We were in a sudden conflict with BuddyPress Group Email Subscription and WP/BP updates where the user was hanging on a simple wall post because emails were being generated before the ajax page update on the user end.

We tried this plugin to queue the mail and speed up the enduser ajax side. Worked like a charm now using latest BP/WP. Configurations require some planning and load experience as the queue is emptied with wp-cron – so it will prove to be a balancing act. We have timestamps built into our email template which allows us not to see the queue delay – 2 minutes at most which is great.

Will be donating to the great work done here – something that should probably be added to WP or at least BP core to prevent bottlenecking as we experienced with all of 5 subscribers. Will be interested to see how it works when we have 1000.
