This plugin works, we have it in use since a long time – but we have to patch the codebase over and over again with every update we do. Performance-wise, this plugin is a joke – they waste a lot of unnecessary SQL queries upon EVERY pageload. Never seen something similar – but they do their full initialization queries within the frontend and within every AJAX call.
We checked using Query Monitor: Upon every page refresh using F5, we see queries like these being performed – have you every seen something like this? This all belongs into a “once upon plugin activation init-routine“

Some of these queries run multiple times, their results are not even cached. They have several functions like these:

Performance-wise, this is a complete joke. Luckily, not all devs work like this – just imagine having 20 plugins installed and every plugin spending 10-20 unnecessary SQL calls – you’d end up with 100 WASTED sql queries rather fast. No wonder that most WP pages are slow af.
If you can, pick a different mail provider instead of Brevo / SIB.

I use the plugin together with a paid account from Brevo, before that with the free version.
The plugin is easy to use, most of the functions can be set in the Brevo account itself, which is very practical.
I use almost all the functions: The e-commerce analyses, the transactional mails and the forms. Everything is quite simple. Especially the SMTP functionality is a blessing, so I can send all WordPress mails via Brevo and have a detailed log in the user interface.
I had some minor application problems here and there and also found a bug. The support team reacted promptly to this and, in the event of a bug, published a plugin update within 24 hours.
What I miss is the automatically added product information. With Mailchimp I had all Woocommerce Products with Text, Price and Image in Mailchimp. In Brevo I have to add them manually.

Brevo is exactly what I needed. Here I am paying for the number of e-mails I am sending out and not the number of contacts (which I had to do with the tool I used before). And it is much cheaper as well. Brevo is easy to use and reliable, I am very happy with it!

It is very satisfactory for our Communication team to use Brevo in email marketing campaigns. The interface is friendly and secure. We can put together lists and segments to make personalized shipments to the database. Highly recommended for marketing lovers.

It’s a good system for sending newsletters. The free version allows the graphic creation of newsletter content in an easy and impressive way. Great statistics on openings of emails sent and how many people clicked on the links you put in the emails. I would have put 5 stars but I asked them a question and they didn’t answer: newsletters (in the free version) are sent with the sender corresponding to the mail I set in the panel. If many people who receive it put the newsletter in the spam folder, do I run the risk of having my mailbox blacklisted? Why isn’t the sender a dummy email so as to prevent this risk (as I have seen other providers do)?

Brevo is the perfect solution for my business, easy contact list management. It can be easily integrated with various services thanks to the APIs. The automations editor are very well done and useful. I am still using the free version thanks to the 300 free emails per day. But I will definitely upgrade when necessary.

My business has time sensitive coupons. I have 1000 people on my list. At 250 e-mail limit per day the coupon would be expiring by the time the last group received it. I had to break my group into 5 segments which was at times confusing and time consuming. I definitely found it more confusing to use breve than mailerlite or Mailchimp. Switched to mailer lite which covers the needs for my small business

I use Brevo since it was called Sendinblue and I love it. the plugin to integrate everything with WordPress websites is complete and quick to use, also for smtp use. It is really simple to start using Brevo on your website even if you don’t know the whole platform (which I know), but it simpler to use for beginners. Recommended.

Je recommande Brevo. L’interface est vraiment facile à utiliser et j’en suis très satisfait. Nous avons pas mal d’options disponibles dans la version gratuite pour démarrer, et ensuite, dans la version payante que je recommande, nous avons d’autres possibilités qui sont vraiment au top. Ok, transactional emails are not coming through, not one. They tell you, just ask your customers to whitelist these ip adresses…
So, in order to help my customers in advance they actually telling me to publish a large banner on top of my website, that says: “Hey, before you order from us, you first need to whitelist 5 ip adresses. Otherwise you might not get your account details.”
We wont help you, because just some customers are not getting your emails. Ok, so i pay for something, and then its normal to not get a solution for a problem? Right.

The GOOD > offers startup’s a low cost entry into transactional SMTP and Mail Marketing/Remarketing. The customer support side is relatively good and usually receives a response within 1 working day, a maximum of 2, on average. The mail marketing tools, customer lists and generally all the tools their platform provides for Marketing purposes are useful for a small business.
The BAD > the transactional SMTP functionality is unreliable, even when connected via an API key, so much so that one has to look at the Woo Orders page daily to reconcile orders that did not reach the Sales Inbox. This usually occurs for two reasons 1.) The New Order Email did not send out of WP via Brevo SMTP (there are no logs available through the Brevo SMTP Plugin or their platform to troubleshoot this, so it’s a total mystery. 2.) Their low-cost entry offering uses shared IP addresses for transactional emails, which since summer of 2023 have been under attack by scammers, causing the public IP’s to be blacklisted on Spamcop, thus causing Softfails (e.g. email is sent out from WP, but does not reach the Sales mailbox due to their infrastructure shared IP’s being blocked for sending out spam emails.
As you can imagine, the BAD is debilitating for a small business, because 1.) didn’t occur when Brevo was used via a third party such as the WP SMTP plugin and 2.) Unless you fork out ￡150 per annum for a dedicated static IP, you cannot guarantee email deliverability to your sales mailbox to process orders, thus potentially not processing orders, shipping late, and generally ruining your business in a hurry. The process of onboarding accounts should be tightened to stop scammers from using the platform for malicious purposes, thus costing every other legitimate user on the same infrastructure operational issues.
At the time of writing, during Jan and Feb 2024, the Soft Fail emails through their platform were in the 20% range of all transactional emails sent, all because their platform’s public IPs are being blacklisted because of a few bad apples on their platform.
So much promise but so frustrating and such a drain on labour resource to have to manually reconcile everything in the past 6+ months. If it lasts, we may have to look to alternatives.

No working captcha solution. Recaptcha removes around 10-20 points in Lighthouse Mobile and the promised Turnstile integration never arrived.

The plugin doesn’t have a way to automatically add form submissions to Brevo using Elementor which is a poor experience and makes me wonder if Brevo was a good choice. Isn’t this the most important task this plugin is supposed to do? When will this be fixed?

Really nice plugin. The form builder is a little clunky and counter intuitive, but nothing that can’t be handled. If you rely on email marketing/list building for your business then this is definitely a plugin you should have in your arsenal.

Been using Mailchimp for a long time, then switched to Sendinblue as they have no contact limit in their pricing. Unfortunately, the plugin and service feels quite buggy, support takes ages even if you are a paying loyal customer. Not good. Would be great if they took customers serious.
