Just tried out your plugin and I find it to be better than the standard WP Recent Posts plugin. However, I would like help to hide the featured image via CSS. I tried using

.sp-latest-posts-widget.latest-posts .media {
display: none;
}

But that made all content disappear. Please advise.

Hi, I added three blocks (but I’d add 5 of them) and the first two are ok (with 2 or 3 posts for each category). The problem comes with the third one.
I use a particular category (VR) and no posts show up.

Not only, I tried using one of the two categories that are ok and with them, the third one works fine. So, now I have 3 categories: 2 are ok (and they show up even in the third block) but 1 are not ok.
I also tried to create a new category, but nothing. It woks only with those 2 categories.
Furthermore, what sound strange is that I tried the same steps in another website and it works fine.
So, I really don’t know what else to do.

All the category are done in the same way. There are no differences among them.

the plugin might be great but unfortunately it is not respecting the wordpress formatting settings for date and time. It uses its own formatting for the date which is not compatible with international websites using Non-English-Formatting.

Would be great if you could fix that.

I’ve been dealing with this problem for a long time. If I just plug in the Latest Posts plugin it works good, but every time I try to change the ‘Categories’ input, I can’t save my post and I get this response
‘Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.’.
And no matter what I try it can’t get unstuck.

Is there a way to make the title of the section, in my case ‘Latest from the Newsfeed’ clickable so I can take the visitor to my main news page when clicked?

I use this plugin but aftar an update the images of the posts are not loading correctly.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the plugin, as well making sure the blog posts have images attached to them.

Help would be appreciated!

I have two widgets of latest post in my homepage, I’d like to hide the widget if there aren’t posts to show. At the moment if the category is empty the latest post widget shows only the title. Is it possible?

Wondering if there is a way to get thumbnail smaller? I ask this EVEN WHILE acknowledging that when I tried out many other plugins such as this…there were options to get different sizes. HOWEVER, one thing: with your plugin is that I believe it offers the standard WP 150 by 150 size thumbnail (correct me if im wrong) BUT… when I run google page speed with this plugin I get 100% score.

The other plugins with options added as well as sizes of thumbnail all give me “OPTIMIZE IMAGE AND OR COMPRESS the thumbnail to get a better score. As all my pictures are reduced and compressed to their lowest amounts, this is a barricade for a thumbnail I cant seem to hurdle.
However, as I only use 4 latest posts,,, your larger size image thumbnails work PERFECT WITH GOOGLE PAGE SPEED.!
Could you advise and or explain this to me??

I am trying to use the widget, when i try to save a name eg “ABCD” and choose a category from bottom, then when i save the result. It comes back to the first category from dropdown.

Although the wordpress blog is integrated into a non-wordpress site, it is exactly the same when I view the wordpress directly.

Hello. When I add the Latest Posts widget to my sidebar, the thumbnails are huge, nearly filling the width of the sidebar area. The title, time, and date are all forced underneath the thumbnail. Is there a way to adjust the thumbnail size?

Two suggestions for latest-posts.php
Line 91 – Remove extra “.” (period) after the title – assume this was just a typo.
Line 92 – Add spans with css classnames to style time and date separately. Example, This way we can hide the time, but leave the date.
