13), and it looks pretty awesome. The only problem so far is that I can’t seem to get the include / exclude attributes to work, nothing whatsoever happens when I try to use them.
Which is a shame because I’d really need to use the “include” attribute to sort my tags, the alphabetical sorting just won’t do.

I’m confused by the other threads here about Powertags’ compatibility. If it worked with the pre 2.0 NGG, shouldn’t it still work with Nextcellent?
When I install it, there’s a message about NGG being required.
Or is there an older version that will work with Nextcellent?

I’m using Powertags with the current version of NextGen. Problem is when I add a shortcode to a page, that page doesn’t render properly anymore. It will load the background but no content body. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hello, I am currently using NextGen Gallery Powertags with WordPress 3.5.1

If I have a single gallery with the images tagged as follows:

image1: alan, carpet
image2: alan, armchair
image3: alan, restroom

If I use the shortcode [nggpowertags gallery=1 include=alan,armchair], how can I get JUST the image2 without excluding image1 and image3?

Hello,

I’m using Nextgen Gallery with your great add-on, but somehow the Masonry view is kind of weird. Some images are next to each other, others are on another ‘line’. I don’t know what causes this, the theme, WordPress, Nextgen or the filter option, but I would like to see the page as compact as possible, so as little whitespace as possible. Do you have a clue how to do this?

I use Lightbox Plus ColorBox for the whole site, for NGG too and it works fine.
But if I click the filtered thumbnails, the lightbox doesn’t work.

Do you have any suggestions?

Looks like the NextGEN Gallery 2.0.0 update released today breaks with NGP. All of my posts that use NGP (1.6.4) fail to load anything more than the header, post title and post-info — no sidebar, no footer, no post, etc. (https://architourist.ca)

When I edit the post to remove the NGP statement, or for a post with only a NextGen shortcode, everything is OK. (NGG broke some CSS, but I think that’s my fault ?? )

Hopefully there is a simple solution for this.

I am using Nextgen Gallery Powertags 1.6.1 in several galleries at https://architourist.ca but question if I am using it properly, or have a different expectation than how it actually works. Maybe you can help?

NGP allows me to keep all related images in one Nextgen gallery/folder and select them for presentation in small groups using a number of tags. NGP limits the thumbnail grid to the images with the specified tag(s). So far very good! (The tags menu is not used for these galleries.)

When the a thumbnail is clicked the image is opened, then you can scroll/page/click to the next/previous image. If there are only 6 of 20 images selected by the tag, should only those 6 images be available for viewing from those 6 thumbnails? (i.e only the tagged / filtered images) – or does the filtered thumbnail gallery show the 6 tagged/filtered thumbnails but pop-up all 20 images in the Nextgen gallery for viewing by scrool/page/click?

This second result is what I experience with my usage, but I really expected the first, fully filtered behaviour.

A good example is here “Southlands Residence” where tags are used to select from the Nextgen gallery into 3 separate thumbnail displays on the page: 6 images, 6 images and 19 images. But each thumbnail gallery pages through all 31 images from the gallery/folder. I expected NGP to filter the thumbnail gallery (yes!) and also restrict access to only the filtered full images, but it does not.

Can you tell me if I am using NGP incorrectly, or perhaps misunderstand the usage?

I’m adding my galleries via the “do_shortcode()” method and passing in a dynamic gallery ID as such:

If I set the shortcode as the default nextgen shortcode: “nggallery” this method works fine except the excluded images are shown, which I expect; however, if I set the shortcode as per the example above (using “nggpowertags“) then I receive the error:

“[NextGen Gallery Powertags][1.6.1][ERROR] : You must specify at least one gallery ID.“

Any thoughts as to why I can’t use a dynamic GalleryID?

Hi, I’m using a child theme of 2012 and the Version 1.6.1 PowerTags plugin. I have a gallery of images (https://moroccoguidedtreks.com/gallery/) and would like to reorder the power tags.

Each photo has one tag and I am following instructions on the readme.txt using the code
[nggpowertags gallery=1 tagmenu_sep=” – ” include=atlas,anti-atlas,saghro,desert,atlantic] to reorder but I get this error message ‘[NextGen Gallery Powertags][1.6.1][ERROR] : Picturelist is empty.’

I feel I am doing this right but it is just not working for me. Any suggestions would be really helpful. Many thanks.

I found that when i upload new photos to my nggallery i have re update the page the gallery is short coded on in order for new images to be displayed and used by the power tags plugin. I am using additional ngg gallery plugins.

Hi,

Is it possible to filter the images using more than one tag?

For example say I have tags for colour (red, blue, green) and brand (X, Y, Z). I’d like the user to be able to select a particular colour and particular brand and then show only the images with both those tags (e.g all the images with the tags X and red).

Thank you for this plugin!! When I am displaying the tags in a list or with checkboxes, they sort alphabetically. But when I display them in a select box by using tagmenu_format=select, they are not sorted alphabetically.

Hi – I’ve put together a gallery. Most of the images have tags but some do not. The images without any tags don’t appear at all even when the gallery is displaying ‘all’. The shortcode I’m using is –

[nggpowertags gallery=1 tagmenu_format=sep tagmenu_sep=" | " template=caption]

Is this how it’s supposed to work or am I doing something wrong?

I wonder if it would be possible to somehow hide a menu. For example, I am trying to make a list of pictures with 2 tags and I want to have them on one page abd I want to optically separate pictures with different tags. It works almost well, problem is that there is always menu above the picture list (I know that this menu is probably most important feature of this plugin :-)) and when you click on tag it starts to filter all images on page, it is hard to explain, but when you try it, you can immediatelly see what is the problem.

Maybe there is another easy way how to do it and I just do not see it. For example I can make special gallery for each tag but then I do not need tags and everything gets complicated.

I am finishing web and I found out that images do not display anymore, I do not know since when. Now I only get message “picturelist is empty”, I tried to remove and add tags again (I do not use any special characters in tags), I tried to deactivate and activate plugin but nothing helped. Do you have any idea what could be the problem?

Hi,

First of all I would like to say a big thank You for your great work on this plugin. Powertags is the core of our children’s site.

As We use it to display different “categories” of coloring pages – for example – I throught to give a little help to Google to find the filtered pages more interesting with adding the Tag’s -> name data before my page title. See my example here: where the “Nyuszi” is the first word of the page’s H1 title.

I also trought, that I may use the NGG’s tags to display some additional description before the page content to let Google find some original, and related content to my pictures.
Unfortunately there is no an NGG feature to set/write descriptions for tags, nor the “Rich Text Tags, Categories, and Taxonomies” plugin do it – even if it is listed in the official NGG extensions page.

I would like to ask You – as the master of the NGG Tags – if You can add some functionality the Powertags to let us:
– Modify the title of the page/post (containging the powertags shortcode) according to the actual tag
– Add Tag Description editing
– Add Tag Description display shortcode to your plugin (something like[nggpowertags tagdescription])

Ok, I see that my request a little’ more than an usual feature request, and also see, that this is not a well designed developement route for You! ??

But actually we are really working hardly dependent on NGG and Powertags, so my only chance to keep relatively clear my codes is to ask for some kind of extra function in Powertags.

It could be a honor for me if I can assist in find a longterm way to handle the NGG tags with a little more SEO firendly viewport.

It works fine, but when i change tags to something on my language (i’m russian), it gives me only one message “picturelist is empty”. It’s some kind of a charset problem i guess. But in nextgen-gallery-powertags.php file if i change all_word “All” to “Все” (i’ts all on russian), it works just fine. Any ideas how to fix it? Or you can only insert tags in english?

Is it possible to change the location of the tag cloud? My website is art-based, so there are a lot of pictures, and I want the pictures to be the first thing people see at the top of the page, not the tags. I would prefer to have the tags listed at the bottom of the page, and the images above. Is this possible?
