Simple and easy to use! I’ve been using it for over a year now.
Thank you so much for this plugin!

good plugin to collect email addresses.

While this plugin does what it’s supposed to do, there is no way to customize to reduce spam… I get more ‘subscribers’ by bots than I do real people, then I have to sift through and delete the bots… gets annoying quick.
Also, when selecting the users to delete, be sure you do check the check box else clicking anywhere else will take you to download it.

Each time you click on check box for a user email it redireck you all time to there site and list is not in alphabetical order, very hard to look for a specific one. No email verification.

After using the plugin for months, one day I look at my site, and there is a spam link from the plugin developer on the front-end. It wasn’t there before, and I didn’t update the plugin. Really shady. I’m removing it right now.
And even without the spam, the plugin is really crappy anyways. It doesn’t even have email validation. They didn’t put much effort on doing this plugins, and you can find something better out there. I encourage you to look for other plugins.

If you need a simple subscriber list this is it. Maybe does not have more options, like edit users or confirmation mail, but is simple and works great.

Thank you for very usefull plugin! Great work.
]]>Rating: 3 stars
Fairly straightforward to use. Gives different options on where the form is located.
Downsides:
* Not simple to change look of it…bolding or underline, for example.
* There was a minor bug, resolved by me. See support area.

Great, simple and easy – just what I needed to get visitors to subscribe and it works fine with WP 4.0

Just what I’ve been looking for… something really “simple” with capability to export CSV.
Now I Just need to modify with a little css to make it perfect!
Thanks!

Nice lightweight plugin but please FIX a bug.
]]>Rating: 5 stars
Lightweight and easy to use

I love this, but I wish there was a way for it to tell me when someone subscribed—I don’t check the list every day.
]]>Rating: 5 stars
This is what I was looking for.
Since it is free and doesn’t have much reviews, people are not talking about it.
I found it accidentally:)

Did some customizing myself in the CSS.
form.sml_subscribe {
width: 310px;
height: auto;
}
p.sml_name {
clear: both;
height: 40px;
padding-top: 5px;
}
label.sml_namelabel {
border-top: 8px #fff solid;
display: block;
width: 100px;
float: left;
height: 25px;
}
input.sml_nameinput {
border: 1px #2b2b2b solid;
border-radius: 3px;
display: block;
width: 200px;
float: right;
}
p.sml_email {
clear: both;
height: 40px
}
label.sml_emaillabel {
border-top: 8px #fff solid;
display: block;
width: 100px;
float: left;
height: 25px;
}
input.sml_emailinput {
border: 1px #2b2b2b solid;
border-radius: 3px;
display: block;
width: 200px;
float: right;
}
p.sml_submit {
clear: both;
}
input.btn sml_submitbtn {
}

I have only just installed it as a widget in my sidebar but it does what I need, which is to collect email addresses which I can export to gmail or Mailchimp.
Re the validation comments in other reviews – it will accept any old text as input but it only seems to add valid email addresses to the list.
This is the kind of stuff that makes WordPress a winner, thanks.

Developer was right, there isn’t anything else out there like it.
I don’t need to do email blasts from my website every time there’s a new post (which is NOT used as a blog btw).
I just needed something that looked professional that gives my visitors the option to provide me with their email addresses and names.
That’s it.
I can do my own blasts and I can manage my own database.
As long as I can export the list to excel, I’m good to go.
Maybe when I decide to have more “active participation” and conversation on my website… I’ll look into another plug in.
But I doubt it… because after all… isn’t that what social media’s for?
B.
