Hello,
We recently upgraded some of our servers to php 8.2 and are getting the following error, specifically when working with .svg files
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: abs(): Argument #1 ($num) must be of type int|float, string given in /var/www/sites/edu.uconn.wordpress.production/public_html/wp-content/plugins/image-widget/image-widget.php:183
Part of the issue is that we’re load balancing across four servers, two of which have been upgraded and are erroring, the other two are still running php 7.4 and are fine. So at the moment sometimes image widgets are hitting the older servers and load without issue, other times they’re hitting the 8.2 servers and are throwing a critical error.
I saw this post where it was mentioned that 8.1 is not fully supported, but that was a couple years ago. Is this something on your radar at all?
Thanks,

I would like to add a feature: the possibility of uploading files to imgur and using them in the site library to add them to the article and add them to the favorite image of the article.*
In other words, I prefer to use imgur as a cloud host for photos
These are some of the old additions that used to do such work

Hello all!
Good news,?Image Widget 4.4.9!
As always, we recommend updating and testing on a staging site first to be safe, but it should all be smooth sailing.
Have a great week!

want to add adds and logos in widgets with your plugin: doable?

I’m getting the following error when this plugin is activated on PHP 8.0:

I think it would be a great little performance enhancement to simply add loading=”lazy” to the images output by this widget. As far as I can tell, there’s basically no downside, but when used lower down on a page – especially in a footer – it would often save the visitor from even having to download the image.
Enjoy using this plugin on several nonprofit sites. Is it abandoned? ??
Thanks for this plugin — works very well! I noticed that WordPress is up to 5.5, and your plugin is “tested to 5.2.7”. The plugin also has not been updated in over a year, so some security plugins are now flagging the plugin as potentially “abandoned” and, thus, a security risk. Finally, the “view details” in the WordPress dashboard takes us to a domain name ending in .be, which redirects to a website the events calendar dot com, and that page can’t load. This inability to reach the author’s website is troubling.
So, the question is, is this plugin still supported or now abandoned?

Hi,
is the plugin compliant with WPML? Because I can’t get the image caption text as string in WPML, and I need to get it translated in different languages.
Thanks.
Hi, in general your plugin never really centered images on the widgets … especially when you open the website in smartphone you can really noticing the alignment is not centered … (I have set centered image but…)
Thank you
Hello @aguseo,
Hope you are fine.
I have added some images to my footer via your plugin.
Now I have installed a3 lazy load and I want to exclude them from lazy loading.
For this, I have to add the classes of the images in the footer to the lazy load plugin setting to exclude but in the setting of your plugin, there is no chance to add class.
How can I solve this?
Kind regards,
Rahim
Beginner alert! I had thought that I could directly add this image widget to a page I was working on. When I went to insert a widget, I saw only the WordPress image widgets, which do not have the ability to directly insert links. I verified that I had installed the widget and activated it. What am I doing wrong?
Is the name of this widget ALSO image widget? If not, what should I be looking for?
Or is this widget somehow only available in sidebars, which I am not using on this page?
Thanks in advance.

hi,
today I worked on a customers website, yesterday I installed a letsencrypt-ssl-certificate on that webspace and had to remove an alias from developing, after that all image-urls where broken cause of pointing directly to the old URL.
so today I rebuild the missing logos and after that I noticed that the “green lock”-symbol in firefox was not there any more, instead it shows me “mixed content” error.
after some investigations I noticed, that all image-sources from the image widget where “custom size” was set had only “http” in the src-tag, after changing all back to “full size”, handling the sizes with css and reload in browser the src had https at the beginning and the green lock was back.
maybe this helps you to find a bug?

ok, so…your widget works great, but there IS a but…
in the text/caption BELOW the image in my sidebar, i CAN center the text to the image. HOWEVER, there is a blank to add a TITLE to the TOP of your widget
ISSUE is that this TITLE on top does not accept centering commands via css or html as the bottom one does. Can the TITLE at the TOP of your widget be centered? right now its left justified.
this is how im centering the text UNDER the image:

PICTURE OF THE DAY
Nicholas Cage Diane Lane 1982

After adding a clickable alphabet to the top of my page the option to align new text to centre does not work. It does align left or right.
Adding the alphabet was done in text mode and perhaps I deleted some html causing the problem. Alistair
Hey There!
You may have heard from something called the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) that is n force for every company that collects data from individuals that live in the european union.
I would be really grateful, if you could answer these questions so I could be sure, your plugin is compliant with the GDPR Law.
Thank you very much in advance!
Have a good day,
Nicola
Hello,
I set up my sidebar images using the image widget. I need to edit them, but I can’t figure out how. When I go to Appearance -> Widgets, it only lists widgets from letters A-G, with no option to view more, and the images that I added to by sidebar using the image widget aren’t showing up in the right hand column like they used to. Is there any other way I can navigate to my sidebar images I created using the image widget?
Thanks!
Lauren
