Hi,
I am not able to add new locations to new categories. The map doesn’t load in the back end. These are the messages I see in the console:
Loading Maps API with the jsapi loader is deprecated.
Google Maps JavaScript API error: InvalidKeyMapError
https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#invalid-key-map-error
Google Maps JavaScript API warning: SensorNotRequired https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#sensor-not-required
Hope someone can advise what to try?

]]>Hello,
I see that plugin wasn’t updated in a while, so I would like to know is it still maintained.
Also I would like to know if this plugin support marker clustering?
Thanks.
Hye and first of all thanks for this update. I was quite desperate to see this plugin goes away. The maps and shortcods are working like a charm and doesn’t interract with other plugins using googlemaps api key. One problem missing, and it’s strange s it is part of the 1.0.6 update changelog. I steel have the “There was an error with the Geocoding service” when editing a tag. I can’t locate.
Thanks for your work
Hi, I find that some countries don’t seem to be found automatically, and if I type the country name in to the Location box as I am editing the category, it shows up, but after I save the marker has gone somewhere else. For example ‘Argentina’ after saving is showing a marker somewhere in Arkansas. Last time I looked Argentina was a bit further South?
Can you let me know if I’m doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Five years ago when my husband and I rode our tandem bicycle from Seattle to Boston I setup a WooTheme called Postcard which allowed me to put in an address for each post and then it put a pin on the map.
They no longer update the theme and it has increasing issues with WP updates. I’ve tried getting support and am frustrated. At the moment I can no longer add images to new posts!
So I’m considering remaking the site in another theme that I develop in, Divi. But before I do I’m looking at how I might be able to retain the maps.
So I found your plugin and I’m wondering if there’ll be a way to convert the entries EASILY to your plugin or will it be a manual, post by post, operation.
I just looked and I imagine they have CPT setup (I’m a designer not dev). But for each post I have the option to have map on or off and then I can put in an address which it plots or I can add Longitude & Latitude.
I’m afraid our site is forever stuck in this dead theme. I hope you’ll tell me a solution. Thanks.
]]>To wait Erik take interest again on his nice original plugin, here, my modifications on Github to make it compatible with WPML and fix the API Google error by hardcoding your key in the 2 files modified. Find YOUR_GOOGLE_API_ID_HERE and put yours there.
=> https://github.com/MisterWP/map-my-posts
Do not hesitate to fork it the solve the trick of hardcoding and check if everything is ok about WPML (for wordpress experts only).
Hope this project will not die… ??
]]>I think is easy
https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/examples/map-simple
Could you add different shortcodes for different categories, or labels (including extras added by other plugins)?
]]>Hi folks,
I also got the google map couldn’t load java issue recently.
Figure out a patch solution for this with file “MapMyPosts.php”
Search for “gooogle.load” and add following code as parameter
– google.load(“visualization”, “1”, {packages: [“geochart”]}, {other_params: ‘key=enter your key here’});
google.load(‘maps’, ‘3’, {other_params: ‘sensor=false&key=enter your key here’});
This will bring your embedded map back on for now.
Hope Erik will keep working on it.
Cheers
Ben.z
Hi Erik,
Do you have plans to update the Plugin? There’s no others out there to link locations to categories that I know of. It would be amazing to keep it going!
]]>I get this error when loading page with shortcode:
Oops! Something went wrong.
This page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details.
Any hint? Is this related with latest google maps api update?
Thanks !
Is this plugin can display on index and posts both?
Map on index appear all posts locations and map on posts appear each posts location?
Yes or no?
I had this working really nicely in the theme Twenty Sixteen but have now changed to The Minimalist Pro theme and the geochart no longer seems to show in the page.
It was fine in the live preview mode but now I’ve activated the new theme the geochart no longer shows and instead there’s just an empty box.
Please can you advise?
Thanks!
Claire
Hello! I’m trying a first time install & usage of this plugin and have gone through all of the referenced installation steps.
While attempting to associate a location with the TAGS in my site, I enter the country as “United States” and a city & state in the location field (example: “Palo Alto, CA”). However, I receive the error of “There was an error with the Geocoding service” with no further notes/instructions on what to do.
I’ve tried to remedy the issue by getting a Google API key with the following APIs enabled:
Google Maps Geocoding API
Google Static Maps API
Google Maps Roads API
Strangely, I’ve found that if I enter certain cities in the ‘location’ field (such as “New York, NY” or “Los Angeles, CA”), then it works – but it won’t work with other cities (such as the aforementioned “Palo Alto, CA”). (If it helps define the issue, I’ve found that I’ll get the error message with NY or LA if I don’t use proper case, such as “los angeles, ca” vs. “Los Angeles, CA”.)
As a quick fix, I’ve been entering NY or LA as a city, then dragging the marker to the desired city; but it seems like there’s something wrong in general.
Any & all help is appreciated!

I’ve added an APIKey in the configuration and via script tag.
Works great still on our development site, without api key.

How can I choose the Geochart layout for my sidebar widget map?
I want 2 maps, 1 in my sidebar widget and 1 in 800px for a page called “map”. If I use the [mmp-geochart] shortcode in my widget I get a huuuuge map since I’ve defined it to be 800px (for my map-specific page) in the settings.
If I dont use the shortcode but the widget, I cant seem to choose the geochart, it only gives me the options of satellite, hybrid etc layout.

I made it worked on a page https://blog.etiennebretteville.com/map with the shortcode

Hi,
I’d like to use this with my custom taxonomy that applies to a custom post type that is exactly like regular posts but separate. (This website records online harassment incidents so I decided to keep the incidents and their location separate from the regular blog.)
Help with this?

I am new to wordpress but have done a ton of research and I just cant seem to figure out how to make this plugin work. I am using Beaver Builder as a page editor and when I try to add this plugin using the page builder and selecting wordpress widgets then trying to drop in the Map my Posts Geochart it just keeps “thinking” and freezes without adding it to my page. Does anyone know of a solution? Is it not compatible with beaver builder? thanks!

Hi,
I recently added the plugin and the map is displayed correctly on my page but it’s not working with any of the tags on my post. Could you please tell me how to display the countries mentioned from the post on the map (China, USA, etc).
Thanks,

Fist of all, map my posts is an awesome plugin! Just lately I’ve had some errors which slowed down my admin, so I found this.
With all plugins turned off and Wp debug true, turning on the map my posts plugin these errors were returned:

Do you think you will be updating the code anytime soon?
]]>Hello,
I have been reading forums where people are able to disable the scrollwheel on Google maps embeds so that scrolling down a page does not lead to zooming in the map (only upon a click, for example). It seems to be rather easy, but how can I do that for Map My Post specifically? I think that would really add to the user experience of this great plugin.
]]>i, I have put the widget “map my posts” to the sidebar but its not responsive!
You actually ask for width and height pixels so its not responsive at all when I switch devices.
How can I fix that?
Will you fix this in the update?
Thanx
