We have a weekly scheduled import. It appears to be duplicating some events. It’s unclear why import fails to identify them as identical to existing events, but on the URL I’ve entered, you can see for instance Habits of Humanism: Mindful Living on February 4, 2023 occurs twice, and both entries refer to the same Meetup event URL. Based on their “event ID” they weren’t imported at the same time, and when I manually initiated the scheduled import just now, it doesn’t seem to have created any further duplicates.
]]>Does this plugin have support for Meet Pro network that owns multiple groups? If not, is it possible to add support? Couldn’t find mention of it on the plugin page nor can I access your IME Pro page right now to look.
For reference, I want to be able to insert the pro network url (in addition to the API keys of course) rather than just one group url, then have the plugin retrieve the events from all the groups under this pro network. I would also like to be able to grab each group’s info ( name, logo and meetup link) or maybe a block or code to spit out a list of the network’s groups and their info. Are these possible in the IME Pro version?

]]>I’m having two problems. First, your latest free version is useless because you’ve removed the ability to import all events from a group — now one can only import a single event at a time. I assume this is a deliberate change to get more people to buy the paid version, but the overall quality of the plugin is so poor, and I so much resent you taking back functionality you’d already released that’s been in there for years, that I’m not inclined to do so. Particularly because you didn’t disclose in your release notes that you were removing this function.
Second, I can no longer connect to the Meetup oAuth. I click the Connect button, and I see the message “Authorized Successfully.” But the text that tells me I need to connect is still there, and the import function doesn’t work, telling me I need to connect first.
So: please roll back to an earlier version that worked, and please restore the “import all” functionality.
]]>Meetup recently changed their API to GraphQL. On 2/1/2022 both of my sites that rely on The Events Calendar – and specifically their Aggregator plug-in for imports – stopped working. I am still waiting on a reply from them, so I started looking for alternatives. I would like to know if your plug-in supports GraphQL at Meetup.
]]>You have action hooks for ime_after_update_em_… and ime_after_create_em_ for all the importers EXCEPT your own event type. Please add those.
Please add filter hooks so we can influence which events your shortcodes and so forth display.

Thanks
This was previously working, but then started giving the message “Please try again after re-connect your account.” and import failed. I went to your Settings tab and cleared the old authorization. The OAuth Key and OAuth Secret were already correctly filled in. I clicked Meetup Authorization: Connect, and this took me to a page on secure.meetup.com that displays the following message:
Invalid Authorization request

]]>I’m evaluating whether this plugin will meet our organization’s needs, and it seems there’s a common use case that’s not addressed.
In two organizations I’m a member of, we have meetings of at least two different types, which we would like to display in different parts of a webpage. For instance, there’s a big regular weekly or monthly event that we want to feature prominently, and everything else. So the “everything else” list should typically not also include the big meeting.
To do this using your plugin’s shortcodes, we would need for all events to have a category. Obviously, to show the one next featured event, it needs to have a category so we use category=”featured” to show only that one. But there’s no shortcode argument to select “uncategorized events”, so all other events must also have a category so we can show a list that excludes the featured event.
But we can’t use the import function to assign this category, because if we select a category during import, it updates the previously imported events and overwrites the category value we manually assigned to “featured”. We then have to go in and manually recategorize those events. This makes it impossible to use your scheduled import, since after each import the website will be broken — not displaying the featured event — until someone goes in to fix it.
We want to be able to set the scheduled import and let it do its thing and not have to do any manual editing of the imported data. For this to happen, we need a way to assign a category automatically during the import process based on the information in the Meetup entry. This could be a test based on tags, or on finding a word in the meeting name, or something else, but it needs to be something the person creating the event in Meetup can do and not have to do anything else.
]]>Hello,
I’d like to be able to edit the look of the Meet Up Events Archive & Post pages, but I can’t seem to find what template they are using?
Any help in the right direction would be helpful.

The import of events has been working like a charm up until the point when we switched to online events (due to Covid). For some reason, the online events are not showing up in the list of imported events.
Please advise.

I have filled out the form at https://docs.xylusthemes.com/docs/import-meetup-events/creating-oauth-consumer/ using the urls provided in the Meetup Import Settings screen. I received a Success! screen at https://secure.meetup.com/meetup_api/oauth_consumers/ but the listing says PENDING. After 2 days, I still have no credentials to paste back into my settings page. What can I do?
]]>Will this plugin continue to function after August 15? I received an email from Meetup stating the following:
You’re receiving this email because you may have recently used Meetup’s API.
This is a reminder that Meetup is changing its API access and that you have until August 15, 2019 to update your integration.
Here are the important details you need to know:
? API Keys will be replaced by OAuth: We will be removing API keys on August 15 and requiring you to authenticate with OAuth.
? Apply for an OAuth consumer at no cost (before August 15): After August 15, only members with an active Meetup Pro subscription will be able to create new OAuth consumers.
? We’re removing API version 2: You will need to switch to API version 3 before August 15. API version 2 will no longer be available, even if you have already applied for an OAuth consumer.
? These changes do not impact the use of the Meetup website or our Android and iOS app.
This update to API access methods will provide a better and more secure experience for all Meetup members. You can find information on our API updates and answers to common questions on our Help Center.
Best,
Meetup
I recently removed all the events from https://www.meetup.com/agilewriterclub/. But when the plugin pulls the events from Meetup, it doesn’t do anything because “Nothing to import.” What I expect it to do is delete all old and future events (I have both “Advanced Synchronization” and “Update existing events” checked).
]]>I don’t want an external link, Is it possible to change the link to my website respective post.
]]>I have updated the import meetup events plugin with the new Meetup OAuth Key and Secret. When I try to connect to my meetup account I get an “Invalid Authorization Request” response. How can I correct this? The meetup import seems to be working despite this but I think this is because I still have the API key in the settings. If I remove the API key and keep the OAuth Key and Secret, the import does not work.
Please advise,
Susan Hicks
When an event is deleted in Meetup, it is not being deleted when updating imports to the site. So we have two events shown.
]]>I have successfully imported all my meetup events but they are being sorted and displayed alphabetically instead of chronologically. How do I fix this?
]]>I am using the Pro version.
When non-member sees the post on the meetup website then there is privacy control. So that only members can view the description and other information.
But when I import the meetups on the website events description, location everything is now public. I do not want the event description or location is visible for non-members on the website.
For me, the best solution is, on click of event title directly redirect to meetup website, that means can we skip the single page option?
Also, is there any option to show the calendar view of the events?
]]>Hi there,
Currently, the events displaying on one page is showing only 10 events per page. Is it possible to increase the number of events.
