Hi Newspack Folks,
I was reviewing your plugin for potential usage and I wanted to confirm how I can create a local subscription list, as per: https://newspack.com/release-notes-january-9-2023/.
Could you please advise? I do not have a third-party vendor such as ActiveCampaign, Constant Contact, or MailChimp, and would like to keep all my contact within WordPress itself.
Additionally, can you please advise what an “Advertiser” is used for in the context of creating a newsletter?

Hello,

One of our customers reported a critical error on their site when using your plugin with ProfilePress. We took a look and found that you did not declare the Reader_Activation class in the file newspack-newsletters/includes/class-newspack-newsletters-subscription.php although it is used on line 524.

We added the declaration and that fixed the issue.

When i try to add new newsletter, Subscribe list is not displaying (/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=newspack_nl_cpt)

Service Provider:Campaign Monitor – Subscribe list is not displaying on latest version (1.50.0)

Normally it shows when i click on add/edit newsletter -> SEND TO -> Send Mode -> List (on the right side)

Subscription Lists showing on configuration page and i enabled required lists ( /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=newspack_nl_cpt&page=newspack-newsletters-settings-admin )

This is issue occurring only on 1.50.0 and 1.49.1 versions.

I really wannna start using this plugin but the newsletter page is showing as 404 after publishing even if I add as public the page show as 404

Newspack appears to be both a plug-in and a service, see https://newspack.pub/

Is there anywhere I can read about the differences between the two or something that puts the relationship between them in context?

We’re experimenting with building our newsletters through this plugin and everything works great for the most part, except when I add the spacer block between posts, it doesn’t seem to get transferred to the Mailchimp template.

When I look at the template created in Mailchimp, I can see this where the spacer should be:

<div style="height:px;line-height:px;"> </div>

It seems the height and line-height styles are stripped…

Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Will you be adding other ESPs to the plugin? I use CovertKit and other colleagues use other ESPs than Mailchimp and ConstantContact. News Glue will be supporting ConvertKit this month or next but this plugin looks good if only it would work with with other ESPs. Thanks

I have a few shortcodes in my theme that I need to include in my newsletter.

In fact this is the main reason I need to use the newsletter plugin.

However, the shortodes aren’t being processed. What appears in my newsletter is [shortcode] rather than the info the short code should bring back.

Also it appears that the filters aren’t running.

Here’s a more user oriented version of the question:

I want to incldue events (event names, times and dates) from the wp-events-manager plugin.

I am using the events manager placrholders int he newsletter but when I receive the test newsletter, the placeholders aren’t replaced by the event information.

Do you have any hints for me me before I start digging into the code?

This plugin looks to be exactly what I need, except I need to include custom post type felds from the ACF plugin.

Any idea why the custom fields don’t show up with the newsletter post type?

I have configured the fields to show up ACF (I can select the newsletter as a psot type to add an ACF rule group to), but they don’t appear.

Is there anything I can do to cause the custom fields to be available in the meta info for the newsletter?

1. From Ads section we can create Ads but how can we relate those Ads to particular Newsletter. How can we display Ads at particular position in that Newsletter.
2. On right hand side options in Newsletter we have Featured Image option but how can we display it as main image / main header image of that Newsletter.

I’m trying to activate the Newspack Newsletters plugin on my site. It installs but when I click Activate it doesn’t. Instead I get this message at the top of my page:

I host on WP Engine. Any idea what’s wrong here?
