howdy,
Here is a problem with showing thumbnails after click the “Media-selector” button.
When I create a folder name “*there is two japanese character using unicode*”, and put some images into the folder, then go to the post editor page to select them, the problem just happen.
I grep the resource and found while using unicode character, the “subfield” variable will contain a part of the seleted attachment image name.

but while creating folder with a totally alphabets and numeric name that won’t be happen. just report this issue if someone else have the same problem.
]]>Hi,
I need to order my uploads by date (new to old upload). Or I can named my images (ex. 20180612.jpg and 20180710.jpg) but it show first 20180612.jpg, second 20180710.jpg. However I need order like this: 20180710 and 20180612. (Differents are 2018-07-10 and 2018-06-12)
Is it possible to disable/remove the “Media-selector” button that’s showing up whenever I’m in the WordPress Post/Page editor? Admin users are confusing that with the WordPress “Add Media” button and I’m trying to keep things simple with content authoring for my organization’s web site.
]]>We are running WordPress with WooCommerce and have more than 10.000 products with 2 or more pictures each. Combined with the thumbnails (sometimes 13 different sizes) this bloated our uploads folder so extremely to the extent that we can’t even see all files in the folders because most hosters set the LimitRecursion to 10.000, so when we FTP on the server we only see 9998 files in a single folder.
I already purchased two other WordPress Media Library plugin because I wanted to move the pictures into subfolders, but with such a high number of file the interface doesn’t even load. Same with the cPanel File Manager, takes forever to load and then crashes… Now I wonder if your plugin could be the solution. Could you kindly tell me with how many files per folder you have tested it or if it works well with a large number of files?
Thanks and best regards!
]]>Looks like this plugin might have a compatibility issue with WordPress 4.9. Just after I upgraded to 4.9 MFM started to generate four extra files for each PDF I upload. It was working fine in 4.8 and 4.7.
These extra files are JPG copies of the PDF and are the three different sizes as defined in Settings/Media for Image files plus another presumably standard-sized one. It looks like WFM has somehow persuaded WP that PDFs are Image files. I deactivated WFM and an upload of a PDF worked without producing these extra file, so it’s definitely got something to do with this plugin.
Could be wrong about the explanation, but that’s what’s happening.
I realise the author seems to have abandoned this plugin, but is anybody else getting this? It’s an extremely useful tool for me and having set up quite an extensive folder structure in my Media Library I’m going to have to bite the bullet and just manually delete all these extra files every time I upload a PDF. Sometimes I do 10 at a time so that’s 40 files to delete. Or, deactivate it before and reactivate it after each time I do an upload. Unhappy bunny here but I suppose this is the sort of thing you have to expect from unsupported plugins.
Has any code-shark out there got time to dig into this ane find a way to avoid this symptom?

hi,
I have deleted loads of media files from my library, but they still show up in media file manager. why are they still there?

It’s great having all images organized into folders – with a logical structure… ??
eg: /wp-content/uploads/Tearsheets/mag-spreads/
A problem now appears – when loading nested images into a Page.
When you click on “Media-selector” – its display always shows All.
The “/Tearsheets/mag-spreads/Motion-Teacher/” folder does appear at the bottom of the list.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/fpd79oakxhg3v07/Media_Selector.jpg?dl=0
***
There are 17 images stored in the “Motion-Teacher” folder…
Hanna-01.jpg to Hanna-17.jpg to
***
It sure would be nice to have an additional toggle button – to remember the “Last Folder” used.
It would speed up loading those 17 images (one at a time).
***
Or to have the ability to load all 17 images – all at once, to a page…!
Or better – to have “Load All Selected”…
Also remembering the order – as the images were selected.
Maybe not all 17 images are needed on a particular page!
***
If one could load multiple images, to somehow add a couple “CR” after each image.
This way, all images will appear normally along the left side of the Page, with a couple spaces in between each one.
As compared to having one big image blob – and slowly pulling it apart… ??

Thanks for making WordPress better… ??

]]>Is Media File Manager ready for WordPress 4.7?
I hope to hear from you.
Best regards,

I have switched servers and am now getting the Internal Server Error popup, saying:
This request takes too long to process, it is timed out by the server. If it should not be timed out, please contact administrator of this web site to increase ‘Connection Timeout’.
My question is – is there any recommendation in terms of how much to increase ‘Connection Timeout’?
And what about “Disable set_time_limit() (not recommended)” in the settings? Does this have anything to do with this problem? And why is it not recommended.
Thanks, I love this plugin. Can’t live without it!!! ??
]]>Hello,
We’ve been using Media File Manager Advanced for awhile and found it very helpful. However, recently I noticed that subfolders were appearing odd in the Media Selector screen, as shown in this screenshot: https://i65.tinypic.com/scrzhx.png
There is only one 54 folder, with several subfolders, yet in the screenshot it appears as if there are multiple “54” folders.
The 54 folder is also a subfolder itself. Is there a way to make them appear properly? It is becoming hard to navigate.
Thanks!
]]>New user. I loaded plugin, created directories and subdirectories I needed.
When I got to page 7 of the instructions, “Usage of file selector”, the directories by date were there but none of the directories I created were visible.
What did I do wrong???? Thank you.

]]>I am using the Spacious theme for a (not yet online) website.
In the Media file manager I made folders and added pictures to them by FTP in the right folder. In the MFM folders I do see all those pictures.
BUT!
When on a page or post I want to add a picture, non of the made folders are showing and I cannot add a picture.
What is wrong?
I couldn’t find some pictures I had previously loaded and moved with Media File Manager. I then tried to find the pictures using Media File Manager and found that when I entered any subdirectory with picture files in it, the following error message appear.
SyntaxError: Unexpected token < [{"ids":177,"name":"dazaifu","isdir":1,"isemptydir":0,"isthumb":0,"norename":0,"id":"","thumbnail_url":"http:\/\/www.gojapango.com\/dev\/wordpress\/wp-content\/plugins\/media-file-manager\/images\/dir.png"},{"ids":109,"name":"dazaifu_tenmangu_shrine","isdir":1,"isemptydir":0,"isthumb":0,"norename":0,"id":"","thumbnail_url":"http:\/\/www.gojapango.com\/dev\/wordpress\/wp-content\/plugins\/media-file-manager\/images\/dir.png"},
I looked in the wp_posts table and could not find the images based on their file name. I have almost 9,400 images in the WordPress media system.
]]>I am disappointed, this excellent plugin conflicts with Yoast SEO and excellent Divi Page Builder by Elegant theme and also Page Builder by SiteOrigin!
Since recent updates (wordpress, plugins, themes) Media File Manager Advanced prevents the display of content pages that use a builder whatever it is when editing when Yoast SEO is also on …
I am far from alone in having this problem …. help!
Long ago that the plugin has not been updated.
I have uploaded images to a certain directory using Media File Manager but I can’t see them when I want to add them to my WP page. Filezilla shows they are there but they don’t show in WP.
Any ideas?

Do you know how can I let this plugin to be available for a non admin user, redactor for instance ?
Do I have to modify my function.php file ?
I use User Role Editor but I dont see which capability has to be added.

]]>Hello, I am using your plugin and it is very usefull, but it takes some work to select all the pictures and transfer them to a new folder,
can you please add a search function and a “select all” option? thanks!
Thanks for creating this plugin, it has greatly helped me organise my media items, however there are some features that I would like to see.
1. Bulk select images in a directory.
2. Ability to delete/rename directories
3. Better thumbnail display – often it fails to display the thumbnails for the images, this seems to be some form of timeout though often it seems to not even bother trying to load them.
]]>I’m using Jetpack to create image galleries, so my thumbnail paths look like this:
https://i0.wp.com/www.mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/…”
Once I move a file on my server, it’s looking for a non-existent file on wp.com because it also updates the path for this file (which was stored under the original upload path.)
Is there a way to regenerate this path for a gallery? Either manually or as part as an update to the plugin?
]]>I have scoured the Internet far and wide and this is the only plugin which seems to move images (lock, stock and barrel) to other folders which you created manually. Moves thumbnails, changes links in website and updates your database properly including the GUID. This is what I want and it works.
BUT!
Now I have 16000+ images and it takes nearly a minute to move one image to another folder.
If you move a complete folder, it is much much quicker but I have yet to find a plugin which allows you to choose where to upload the image into. And I am not talking galleries, categories, tags, blah blah blah. I’m talking physical folders which you created.
I was toying with the idea of uploading into a temp folder (call it ‘1’) and then move it to the right location using Media File Manager. Which would be lightning quick.
BUT WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG TO MOVE INDIVIDUAL IMAGES WHEN IT TAKES ALMOST NO TIME TO MOVE A COMPLETE FOLDER???
]]>Hi
Up to now, this plugin does what I pretend. I wanted to remove the organization of my Media folder in years and months and put back the files in just one folder and I think I am achieving with this.
However, I’d like that you include an option in next version to select all the items at once.
Many thanks
