I am using MSTW Bracket Builder Version 1.3 on WordPress v6.1.1 with php version 7.4.
After creating a Tournament and entering information to the games, I get an error after clicking on “Update Games” and an Email sent to me from wordpress reads:

thrownThe first time it sets the date and time of game one to 1970-01-01 00:00.
Only the contents of the first game are saved, everything else gets removed after updating, even time and date.
The first game is displayed without problem on the webpage, no other games are displayed though.
I went through the code in “mstw-bb-bracket-builder-class.php” a bit and tried changing the “if ( $game_obj )” to “if ( true )” after which it doesn’t throw an error anymore, but alas, it still doesn’t save the contents.
If I understand it correctly, the “OBJECT” parameter in line 669 should be object by default, so isn’t it redundant? PHP Storm shows it as “undefined constant”.
Also, PHP Storm shows mstw_log_msg() to be an undefined function, which seems to be what throws the error. At the same time, the error seems to be unrelated to the issue of it not saving the game information.
Let me know if I can provide you with further information and if you do find the source for this bug, I would be very interested to know what it was.
If you happen to check out the site, don’t be thrown by the fact that I inserted logos instead of links for the player names, this has no relevance for the error occurring, it was the same when I just used plain text.

First of all, we love this plugin. We have the premium version and have been using it for years.
We do run into one major problem that occurs semi-regularly. Basically, sometimes we cannot update the games in the tournament table.
1. We create the bracket and add the teams.
2. We navigate to Update Games and select the tournament we want to update
3. We change the date, time, and/or location of the game and click Update Games
4. The page refreshes and says the updates have been made, but the updates have, in fact, not been made.
I took a screen grab video to show you all the steps we’re taking (I will email you because it doesn’t appear I can share photos or videos on this forum).
This probably happens to about 1 of every 5 tournament brackets we create. The work around we’ve found is to create a new tournament with a different slug and then we can usually update those games, but that is pretty time consuming especially when the bug appears later in the tournament schedule.

When i try and populate the teams for a tournament table, i fill out all of the teams in round 1, however when i hit Update Games – WordPress will sit there for ages applying the changes.
After that the table gets populated, in all rounds up to the final with the teams from the very first game in the list,the same time and same date.
The link provided by a user who posted this issue a year ago is not working.

]]>Hello! Love the MSTW Bracket Builder plugin! Makes my life 1000000x easier. Is there a way to give different WordPress user roles publishing capabilities on the plugin? Currently, my contributors are able to submit a bracket for review, but I want one of my contributors to be able to publish and edits brackets without my approval. I use a user role management plugin (Members by Justin Tadlock) to give permissions to users for different plugins.
I am using the Premium Version 1.1.

Any ideas how to resolve these please?

I’m using the free version of MSTW Bracket Builder, will buy if this plugin can meet our needs.
I’ve created a tournament with 5 rounds, but have also tried this on the 4 rounds. When I click to Edit Tournment, I can only fill out the top three rows in Round 1. If I fill out any additional information, and click Update Tournament Table or Update Games, the page refreshes and I only have the top three rows filled out again. Everything else is cleared.
I have created a secondary (dummy) tournament as per another post, but I’m not sure what else to do. Can you suggest anything I can try?

]]>There is a big difference between the free and premium versions of the plugin. We started with the free version and then switched to the premium version and it broke everything we created in the free version. But that isn’t our problem (I don’t think.) I should note that we had to delete the free version because it caused a fatal error when installing the premium version.
We create a new test tournament with 4 “teams”. Our teams are individuals so the free version was a bit easier to use for us as we didn’t have to create a team for each individual. Regardless, we added 4 “teams”, 1 for each individual. We assigned them to the 1-4 seeds in the tournament. Saved everything… viewed the tournament. We get this on our page “No games found for tourney: test-tournament”
No problem we figure. We go to the Update Games navigation link. The page has no games listed. We see our “Test Tournament” in the drop down. We click “Update Tournament Table” just to be on the safe side. Nope, no games. We then clicked “Update Games” thinking that might solve the problem. We are hit with a “No Games Updated” error.
So I watched your video on Vimeo and your games pages has all sorts of games listed but mine doesn’t…

I searched for a long time a bracket plugin that would really fit into my website and I think this is the one but I encountered a problem. Everything works great excepct when the shortcode draw the bracket on a page It’s very bad. Some line are drawn which don’t have anything to do with this tournament or I did something wrong?

i tried to create a new tournament with 4 round…but i can’t edit fields like date, time, team a, team b, location, team a score, team b score. Only the first match works; if i tried to edit other matches and then click the Updates Games button, nothing has saved.

I have an issue with bracket builder only producing a slug of -1. I thought it might be that the tournament had a space in the name and some of the fields were empty. But I created several variations on it and they all create the -1 slug.
