This plugin completely wiped out my entire site built on the Goodlayers theme. All page content, etc., completely gone. I do not recommend using for the Goodlayers theme.

The native WordPress Export/Import did not work. This plugin did. 5 Stars.

Gives an error “Failed to copy” and that’s it. Hours of transfering files through FTP just to get this message in the end. Also support tickets that are very old regarding that error have been ignored.

Plugin worked flawlessly in migrating media files from an old WP to new. Updraft would restore it, but not register it with the new WP! This plugin did the trick. THANK YOU

I was looking for a plugin that would upload the media library from the old website to the new, so I could move the posts over. The native WordPress export, just exported the xml files. Exporting them as json worked better. Thank you!

The export does not work, nothing happens, just an empty table appears, no download starts, no download link os shown.

I used this plugin to transfer media files to a new version of the site. It worked great! I exported the json file from the previous site, copied the files to the uploads folder of the new installation and then imported the json file. Excellent result! Allows you to keep the same URLs (organized by month and year as it was), just as you imported the Alt Text. Perfect! Thanks!

I do not understand why this plugins has only few ratings up to now. It does what it promises very well and reliably. Ive used it to move and/or merge WP-installations. It works flawlessly.
Just like its brother “Moving Contents”, BTW …*

Thanks to Katsushi Kawamori
First: Import photos from the plugin
Second: Zip (compress) your website photo folder
Third: then move to a new site or new host and extract (in the same direction)
Fourth: Export the JSON file to the plugin
And be patient until less than a few minutes all the photos are displayed in the media library without changing the URL.

I moved a site from Local to a development url. FTP the entire Uploads folder to the wp-contents > Install the plugin on the Local site > export the json file > Install the plugin on the New site > Set the old and new urls and import the json file. Done. All the media appears. Thank you ??

Excellent work, it even allows you to migrate the media from a single site to a multisite. Greetings from Mexico.

Many thanks to the developer for spending the time to make all of our lives easier.
The plugin description was a little hard to understand so I’ll explain how we used it.
My site was broken so I decided to rebuild it from the ground up. I installed a fresh new instance of WordPress, installed fresh versions of the plugins, theme, imported posts and pages from the old site, copied the media library files from the old install but the new install didn’t recognize the media in their file folders. Run this plugin on the old site by exporting the JSON file, then run it on the new site by importing the JSON file. Your media library will then display all the files again. What a time saver!
As the developer states, make sure to run this plugin first because it uses the same post IDs in the library. Fortunately the way we imported the posts and pages earlier they matched the same post IDs so this wasn’t an issue. Next time if there is one, I’d run this plugin first.

I had to move 2.8gb files of only images and this plugin made the work really easy.
You must be a son of Japanese gods.
For those who probably don’t understand how it works:
-Move your images between /wp-content/uploads folders on your sites.
-Go to your original site
-Export JSON file
-Go to the new file
-Import JSON file
-Be impressed like all of us, review 5 stars and donate if possible.

I was recreating a wordpress site element-by-element to solve a bug. After searching for solutions and trying other plugins without success this one did the job. Read the instructions for what it does and doesn’t do. It worked perfectly for me. Thanks!

First have to upload files via FTP, then just use this plugin. Thank you!

I think i must have lost nearly an entire day trying to migrate a media library for a fairly large corporate site after splitting it away from a multisite.
As you can image, not a straightforward task, and after trying just about every other plugin, i was pretty much ready to cry… until I discovered this!
great work on this… a solid WP plugin!

This plugin sure saved the day for me! Migrating to a new host and needed to migrate my media library to the new site. After moving all the /uploads to the new hosting via FTP, this plugin not only registered all my images in the Media Library, but also moved the post attachment info! I wasn’t expecting this, but it saved me lots and lots of time having to reattach 400+ images to my posts and portfolio posts. THANKS A MILLION!

Perfect!
Moved a 4GB Media Library without any issues.

I don’t write reviews for plugins but I registered just to write this one because it deserves it.
Similar to another user, needed to move 2GB (5 years worth) of images from one server to another. After uploading them through SFTP, any attempts to register them through the media library with other plugins like Media Sync or Add From Server kept timing out. Luckily I found this plugin (through another one) and it registered them all in only a minute. Best of all it kept the upload dates (so 2015 images will be uploaded in 2015, etc.)
THANK YOU. ありがとうございました。

After fighting to move an 1,800 item (12,590 files) Media Library from a legacy site to our new dev site, the sibling plugin “Media from FTP” pointed me here. 5 minutes later it was done.
