Detect if a user is on desktop and direct to the desktop site.
Is this possible? I just want to cover my bases with a mobile=specific site and make sure desktop users don’t view the mobile site on desktop.

Anyone know how to change that?

Thanks!

]]>Hello,
It’s good to see someone else picking up where Matt left off with Mobile Device Detect. However, I’m afraid that this plugin is violating (or at minimum teetering on violation) the license of Andy’s Mobile Device Detect script.
Here are a few things to consider. Andy request the script not be distributed with other packages:
This code is from https://detectmobilebrowsers.mobi/ – please do not republish it without due credit and hyperlink to https://detectmobilebrowsers.mobi/ really, i’d prefer it if it wasn’t republished in full as that way it’s main source is it’s homepage and it’s always kept up to date
The script is also only free for Personal/ non-profit use when you pay with a tweet [Source]. By distributing it with this plugin you are violating this license.
I know Andy also says “to a good home” which he clarifies as:
– Charities that don’t pay stupid salaries to their staff and which actually benefit real people
– Anyone helping anyone learn and better themselves through education
– Anyone helping people be well, get well or stay well in body and mind
– Anyone promoting the individual or a humanitarianI would personally prefer it Churches were to find an alternative solution.
I feel that by packaging this code you are violating Andy’s license. It is also true that this plugin can’t be released as GPL compatible if you use none GPL compatible code (which violates the www.remarpro.com plugin terms [Source])
I would suggest that you either get an extended permission from Andy to distribute it, remove the script (like the original plugin), or remove the entire plugin.
Note: I am not a lawyer but am someone who likes to see people play fair.

]]>Towards the bottom of the plugin source there is the line:
if ($_POST['mobile_rediirect'] != get_option('mobile_ddr_mobile_redirect_option')) {
There is a typo in this line. “mobile_rediirect” should be “mobile_redirect”. There are two “i”s rather than one.
This means that you can’t specify a mobile URL correctly.]
I don’t understand how this plugin works anyway, but hopefully that will fix it.
