I’ve been using this plug in for years – and I’ve been remiss not leaving a review. I run a single site with a core set of portfolio type items that have a general information page.
Because of this plugin, I can type the description in a portfolio type post and have just the pieces I want replicated on the product page or in a blog post about the item. That’s what databases are supposed to do – avoid replication of the same data. I decide to update a description, I fix it in one place and anywhere I’ve used that description gets updated.
It took trial and error and poring over the documentation, which is really good, to make it all work, but it was completely worth it. Thank you!

the plugin gives you the flexibility to control the display of posts in many ways and by many filters.
The many options available allow for insertion of posts lists by category in different ways, even in the same page. The pagination option works very well. posts can be displayed in full or title or excerpt.
It may require definition of css to get what you want. But there was plenty documentation in the plugin page to learn how to do it. (more examples of css setting would be nice)

Just one hitch: the post titles don’t wrap properly when viewed on mobile devices (a huge disadvantage). Instead, words break at odd places on small screens. I lowered my rating to 2 stars.

What is not to like about this plugin. Add a plugin to enable categories and tags to pages and other CPT’s and this plugin and you have the full ability to display categories in just about any way you like without having to resort to templates.
This is a **MUST** in all my sites and one of the first plugins I reach for. It’s super lightweight, offers great flexibility, and a route into querying pages, post and other CPT’s to display anywhere, exactly what you want.

If you want a quick and easy way to show a T.O.C. (i.e. “sitemap”), this plugin does it for free. I’ve been using it for over 5 years on several websites and have never had any problems with it.

I first installed List Category Posts in 2015 in WP running on a Linux server. It has worked flawlessly ever since, through multiple WP updates. I am still using it on WP 5.7. My hosting service does automatic WP updates and this plugin just keeps on going.
The documentation is well-written and easy to follow. I don’t always remember exactly what this plugin’s capabilities are, but when I want it to do something new, I have always found a way to meet my goal with this extraordinary tool. I highly recommend it.

As a 70yr old novice managing our association’s WordPress site I have found this plugin and available support (Youtube and documentation) really helpful in sorting our posts. I only needed, and can only manage two basic categories but this great little plugin worked really well for me.
This plugin solved the real problem of differentiating posts and pages for our members and non-members.

I had to remove the plugin. It worked fine at first and displayed the lists I wanted, but after a while it “broke” the customizer, which did not load anymore at all. Took me a while to find out that it was caused by this plugin. Maybe it needs to be updated.

This is one the first plugins I installed when I started by site three years ago, and continues to be extremely helpful. I use it to make sure my blog content, when presented by category or sub-category, doesn’t bog down with too many old and forgotten events.
If you like to organize your blog content by category anyway, it doesn’t take much to present the content to your users on a separate page.

This a nice plugin and ideal for the requirements it serves. I would have liked to have seen a means to utilise a dropdown on a page itself of all or a selection of categories, which listed the relative posts of a chosen category.

A recent update caused the plugin to stop working on my site. The default excerpt_tag parameter somehow got changed from <span> to <div>. Luckily, I quickly found the list of available parameters on github, manually set it back to <span> in my shortcodes, and everything is once again working perfectly.
