Adding sort limit has no affect on custom post types. For example, I have:
[nlposts title_only=false display_type=block blog_id=5 thumbnail=true thumbnail_url=thumb custom_post_type=arthritis category=arthritis-lifestyle excerpt_length=NULL auto_excerpt=true excerpt_length=30 sorting_limit=1 thumbnail_wh=300x150]
Even though, sorting_limit=1, I see all custom post type articles. Any idea how I can limit custom post types sorting limit?
]]>I’ve seen something in the support forum that mentions sorting by date regardless of blog but I’m wishing to show only the most recent N number of posts of all blogs aggregated regardless of the blog id and with no pagination. I’ve got it close to working the way I want, but the pagination won’t turn off.

]]>First of all, thanks for this plugin. I’ve been using it for a number of years, however, in my latest use of it in the twentyseventeen theme. I have the widget displaying on the home page of the site. The image thumbnails appear just fine, but the caption of the image is appended to the excerpt. If you take a look at my site here, and page down to the “latest posts”, you’ll see some extraneous verbiage at the start of the excerpts. This is coming from the image caption within the posts and I’d like to suppress them, preferably through my function.php.
Any pointers on this would be greatly appreciated!

]]>It would be cool to have another parameter that limits the posts from each blog.
So let’s say you want 10 posts total (that’s already a parameter) but you want AT MOST 2 posts from each blog (so that blogs with more posts don’t overwhelm the feed) – you could set “posts_per_blog” to 2 or something.

]]>There should be a parameter/argument which allows the function network_latest_posts() to return the array of post objects, instead of automatically printing out html. That way, the function could be used to query the latest posts and then displayed in a custom way.
Should be easy enough…
1. add “echo” => TRUE/FALSE to parameters
2. After building up $all_posts array, if this $echo is true, return $all_posts.
What do you think?

Hi I gotta say the plugin is great and is what I am exactly looking for. However, as a novice I am not able to figure out how to use the plugin with custom post types. All my network sites have content in the form of custom post types such as directory listings.
I see a field in the plugin called “Custom Post Type” but I actually do not know how to find the custom post type “name” from each site. I tried all upto my knowledge and the plugin is not able to pick them. It is clear that I have the wrong post type names. Please help.

So I have some troubles when I try to use multi-instances.
I have seen that there is no Instance identifier in network-latest-posts-widget.php

I’m having difficulty sorting the posts according to post date, and showing the right thumbnail size.
When sort_by_date=true is selected, it seems to sort by the actual time in which it was published, rather than the post date indicated (e.g. for back-dated posts).
Also, the thumbnails seem to respect the vertical dimension, but will not crop the horizontal width. I have the WP thumbnail set to the same dimensions, and have regenerated those, but they are not being used.
