I had a heart attack when I updated WP 4.1 and qTranslate stopped workinng. And I read it would be for a long time, as the develeoper didn’t answer emails (anyway, a good job so far!). And then I read about mqTranslate, and, in less than minute (download, deactivate qtranslate, activate mqTranslate), everything worked again. My webpage in two languages, as always. And my heart, healthy…

Like everyone else here, I had a site that was updated to WP version 4 and qTranslate broke.
This plugin fixed everything and imported all my settings from qTranslate no less. It literally took less than five minutes to get everything up and running.
Great work!

Combined with Danish localization file (PO file), our site is now truly multi-lingual. Thanks so much !

My favourite!

I was able to update a few sites that were still running qtranslate thanks to you. mqTranslate is the only drop-in replacement that worked for those.

Thanks!

and a special thank you for not changing the function names, making it the only fork compatible with all the other plugins that were using qtranslate funtions. ( like our qtranslate-slug )!!
enjoy!

I started with qTranslate Plus, but ran into several issues and found not much support. I wanted – for example – to also translate the subtitle of our WordPress installation.
Here I found the syntax on the forum in no time:
[:en]My Eloquent Subtitle[:de]Mein Wohlformulierter Untertitel
Moving from qTranslate Plus to this new plugin worked fine, there are instructions all over.
I did not give five stars for this reason: There are many minority languages in this world. But I can only add new languages with two-letter-codes, which is blocking out hundreds of millions of speakers of minority languages from a running blogs in their mother tongue (plus a language of wider communication). Give us all three-letter-codes (see Ethnologue) and I will gladly add the fifth star.

Started using qtranslate, but due to the low support/updates I ended up here. Works like a charm, frequently updated and simply very easy to use.
Love it!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
After upgrading to WP 4.0 I had problems with qTranslate plugin.
I was trying other plugins but none was translating the Image Description of an Album of Nextgen Gallery version 2.0.xx!
mqTranslate is solving my problem!
Thanks again.

5) Ir a settings – languages
6) Abrir “Advance Settings” (haciendo clic en show)
7) Ir a “Settings Migration” y seleccionar “Import Settings from qTranslate”
8) Salvar
9) Comprobar arriba del todo que el idioma por defecto es el que queremos y el orden.
10) Activar el widget de mqtraslate

I’d put off updating a blog to 4.0 given the lack of updates coming out of qTranslate.
Today I migrated the site over to mqTranslate – painless, simple, imported options, still works with several plugins depending on qTranslate (qTranslate META, qTranslate slug, qTranslate XML Sitemaps).
Thanks for keeping this up to date!

4 stars only because I would love the non-default languages to auto-fill with a machine translation and bring images from default language to the other languages. Other than that, I find it useful and so happy it also translates the admin for my clients. Cheers!

there is no option te insert images inside the text.

I used to work with qTranslate till its end then i migrated to WPML for my client’s larger projects. Glad to have a free and light solution for light/medium projects i’m working on.
Nice, well done and updated, thank you for your hard work.
Keep it up!
