]]>Recently, I wanted to change my theme in WordPress so I used my maintenance mode plug in to shut down the website to any external viewers. As I did this, when I loaded the next page, it gave me the maintenance mode message. Ever since, I have not been able to access my website AT ALL! I keep hearing people talking about deleting the “.maintenance” file but I don’t have a clue what it is or where to find it!
To see the message it brings up go here: https://www.macawmarketing.co.uk
Someone please please please help me on this!! I have put so much work into my site.
]]>Maintenance Mode Plugin Locks Up Site During Updates – Anytime you try to go anywhere it gives you the maintenance mode screen. Not good. Even when trying to log in again, even though I was already logged in as Admin. I removed it from all of my sites and my clients sites.
I ended up having to edit the maintenance-mode.php file so that the code:
elseif ( $optval == 'read' && current_user_can('read') ) { return true; }
else { return false; }
now reads `elseif ( $optval == ‘read’ && current_user_can(‘read’) ) { return true; }
else { return true; }`
Once I got that done I was able to get back to my dashboard, then plugins then deactivated and deleted this plugin.
I then found that the automatic update for the WordPress (from 3.4 to 3.4.1) was hung up and had to restart the update.

]]>I was wondering if it would be OK to use this product to lock out an entire site from the public but allow Members Access?
There are other plugins which allows Members Access to specific posts or pages. I’ve read some of these state that it blocks out an entire site but I haven’t seen it yet. Instead, a person would end up on the page with excerpts and a login form. Possibly, the excerpts can be removed but the page still doesn’t look right.
With Maintenance Mode, a page appears informing everyone that the site is under maintenance. This message could be changed to something like “Members Only”. Then, a custom login slug could be provided to those Members so they can actually view the blog.
My specific concern would be whether or not search engines still index the pages that are within “Maintenance Mode”. I wouldn’t want any of that to be viewable.
Thanks.
]]>I was using this plugin for some time on single site WordPress. After I moved my site to multisite install of the same version 3.3.2 it is not working what a pity.
Is there any chance to look at this problem? I can help with some debugging.

]]>Hello,
I have moved a localhost site to a live server that does not have the DNS pointed to the live server yet. Another words I haven’t got to the “Welcome to WordPress” Install WordPress screen. Can I just ftp the Maintenance Plugin to my plugins folder before pointing the DNS?
]]>I’v installed, configured and enabled the plugin, but the website is still visible.
The plugin is not working as it appears that it should.
Environment Info
I’m using a WordPress network installation on my server and the awesome Domain Mapping plugin. We are releasing new magazines every second month. The Maintenance Mode Plugin is installed on all sites in the network, but the maintenance mode is only used on the blogs that aren’t yet released to the public.
Problem description
When not logged in to the site or the network, I now see the following php error instead of the maintenance site by the plugin. This happens only on the blogs in my network where the plugin is set to maintenance mode “on”:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_rtl() in /home/myserver/public_html/wp-includes/general-template.php on line 2102
Any suggestions or ideas? It worked fine before WordPress 3.3.
]]>I activated and now I cant login with my admin account…
]]>I am kinda new to wordpress so maybe I did it wrong. but I installed this plugin to keep the site in maintenance mode while I build the site. The site is now done but when I deactivated the plugin every page is blank and all my customizations are gone. Like it reverts to the way the site looks right after install. I do have a theme installed.
If I reactivate the plugin everything is there and I can see all the content. so it’s not like the content is being deleted. but without the site in maintenance mode all the custom content simply does not show.
I even tried to delete the plugin but to no avail. I reinstalled the plugin and everything is there. But obviously cannot get it out of maintenance mode.
Please help, this really sucks.
]]>If the Splash Page Theme is switched to the WordPress Login Theme, I get a

Thank you for looking into it,

If activated I get the “Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_rtl() ” error… as soon as I disable it I do not…
]]>My Facebook ‘Like’ button thinks my WordPress site is still in Maintenance Mode, even though I deactivated and even deleted the Maintenance Mode plugin. I’ve tried getting new code from Facebook for the Like button a couple of times with the same result.
Does anyone have a solution?

]]>Hi this plugin definitely works in that it show the maintenance page, but I’m logged in as admin (obviously as i activated the plugin) and thats all i can see. I can understand whats preventing me from seeing my site – I also tried a couple of similar alternative plugins and I seem to run into the same issue, so i don’t think its the plugin – anyone have an idea of whats actually going on, thanks
