It is very quick and easy to get a list of news articles published on it’s own “news” page, to get that page on your menu, or to add a sidebar widget with the news list in it. I really appreciate how easy that was to do.
To get the news to show up as part of the content on a page (not a sidebar), you do have to go get your hands dirty with some PHP, by making a template that runs news-manager’s nm_display_news() function. This isn’t well documented, but, as the author stated in a forum post, it’s easy enough to open news-manager’s functions.php file and see exactly how to use it, and I had it working in an hour or two.
It’s clear that this functionality is not a focus of the developer, as a few bugs were present, requiring that I edit the plugin’s code itself. However, editing a few lines of code in news-manager is much better than attempting to code the entire thing myself, so I still recommend this plugin as an excellent starting point for a News list. Prettying it up can take a bit more (programming) effort.

But causes a redirection loop when activated when used with Shuttershot theme. Tested several times but I never managed to solve the issue.

Does anyone have a clue how to use this plugin beyond widgets? The backend settings are great however I cannot find how to actually display News on a News page (like the blog page) without going deep into code. Sadly, like many plugins, there is a complete lack of documentation.
