I’ve been using LWA since ver ~2.1.2 (I think) on 4+ sites (currently on 11 sites) and have never run into any such issue. I originally used the plugin as-is, but later I began making adjustments (JS, PHP, HTML) here and there for my different clients, and the instructions made it reasonably simple. Good plugin, and I recommend it.

In my search for a plugin for 2-factor authentication for our website, I gladly accepted Pixelite’s recommendation as a satisfied Events Manager user. However, after the installation initially went smoothly, it got extremely stuck in the implementation and even led to the point that I could no longer log in to my site as an admin – the error came up that my login data supposedly no longer worked correctly. Fortunately, I had tested it in parallel via incognito mode in another browser window and was thus able to avoid a lot of damage and trouble, as I was still logged in elsewhere and was able to deactivate the plugin or try out different settings…
In the end, the solution was quite simple – I had to add the AJAX effects to the regular WP login forms, i.e. check the corresponding box in the settings. But I only came up with this by trial and error, as the documentation is completely inadequate.
So be careful when installing and using the plugin – don’t let it become a nasty trap and exclude yourself from your site!
And @pixelite – you should really think carefully about whether you publish such a plugin in this form and with this risk for the user. But I will keep the plugin and see if it does what it is supposed to do or if there are more problems with it…

This plugin has been my first choice in years so far; not so easy to find another well documented, with a clear step by step implementation and not trying to bloat your code with unrequested features and fashion banners all around the back end.

This is almost the perfect plugin … but where it has fallen short is in getting questions and concerns addressed. Yes, I’m a paying customer and filed an inquiry on the “Premium Support” page, but like the three questions I have had here on the free forum, NO response.
In two cases I figured out workarounds, in the third matter I’m stuck and the client is waiting on this and this alone to launch.
I do not at all love leaving this kind of review but it does seem to be a bad habit this team has developed. At the time of writing this review there were only about 30% of the issues that have been resolved. (5 of 16) … so if you are considering this plugin you need to know you’re probably “on your own”. And this should be particularly concerning if you are thinking about purchasing the pro version.

I have used this very neat login utility on a number of websites. It is quick, simple and easily customizable to your website look. Thanks for making this available!

I thought this plugin was useful but it turns out, the lost password and register links were broken. Marcus also hasn’t responded back to me and it’s been about two days. Support is slow and/or nonexistent.

I have created a custom portal in WordPress and this plugin makes it easy to keep members in the custom portal and not send the to the default WP login pages. WordPress has a terrible issue with sending members to the WP Admin Dashboard and exposing the backend of the site to people who should not see it or who are completely confused when they end up there. This plugin is part of my process to circumvent this behavior.

In mi case the plugin was not working in Elementor Popup, maybe because the modal was loading his own scripts and ignoring the plugin scripts.
I solved this by adding the content of login-with-ajax.js in the popup template, now it’s working perfectly.
Anyway maybe this little issue can happen in other situations, it is very common.

I use this on my sites and recommend it regularly.

Was easy to integrate to my (custom) theme, in replacement of another plugin no longer compatible with WordPress.
Recommended if you have to deal with registered users.
