Please absorb functions from this abandoned plugin:

thx
Exciting to have an update to this absolutely necessary plugin! Thank you so much!
I run two networks, and unfortunately, the older one of the two crashed on update. I fiddled around until I was sure that the plugin update that caused the problem was Multisite Enhancements. I’m now running with it deactivated and the site is up. I tried activating it and it crashed so I reverted to a backup with it deactivated and I’m up and running again. All other plugins are up to date and it’s running WP 6.5.4 and that was true when I last attempted to activate MSE without success.
Of course I find this plugin essential – hint, hint Core folks – so I’d like to get it going again. Does anyone have any suggestions? Are there plugins that are conflicting with this new version? My other network handled the update just fine. Both are on WPEngine if that matters.
I’d be happy to give any additional information. Here is my list of all plugins. Of course none of the sites have them all active. I’m pretty confident that no site has more than one plugin that performs the same function active. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

As is obvious, this plugin hasn’t been updated in a very long time.
Are there any potential security issues if we still want to use it?
Are there any decent alternatives?

When updated WP to version 5.8.3 the plugins / themes lists did not show the sites where plugins or themes are activated. Only after I deactivated the Multisite Enhancements plugin and activated it again, the sites were displayed again.

Hi Frank,

Hi there, I have noticed that, after deleting a site without deactivating all plugins from it, the plugins “Usage” column still shows the deleted sites among those using each plugin. Now, this is not big deal, but it would be nice to have the option to “refresh” the column, in the plugin settings.
Anyway, I would like to clean my multisite installation manually, so it would be very much appreciated if you could point me to the table where this particular piece of data is stored.
Cheers, r

When a site is not public and site name is as long as the width of the menu items, the list of sites in My Sites submenu is placed before the next site instead of the site in question. May result in wrong indication or double icons.
I’ve tried three different sites, two on live server and one on local. All gave the same error when I attempted to delete your plugin from the site.
PHP Fatal error occurred: require_once(): Failed opening required '/xxxx/xxxx/xxx/xxxxx/wp-content/plugins/multisite-enhancementssrc/settings.php' (include_path='.:/etc/config/php') in /xxxx/xxxx/xxx/xxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/multisite-enhancements/uninstall.php on line 9.
Having taken a look at the code in your plugin, I see the error.
Currently, your uninstall.php file contains:
require_once __DIR__ . 'src/settings.php';
I changed it to:
require_once __DIR__ . '/src/settings.php';
When I applied the change, I was able to delete via WordPress dashboard. I’m not a coder so I don’t know if the solution is the solution you would choose, but what I did worked for my needs.
Thanks
I have a Bitnami Multisite and I want to install Multisite Enhancements. Is the plugin compatible with Bitnami Multisite?
I just updated from 1.5.3 to 1.6.0. On the Installed Plugins admin page:
a) In the Usage column, when activated on more than 3 sites, the list is now expanded in its default state. Can you PLEASE change it back so it is compact? My list of plugins is already huge and when some are used on 20 or 30 sites the list is unruly.
b) Of less concern, the Usage column is also very narrow, not generously wide like the usage column on the Installed Themes page. You may not have control over this. But if you CAN make changes to the load-styles.php file, I have a few suggestions. The Auto Updates column is hogging a 14.2em width and only needs 9em or none at all since it would only scroll to two lines. The plugin column has a white-space: nowrap; which forces it very wide.
I love your plugin, very handy. I’m going to give you a good review now because everyone feels better when a plugin has more users.

Hello guys,
I use the plugin and I would like to use the get_sites() fonction to display the website list a user has access to on his “my account” page, on the frontend.
A user would log in on my main site, see the site he has access to, and would be able to access it directly from here.
How can I do that ? Thanks !

Hello,
I’d like to remove the No Index “(X)” Icon from showing or a toggle to enable/disable showing the “(X)” … all of the sites in my multisite are “NoIndex”.
I am investigating plugins on my site that are not loading scripts and styles correctly. multisite-enhancements is active on this site, and while reading that plugin code, I cam across this:
inc/autoload/class-add-css.php:
add_action( 'admin_head-themes.php', array( $this, 'enqueue_style' ) );
I know that the correct way to enqueue scripts and styles is to use one of the action hooks ‘wp_enqueue_scripts’, ‘admin_enqueue_scripts’, or ‘login_enqueue_scripts’. What I’m not clear on, is if you’ve created an action called ‘admin_head-themes.php’ that is allowing you to do this the proper way. Or maybe this is just old code that needs to be updated to the newer way of loading.
My problem is that WP is generating a warning because code (plugins, themes…) are not loading scripts and styles correctly, but the warning is not indicating the offending code:
[12-Apr-2019 12:57:45 UTC] PHP Notice: wp_register_script was called incorrectly. Scripts and styles should not be registered or enqueued until the
wp_enqueue_scripts
,
admin_enqueue_scripts
, or
login_enqueue_scripts
hooks.
