Thanks for this plugin, which nicely filled a need on a site we just did recently.
If you are ever going to issue an update, you might want to include the following 2 changes:
1. Updating the plugin to use the latest version of the runtime, from here: https://www.gstatic.com/swiffy/v7.1/runtime.js instead of the version 5 currently used
2. When running with WP_DEBUG turned on on a server running the newer version of PHP, the plugin generates errors about “Notice: has_cap was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 2.0! Usage of user levels by plugins and themes is deprecated. Use roles and capabilities instead.” Changing the line
add_plugins_page("Ayuda HTML5 Swiffy Insert", "HTML5 Swiffy Insert", 10, "plugin_ayuda_wordpress", "pagina_html5_swiffy_insert");
to
add_plugins_page("Ayuda HTML5 Swiffy Insert", "HTML5 Swiffy Insert", "activate_plugins", "plugin_ayuda_wordpress", "pagina_html5_swiffy_insert");
making the reference to capabilities follow current recommendations fixes the problem.
Thanks!
Barry
Hi –
The swiffyobject from my project seems to be double the size of the example on the plugin page. And once I copy it over and try to add it into the value of my custom field, wordpress doesn’t seem to react and it never updates.
Is there a way around this? Maybe to manually place it in a custom field file rather than trying to do it from a post?
I uninstalled and reinstalled just to make sure I wasn’t doing something incorrectly. Thanks for any help!
After installing the “HTML5 Swiffy Insert” plugin on my WordPress 3.8.1 site, I was having the same issues as others until I discovered that the plugin file “html5-swiffy-insert.php” was blank after the install. The fix that worked for me…
Finally!! The swiffy animation plays just like the original swf.
FYI. I converted my swf using google swiffy and the swiffy extension for Flash pro. They both work for me. I hope this fix works for you.
Hi
I tried this plugin
Wordpress strips the code and renders an incomplete version of the animation
My flash file exported as HTML5 (swiffy) pasted into the Value field in Custom fields
named: swiffy_1 – and this code in text: [swiffy n=”1″ w=”900″ h=”885″ v=”5.0″]
Here it is wordpress:
https://sepevents.co.uk.gridhosted.co.uk/swiffy/
What it should look like:
https://sepevents.co.uk.gridhosted.co.uk/bannerloop.swf.html
Can you advise?
Thanks
Julian

Hey Joan,
I am trying to insert swiffy output in a page, following your instructions, and it appears that the pieces are going where they belong – the long piece of script goes in the head, the div with the results of the shortcode goes in the entry content, and the shorter script goes at the bottom, before the “
”. However it’s not showing up on the displayed page.
As per your response to a previous support request, I turned off all plugins except this one, and it still does not appear.
I have tried it just in a regular html page and the swiffy works fine.
If you’d please take a look, see: https://jillweltlifetransformations.com.
If this doesn’t work with 3.5.1 how about telling us?

Many thanks,

Hi,
I’m having the same problem as marsch_z and bossehund. I have no other plugin installed, and tried different themes, right now with boilerplate just to make it easy to html5. It doesn’t work anyway, it creates the space but doesn’t animate.
I don’t think it’s something about other plugins or themes, because I tried to run the example in the “How to work with HTML5 Swiffy Insert” page and it worked correctly. It may be some incompatibility between the google swiffy generated code and the plugin.
Any idea?
thanks

I have problems with the plugin. sorry for my english..I installed the plugin HTML5 swiffy Insert, but don’t show the html5 script generated in swiffy in my wordpress page.
I use this shortcode: [swiffy n=”1″ w=”970″ h=”400″] and the code generated by swiffy { code swiffy.. … }; in the custom fields and not work. that may be failing? the space is generated (height and width) but i can’t see in the page..
thanks for your quick response..
