Thank you to the author for bringing out a plugin for Gallery 3, I appreciate it. Unfortunately, for me this plugin was too slow to be usable. I have the gallery on the same domain on the same server and using this plugin, it was extremely slow to pull in images from gallery 3.
I opted instead for the WP Gallery 3 plugin which does not have any performance problems, but does appear to have less functionality.

I used wpg2 to integrate my gallery and personal blog for several years.
After gallery3 became mainstream I’ve been waiting for a wpg2 “upgrade” to support gallery3 but for many reasons that is not going to happen. I took the plunge and decided to rebuild my wordpress/gallery installation using Heiv’s plugin. It integrates with gallery using the new REST API and it “just works”.
The functionality goes above and beyond wpg2 for adding pictures and albums in posts, supporting carousel-style integrations (although it doesn’t allow you to have the full of your gallery inside a wordpress page, like wpg2 apparently used to do – I never used that feature though).
The developer is very responsive to questions and requests. Kudos to him for his efforts and quality work!

Works good with my Gallery site, of course as soon as I got it working I wanted to do more with display options in WP. However I can see it is very useful for me in the future.

Incredibly frustrated over the lack of understandable instructions. May have ruined my Gallery3 Installation trying to get this thing to access it.
