I’m very happy with MaxGalleria lite and am happy to pay for the pro version.
Importing over 1,800 images and 62 galleries from a non-working NextGen gallery installation went almost flawlessly.
The only things I think it’s missing are the ability to gather galleries into albums and a more efficient way to reorder and sort images.

For me it is the best gallery! Eay to customize and use! Great job!

This might be getter than the other galleries, or it might not. The “Lite” version is so crippled, I can’t even test it. Yet another example of “Pay me to find out what’s in the box.”

MaxGalleria Lite is a great replacement for NextGen Gallery. Aside from the fact that it works the folks from Max Foundry provide terrific support just as they do for their WordPress Button plugin MaxButtons.
They’ve said albums are coming out in December 2013 so with their Nextgen Gallery Importer it was easy to convert my library over to a working plugin.

Used this plugin on some websites my husband did for family friends (which I help out with, adding images and such – one was a bakery (pallottaspastries.net), the other local landscaping company in Akron (boylesnursery.com)) and plan on using it when I complete the update of my brother-in-law’s web site as their Christmas present.
For someone who only knows basic html/css, and HATES installing complicated galleries that I can never seem to get 100% right, this was thankfully quick and easy.
They could use a few more options for layouts and sometimes it can be a pain to sort the gallery, but overall, few if any complaints. Definitely recommend it ??
