This plugin may work OK right out-of-the-box and “as is”, but if you know you’re looking at the possibility of needing to customize a plugin to get just the right chat feature for your website… this plugin is NOT it. Even if you anticipate only slight modifications, this plugin is NOT for you. For example, you won’t get access to CSS styling as you get with most WP plugins. If you’re not an advanced code writer, you’ll need to hire a developer at extra expense to get what you want. Can’t recommend this plugin because Support is NOT all that helpful. Best advice… skip it!

I really love this plugin, it’s the only one that works and is compatible with buddypress. I’ve never had any issues with the plugin, so never had to reach out to them. Due to the pandemic, however, I had to pause my subscription. They took a day or two to respond to it, but I was able to cancel it. They didn’t put up a fight about it either.
Not saying you should cancel, unless you want to. I’m just saying that when the time comes to put it back up again, then this is the only chat plugin I would use. Love it!

Was happy with the plugin until my trial expired. Tried to contact them to upgrade my account so I could purchase a higher tiered plan – contact form broken. Emailed them. Took 2 days to get a response of them forwarding to someone else to help. Another couple of days go by and nothing.
Found another plugin in meantime so my site could be functional. Liked the other plugin better and its FREE. Support also responded within 15 min!
Emailed iflychat to cancel my upgrade request and they got back to me in 10 min. I really tried to give them my money. but oh well.

I have tried many times to get in contact and get answers from the Arthur. Support tickets are not answered, and if you get hold of the team thru chat they go quiet when you have problems.
The Video part of the plugin or product does not work at all, and there is no help on that part.
There website says they have 10-thousands of clients.. one of them are CocaCola, i doubt that is true!

I’ve tried many chat plugins over the past 8 years. This one is the first that was not only easy to use and manage but the support is actually “available” to help when needed.
Also, people that are questioning or complaining about “support”… It’s generally not needed as plugin simply works. There is really nothing to troubleshoot. And yes, if you need it support is in fact very responsive. My wait time has been under 24 hrs. Weekends may be a bit more. But trust me, these guys know what they are doing…

It is a very fast and seamless installation process, and it has a lot of great features at half the cost of many other companies.
The customer support is excellent.Which is very important to me, especially being a startup business owner.
They installed and customized the chat software on my site at a reasonable price.

I absolutely LOVE this chat while it worked but after 4 years It seems as if support is non-existent. Not good for such an important part of a community site when you have a plugin-related bug.
I moved to the websocket version of “better messages” plugin so it turned out to be a blessing. The chat is at least as good but also ties into the native messaging system better, so you don’t have “chat” separate from the offline private messaging system.

I tried this plugin last year, 2016, and I couldn’t figure it out. This time I activated, added API number (whatever it is), and the chat box popped up with me in it and ready to go! No shortcodes, fees, added sign-in, or setup! Members can chat with each other, not just me.
Perfect for my ESL English BuddyPress site and students. Very exciting!

I installed iflychat, then activated it. Found out I had to get an API key. No problem, right? Well, that page is under construction.
Then I found out that there are prices. I went to check. Oddly, this page is under construction too. I didn’t sign up.
If I don’t know the prices, I will not use this plugin. Important pages of the main site are down.
Heard a lot of good things about this plugin but I will look elsewhere.
