When I try to access the Koko page (analytics or settings), it shows a “No permission error.”
I checked the user role capabilities and noticed that the “koko” capabilities are missing. Is there any way to regenerate this? Or, even better, is there a script to use the “default capability” to access the plugin?

We are asking if we buy the paid version will we be able to get daily emails in regards to the stats for that day? Basically a report type which we can get daily and it shows the stats.

]]>There seems to be a problem with the recent update published on 8/16/24. Site stats for the previous version (1.3.10) were accurate, and did not include internal links as “referrals”. After updating to version 1.3.11 the site stats displays page views counts which have doubled over the previous 7 day average page views per day. I validated this against Google Analytics and Jetpack and confirmed the new version of your plugin is counting invalid page views. And the new version is also counting internal links as referrals. Meaning that viewers clicking links to other pages of the website are being counted as external referrers.
I am rolling this back to version 1.3.10 until you get this issue corrected. Please advise when you have corrected this issue and published a new update.

]]>Hi. I run unexpected filechange checkers on my sites, but since installing Koko, they all keep sending me warnings about “pageviews.php” being added or modified. I can go through them all and set it to ignore that file, but I’m wondering if it’s really necessary for that file to be constantly changing?

I am wondering if the plugin is strict about what it counts as a page view. There is, of course, a lot of noise in the logs. I am guessing that the plugin is very strict about what counts as a page view. This is a good thing because it means the data is clean. But do you think it might be overly strict?

Hello, I have a question. In the settings under “Use a cookie to determine unique visitors and page views?” I have entered “No”. I know that returning visitors are also counted under this setting. This primarily means that the numbers could be “too high”, right? Now I have a cookie banner. So my readers can decline or agree. If I track cookies, for example, and the visitor declines, this visitor is not counted or may not be counted. If they agree, they are counted. Here we assume that around 60% are counted. So the figures are actually too low. But what if I don’t track cookies anyway, have the cookie notice, and the visitor now declines or agrees? In this case, doesn’t it matter what the visitor chooses?

]]>Hello, I don’t understand the first number in die report – here 1,212 visitors for 2024 so far. This cannot be correct since there is much more traffic to the site as you can see in the list of visitors per page below in the table.

The Norwegian permaculture site has a for a while now had problems with Koko Analytics only taking stats when I login as an admin. I get this message: There seems to be an issue with your site’s WP Cron configuration that prevents Koko Analytics from automatically processing your statistics. If you’re not sure what this is about, please ask your webhost to look into this.
I contacted the web host about this and they searched for Koko analytics and the error. This came up

]]>Hi, I hope you can help as I actually really like Koko Analytics since it’s so lightweight but I’ve noticed that every time I click on my website’s Facebook page and scroll through the Facebook page (which has links to my website), Koko Analytics counts all of the posts that I’ve scrolled past as page views and individual visitors. So today when I scrolled through 5 Facebook posts it counted me as 5 visitors with 10 page views… Hope you can provide a solution, thanks.

]]>After changing the hosting provider Koko Analytics does not work properly any more. It shows no new visitor data. The old visitor data from the time before the change of the provider are still shown.
The Advanced Cron Manager indicates no task that stays stuck on top of the queue.
The path to functions.php file in the Koko Analytics plugin directory is there, but there is no pageviews.php in the path to the pageviews.php file in uploads directory. A search through all my files did not find the file pageviews.php.
What can be done to make Koko Analytics work again while keeping the old visitor data? Thank you in advance for your help.

I used to find that to be useful at times when comparing months and other periods against each other. Maybe also link each bar in the graph to that day’s analytics? Our repo is clean – we just validated that our files are 100% equal to what was delivered by Koko analytics (and other plugins). So no hack on our side.
