I disabbled all plugin, and the message appear when I enable again Hupso.
Seems I’m the first one to have this issue. Could you telle me if you think Hupso is responsible ?

Hi,

First of all thanks for this cool plugin. We appreciate the time and effort put in to make it happen.

The problem we’re having is that the plugin seems to be changing the default excerpts meta description of the post types where it’s enabled to some random JS code.

I’m sure you’ll find where in the code the issue lies.

Error ceases when plugin is deactivated

In the function sanitize_term($term, $taxonomy, $context = ‘display’)

‘filter’ is an illegal offset in the array $term

Have you given any thought to the GDPR implications of this plugin?

For example, AFAIK, when a page or post loads that contains this plugin a hit is sent to static.hupso.com (for each instance of the share bar) and a cookie is set (name = __utmah).

I see no problem doing this if the visitor CLICKS on a share icon. However, to send data to a third-party on page load only i.e. WITHOUT a visitor click, does require explicit consent from the visitor in order to be GDPR compliant.

I would be interested in your thoughts…

hello is there a way to have a different custom url per post on the share buttons so that the share always points back to the exact page, post or product page?

In your settings, under the custom URL option, it describes: ” Enter custom url that will always be used for sharing. You can enter your root website here so counters will show statistics for your whole website, not for each page individually.”

So if I put in my home page url here, would each page or post then show the facebook like count that is the aggregate of all the current facebook likes accumulates on all the posts combined? And then if later made this field blank again, would the facebook likes on each post or page then revert back to what they were before changing to this option (the one like count for whole site)?

Hi, after the last Wp update on version 4.9.1 I lost the buttons. That mean I can#t see it anymore on my page, at the postings, etc. This happens in the same way on 4! differnt wp pages:

I tried to find out if I find something at “settings” but it seam all correct. And if I make any change in it – nothing happens, the buttons are to to see.

I had the problem of posts such as this one (as a random example) https://www.peacefulparent.com/why-we-explode-and-how-to-prevent-it/ no longer showing the history of facebook likes previously gathered on that post. You’ll notice that it only has 13 likes, but when we look at the http page; https://www.peacefulparent.com/why-we-explode-and-how-to-prevent-it/ , you’ll see that it’s something like 3,500 likes which makes a huge difference not only to the credibility and confidence that’s being conveyed to visitors, but also in terms of google ranking. Is there any way around this problem?

Ive just updated all these and I am still not able to make changes in the settings. I have tried to remove the twitter share button and I have tried to change the twitter handle for the “Twitter Via” field – (this is what I really need to change)

I have tried using Chrome browser and Firefox with the same result. No changes saved.

I guess I need to remove the plugin and replace it?

Any help is appreciated.

I have uses FCH option for the Image for the Facebook thumbnail. some time featured image not getting, the image is displayed as blank. But sometimes it works well.

I uninstall hupso’s old plugin and installed the latest one.
After this, all the category pages has [hupso] after the title.

View source of the page shows as below: (notice [hupso] after header)

It looks like some residual code is there, I tried uninstalling the plugin but that didn’t help.

I just switched my site to HTTPS and in spite of the plugin advert saying that FB likes are preserved, they have not been. Everything is now ZERO.

It’s not the end of the world, but do I actually need to edit something to get them back?

This plugin used to work like a charm, but now it’s gone completely AWOL. Nothing shows up in preview, nothing on pages. Even in default theme Twentyfifteen and all other plugins deactivated: nothing!

Too bad, I’ll be looking for an alternative.

Wherever I include the Hupso buttons, an undesired gap appears between the main page (white background) and the footer area (light grey) of our shop. The background image can be seen through this gap.

My problem is- I have created some tabbed content WordPress page and like to share those specific content in social media. This is a suggestion for a change to your code. This has nothing to do with the functionality, but more to do with valid HTML and SEO.

In your toolbar you create the share buttons in JavaScript. You have a title attribute on the images, but not an ALT attribute.

My suggestion is changing the title to an ALT attribute, and creating a title attribute on the parent <a>.

After WPRockets was installed, Hupso stopped working. I turned off JS cache and that helped.
