Hi I am having issues with the download link going to a 404 page on the latest version of woocommerce. I deactivated all plugins and found that woo is the issue. Is this a known bug? TIA.
]]>I’m getting the above message when clicking on the .jpg file download link. I’ve added the file url path as i’m supposed to, in the Downloads section. Can I not use this plugin for downloading jpgs or pngs?
]]>Good day,
I currently run my WordPress site on an nginx server that does not provide .htaccess support, or me customizing the nginx config file. Will this plugin still work knowing that limitation?
Hi,
I installed your plugin and the category widgets add on. But I don’t see any file when adding the shortcode: [lana_download text=”Download” counter=”0″ orderby=”date” order=”desc”]
Also I don’t see the widget in elementor.
When I enter the shortcode [lana_download id=”379″] the Download-Text ist shown. But no file name, no descrition etc.
But I want all the files to be shown, with a category filter, file name, description, maybe an preview image.
What’s to do?
]]>I am looking for a solution to list many PDFs in a table or a line-by-line listing, and allow for direct download of the PDF.
Something like this result:
https://share.zight.com/L1uynzn0
Would that be possible with Lana Downloads? I am specifically looking for a way to operate on/set up many files at once. Not one-by-one. Thanks!
]]>Hi,
Your download plugin is amazing. Clean and effective. Thank you.
I’m running a site on a localhost where I would like to have a page (Online Docs) with a list of categories from lana downloads. And if I open/click each category I would get a list of related downloads from that category.
Maybe because I’m a newbie to wordpress but I’m having a hard to acomplish this.
I have installed Category Widgets Addon but not sure if this is the solution because I cant see anything change.
I have created the page but is it even possible to list lana download categories automatically?
I feel a bit stupid and lost too. So I really hope the community can help me.
Thanks in advance.
]]>Hello,
I have seen your message on an other topic (closed), could you point me to the direction of the addon please ?
“I have an addon plugin for Lana Downloads Manager that is specifically designed not to download pdf files but to display them if you need them so I can send them to you.“
Thank you
Best
I was too quick in posting I found a second tread with the answer.
Thanks and sorry to bother
Hello and first of all. I want to say thank you so very much for creating such a simple and yet easy download manager to use! I have looked at others. But I think yours is the best because of it’s simplicity and fast setup.
Just one question though. I do like the Download text. But I was wondering how can I turn this into a button or using CSS?
Are you able to assist me with this please?
Thank you so very much!
Kind regards,
Erica
Hi there,
please add a feature that I can display categories from a specific category. A shortcode would be nice, with order options: asc, desc, order by date etc.
Or please create a Gutenberg block. The legacy widget is not useable on a block based site if you want to ddisplay downloads on a specific page.
Thank you for the great plugin,
Tobi
Hi there,
Firstly, thank you for this awesome plugin. I happen to stumble upon a previous topic on opening pdf files on new tab dated 6 months back. Is there an option integrated into the existing Lana Download Manager plugin, or is it still a separate plugin?
]]>Hello,
This is a fantastic looking plugin! ??
Before we download and set it up, I wanted to check with you whether there is any way that it can restrict specific downloads by users on a page until an action is completed (such as an email address entered).
Would appreciate if you could let me know.
Many thanks in advance for your reply.
]]>Hi, I have found a little bug in your function lana_downloads_manager_parse_file_path in file lana-downloads-manager.phb, line 1390.
The problem is for testing purposes in windows server at localhost. With the last update you compare $file_path and $wp_uploads_dir, and the comparison fails in some cases as there are some diference in slashes of windows server routes.
I found the problem is solved easily if you use wordpress normalize function in line 1385 like that $file_path = wp_normalize_path(realpath( $file_path ));
Thank you very much
]]>Hi. We are looking at using the plugin to put the downloads on a private page. Are the downloads hidden from the public, both in the file system and the website?
]]>Hi Lana, I’m new to using your plugin, which so far has seemed very good and easy to use.
Is there an add-on to add the download link of a document from Elementor?
Thanks in advance!
]]>Dear Support Team,
I have updated my sites to WordPress 6.1 and Lana Download 1.7.1 and now, every time to try to download a file using the lana URL or even trying to save a lana download post, I am getting the following error message:
"Local file with an absolute path is not allowed"
I didn’t change any configuration, just updated. It was working before the update.
I am facing the same issue in two different sites hosted with different hosting providers. So, it seems it is not a server issue.
I have another site on one of the same servers with WordPress 5.9 and Lana Download Version 1.5.0 and there the downloads are working without problem.
As test proposes, I have downgraded to different versions of Lana Download on one site with Worpress 6.1. and the downloads are working with Lana Download Version 1.5.0. Also, the lana download posts are saving properly.
Do you know what is causing this issues in the newer versions of lana download and how to solve it?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
Jose
Under the File Manager section and the File(URL) field it says, “You don’t have permission to edit files”
I’m logged in with an admin account.
The changelog says “add edit_files permission check.” I’m wondering if that’s the cause of the problem.
Thank you for your help!
Best regards,
Mark
]]>I have tried to add the download links (PDFs and EPUBs) from google drive and one drive and in both platforms the download does not work.
When I click on the permanent link it downloads a “file” without formatting.
thats the file link:

screenshot in lana manager:

and this is the file that downloads:

Can you tell me what am I doing wrong? or what storage services does it work with?
]]>Good evening and thank you for the fantastic plugin (practical and lightweight) that you have made available in the WordPress community.
I really like the plugin, I plan to use it in some of my websites however I need to know how do I get the download count for each file based on the lana-id. Surely it can be done via a simple php snippet.
Another thing I would like to ask is the following. Could you add a connection with the database that would allow us to manually change the download count directly in the back-end?
Personal tip: other plugins like this offer this option, it’s better if you don’t fall behind.
Once again thank you for the plugin and keep up the hard work.
]]>Hello,
When using a shortcode, is it possible to define the downloading of a file (type pdf) in a new browser tab?

]]>Hi
Is it possible to add svg or eps files? When I’m trying to upload them they are all greyed out.

]]>when I click to insert the file to download on my blog page, the file selection list appears in ascending order so the most recent item is at the bottom.
I would like in the list that the item I entered last is first in the list, How can I do? Thanks
I put a series of download shortcodes into bullet points, and they work just fine, however the spacing between them is more like paragraph spacing than bullet point spacing. Any idea why that might be, or what I could do to fix that?
]]>Hi, this is a great tool to track downloads.
–It seems it’s tracking only unique downloads not all, is there a way I can customize it to track all downloads not only unique?
— How can I disable the download numbers in the front end?
Hi,
thanks for this powerful plugin.
can we restrict files by user roles or by logged in users?
hi, I have 2 pdf files in the same article to download.
I created 2 downloads and everything works.
but the counter always counts only 1 to 1 file and 0 to the other.
I, on the other hand, have downloaded them at least 10 times
what am I doing wrong?
thanks
]]>I have added 3 files in lana-download by adding ‘download’ files in Media library. Here is the page with download link https://intranetssl.net/support/repository/
When I click on any of the link to download the file on local PC, page simply shows other download file name.
It does not download the file. It does not show ‘download counter’ also.
What is wrong?
]]>Hi,
I have buttons on product page like: ../download/25472
which refer directly to .pdf inside hosting folder with version name _rev.1.0
When I upload file to hosting with _rev.1.1
I wonder if can I do some redirect or force lastest file to download without changing every URL I uploaded new one.

]]>Hi!
This plugin manages a “unique string” or “token” like the woocommerce?
It works as a protection for the original file URL.
O Woocomerce obriga que a pessoa esteja logada e verificada, mas acontece que eu n?o vou usar Produtos, mas sim CPT para criar as páginas de Download e pré-visualiza??o do arquivo.
I’m creating a subscription site and I want to add the digital file URL to the download button on the product page for those who are logged in.
Similar to artgrid: https://artgrid.io/clip/279578/3d-Animation-Rock-Blue
Or: https://elements.envato.com/
I’ll have much buttons: Download 4k, Download Mobile, Download with Watermark …`
I will explain all my scenario, but before I had one idea:
1 Shortcode Method
With the original external or internal URL:
‘[Download Roles=”Silver, Gold, Platinum” url=”https://www.dropbox.com/s/b08y8jbmirstjoi/tv_hologram%20close%20touch%202_4k.mp4?dl=1″]’
I lap this shortcode on the Custom Field or within the URL field of the elementor.
The link is rendered like this: https://site.com/?Download_File=9353&token=354762145682368
Redirecting to the original URL after validated:
1 – Are you logged in? (if not, ship to page: /login-to-download)
2 – Are you allowed? (if not, send to page: /upgrade-to-%REQUIRED_ROLE%)
3 – All approved: Redirect to the URL inserted into Shortcode:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/b08y8jbmirstjoi/tv_hologram%20close%20touch%202_4k.mp4?dl=1
And who can access this link will only be logged in and with the specified ROLE
My scenario:
Elementor
Jengine (CPT)
Woocommerce
Woocommerce subscriptions (maybe)
PublishPress Capabilities (for Custom Roles)
I do not have printscreen, but I intend to create with jetengine the CPT it creates custom fields, I would use them to put the links of the files …
Any more information required?
Thanks so much for reading so far!
]]>I installed this plugin because I read an article that said it would work for requiring the user to input an email address before download.
I can’t figure out how (or if!) this actually works.
Assistance would be appreciated.
]]>Hi,
Just an idea to be able to make custom work paired with your plugin easier for others to maintain.
I’m currently using the description field of the category as a way to set additional metadata.
Ex:
{
"description": "A hardtype hack",
"link": "/modpage/chrono-trigger-lavos-awakening/",
"image": "/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Lavos.jpg"
}
This works fine for me, as I then can extract the json in code, but I’m not gonna be the only one working with the site and everyone might not find this very user-friendly.
Would there be a reasonable way to add custom meta fields?
Just a feature request, expecting nothing. ??
