I am a seasoned programmer and found this plugin awful.
This is a terrible plugin because it reveals your code php filenames.
No code should ever reveal file names that you want protected.
And, it takes up much space that slows down page load time – That is, it has excess and unnecessary tags, such as
<div class=”span3″ data-motopress-type=”static” data-motopress-static-file=”static/static-social-networks.php”>
instead of
<div class=”span3″>
I am having to go through my purchased template to remove all the motopress excess tags now.
That said, think about your priorities before using this.

When something jacks up the plugin, you’re screwed. Tech support SUCKS.
There is no support forum on their site that you can read and learn from. You have to open a ticket. The latest WP update broke the plugin 10 days ago and it’s still not fixed. They knew about the break but didn’t bother to put a notice on their site or on FB or anywhere else for that matter…so after pulling my hair out for several days, I opened a ticket. After several days of promising to release an update “tomorrow,” they’ve finally told me today that they’re struggling with it and hope to have an update out by the end of the week.
Meanwhile, my site building has come to a halt. If I uninstall the plugin, I lose the formatting on the 134 pages I’ve built and have to start over.
If I wasn’t past the dispute period with PayPal, I would sic them on MotoPress to get my money back. And of course they have a no refund policy because they obviously know this plugin sucks. BUYER BEWARE!

The support I have received has been excellent. Sure it’s all by email and sure the tech support person I have been dealing with needs a temporary login, but he/they have quickly solved both my issues. Polite to a fault and replies within a day.
No it’s not simple, you need some knowledge of WordPress admin but a few trial and error tests were all I needed.
I highly recommend this plugin to anyone above Beginner WordPress.
Take note, I didn’t realize at first that I was paying for a yearly subscription or however you want to phrase it. I thought I’d bought it for our site. There is a yearly renewal. My fault for not reading all the verbiage on the plugin’s page.

This is a difficult plug-in if you aren’t a techie. I thought I had been saved from the frustrations of WP when I found MotoPress. Their video made it look simple, naturally, but they had no phone number (clue #1) to ask some simple questions, nor could I find the answers any other way. The $30 price tag made it worth the trouble to try. What a mistake. It’s not easy, the learning curve is huge. Don’t make the mistake of thinking this is a simple drag and drop. It’s just as frustrating as WP. Then we get to Customer Service. OMG. Hilarious. I sent a simple, pleasant note to ask for my money back and “Emily” took it personally and sent me back a snarky, hostile note basically telling me I’m an idiot for not reading their return policy before I bought. Yikes, Emily, calm down. Their return policy? If it ain’t broke, you own it. I guess they know their product sucks.

I’m trying to install this theme, but get the following error:
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css
stylesheet.

This plugin is way way too complicated to set up.
Way to many steps to follow. It should have a video tutorial to help with set up.

MotoPress is probably the best layout editing plugin for WordPress I’ve ever tested. It’s really easy in use. I also like its overall architecture and I’d recommend it to anyone
