Hello Josh,
After not seeing an update, and not hearing from you, when we corresponded about the PHP warnings more than 4 years ago, I did not post about the deprecated JQuery that occured when WordPress updated the jQuery version some time ago.
I had expected that any deprecated jQuery to have been fixed in the recent update, but apparently the js files used previously are unchanged.
In the /js/jquerycycle.all.js there are deprecated .expr[':'], .hover(), .bind(), .unbind(), .isFunction()
In the /js/slideshow.js there is a deprecated .hover()
I was able to correct the above code myself. They seem to have worked fine and I would be happy to post them, if you wish.
Hi – I have a strange issue – I have 2 duplicate sites, one is the original non-Elementor built in 2015, the other is completely new but built using Elementor in a developers environment – both have the exact same Meteor Slideshows but the new one is not working the same as the original.
There are 2 slides shows (each containing 3 slides) each named differently and both displaying on the same page next to each other.
I set up the new site exactly as the old but where the old displays two separate slideshows, the new doesn’t. One is correct but the other is a duplicate of the first.
I’ve double checked the names, code, shortcode, slides, slideshows and everything I can think of on the new, and it is set up exactly as the original.
I’m tearing my hair out looking for the problem with no luck – so before I go bald maybe someone can help me fix the issue.
TIA
Hello,
Is it possible to deactivate the Share buttons of the slider?
Thank you

Meteor Slides is an outstanding plugin, which we have been using for several years. Although there have not been any recent updates, it would be a great pity if this plugin was to disappear. Especially because there are more than 50,000 active installs!
A quick plugin test shows a PHP Notice and PHP Deprecated warning (see below).
Hoping that you will find the time to issue an upgrade of this great plugin.
Please confirm.

How do I create Different Speeds on different slideshows. So I have 2 different slideshows and one of them I want the Transition Speed to be 2 and on the other I want it to be 3. Same with Slide Duration I want it to be 2 and the other to be 3.
I see on your website you wrote to someone asking for multiple speeds that…
“It depends on how you want the slideshows to cycle. For example, if you want the first and the third slideshows to cycle every 6 seconds, and then the second and fourth slideshows to cycle every 12 seconds, you could set the default option to 6 seconds, and in the metadata for the other two slideshows, change the duration to 12:
[meteor_slideshow metadata=”timeout: 12000”]
But that didn’t work for me.

Hi. Ive taken over this website and am finding it difficult to work out how to add new slides to an existing slideshow or even add a new slideshow one instead. The instructions say to add [meteor_slideshow] to the page. It already has this shortcode and I cant see how to change it from one slideshow to another when the shortcode is the same?
Also I can delete slides and limit the number to be shown in settings but when I add a new slide and increase the number of slides in settings the new one doesn’t show up.
What am i missing?
Thanks
Peter
Hi
Ive just taken over this website and am not familiar with Meteor Slides. Some of the slides on the home page are showing blurry. Ive been able to rectify some of these by changing the size. Others it has no effect. Any help appreciated.
Hi

Hello. Are there any future updates planned, or has the plugin been abandoned?
Hi Josh, is the Plugin now abandoned?
My WordPress security is advising I dump your Plugin as it is no longer updated for latest versions of WordPress: “This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”
I have enjoyed using your plugin, would just appreciate knowing of any update plans?
Thanks Dennis
Hi Josh,
I asked for an update 18 months ago to fix deprecated code for two PHP 7.2 warnings and again 9 months ago, together with suggested patches.
You replied saying you would put in the next update, but none yet. Now also have:
PHP Notice: Undefined index: slideshow_navigation in /meteor-slides/includes/meteor-slideshow.php on line 17
Hello, after having included [meteor_slideshow] according to the manual the slideshow still not appers on my page.
I did not publish the page, had only a look on the preview.
Is this the reason or is there another problem with the plugin?
I am not familar with php or other programming (only a bloody user).
I have also following plugins in place: All in one SEO, Anything popup, Black Studio TinyMCE Widget, Encoder, Enable Media Replace, Fast Secure Contact Form, FeedWordPress, Login With Ajax, Redirect, User Access Manager, WordPress.com Stats, WP DoNotTrack.
Theme: Twentytwelve
Hopefully you could help in solving that problem.

I took over website maintenance from someone and I do not know where the meteor slides short code was placed. All I know is that it is shown on our home page. Is there someway I can track it? Was it embedded in the theme? I looked in the theme editor section and the CSS Stylesheet and can not find it anywhere. If I want to remove the slides from my homepage and move it to some other page, how can I do this if I can not find how it is being shown on my homepage??

Hi,
I know your plugin usually does not have a fullwidth and fullheight option for the slider, but I was wondering if you could help me with some css in order to make a full screen slider that goes beneath my header/main navigation(like a hero image slider).
I know with a neagtive margin I can make the slider move up to the top, but how can I make it fullwidth and fullheight? Using 100vh and 100vw does not work.
I really like your plugin due to its simplicity and have not found any other slider plugin this lightweight and simple.
Thanks!

Hello,
i am using your plugin on my website and changed it now to SSL (https). But all images from the slideshow are output with “http”. Is it possible to make them using the ssl protocol as well so I don’t have mixed content on my site?
thanks and best regards!
Cynthia
We’ve been using the same Meteor slideshow forever w/o any problems or changes. I just added an TLS cert to the Bluehost install so we could get HTTPS. Now the images in the slideshow are hidden via styling:

How can this be? What is adding this visibility style? The code hasn’t changed:

<?php if ( function_exists( 'meteor_slideshow' ) ) { meteor_slideshow(); } ?>

and the images are accessible, and the plugin settings are still good.
Would appreciate any help,
Justin
Hi Josh
Is there an options to have a different width (than set in the settings) for a specific slideshow.
On the hompepage, I would like to slideshow to be 400 by 300 pixels.
On all other pages, the slideshow will be 800 by 500 pixels.
Can this be done withmetadat in the shortcode, assuming I upload the images in the correct size?
Thanks
Dan
Hi
Can I use a video instead of a featured image?
Even a short local one uploaded to the media library.
Thanks
Dan
My slides are 900 x 720. The slideshow displays in a sidebar 242px wide, so when scaled the height should be 194px. I place the slideshow short tag inside a div explicitly set to height:194px. Meteor Slides generates a div inside mine with computed height 53px. Safari’s Web Inspector shows that the computed value 53px derives from meteor-slides.css:17, which reads height: auto !important .
The slideshow displays only the (vertical) center of the slides, with the top & bottom 70px cropped out.
How do I make Meteor Slides leave the height alone?

Please could you advise?

Hello Josh,
I would like to have 3 slideshow templates in my site.
Is that possible?

Hi Josh,
A few years ago I did a small slide show 120×150 with 20 images. Now I want to add a new slide show but at 500×500. But, it is defaulting to the size of the first slideshow and all the large images are thumbnails. I have tried adding metadata for the larger size but it isn’t working. Do I need to delete the first slideshow then redo the larger one and then rebuild the smaller one after that? Is there an easier solution to this?
If not, would suggest this as a feature request.
This plugin looks useful, but when I use a 1400X500 image and define the width and height as such in settings, there is still a large margin below the image and above the pagination circles.
Can this be resolved?

Hi Josh,
Thanks again for the great plugin.
I seem to have an issue with the responsiveness of the slider.
It does not resize when reducing the screen width.
Do you see anything wrong here?
Thanks
Dan
I have Suffusion set to responsive and everything responds as it should except Meteor-Slides. It doesn’t minimize at all. A slight reduction in screen size and it just drops down to a lower position and starts to go off the left-side of the screen leaving an empty gap on top. This has me stumped. Would greatly appreciate any help you can provide.
