the plugin works fine as it is. I’m just wondering, in every article I set how the table of contents should look like.
What if one day I want to change the style of my website? Do I have to go to every post and change the GutenTOC settings?
Other plugins have a settings options and when I change them, the settings for all my TOC adapt. Is this also possible with GutenTOC?
That’s actually the only issue that is holding me back at the moment.

I have a site which uses another TOC plugin and the TOC is displayed in the sidebar. It’s used this way so I can make it sticky when the reader scrolls down the page.
I’ve installed your plugin on a new site with the same theme as my other site however your TOc doesn’t display the correctly. It only shows the TOC heading with [show} and when you click show nothing shows?
Can you test installing your TOC in a sidebar and help me get this working correctly.

Do you think it is a possibility to add an option where people can change the text ‘Table of Content’? – so people in other countries can translate it to their version? So, for example Dutch people can translate it to: ‘Inhoudsopgave’.

When this plugin is active it is loading 5 additional stylesheets on the front end that should only be loading in the dashboard for use by the block editor.

The block “gutentoc/table-of-contents” is registered with an invalid category “gutentoc”.
And after saving page and reloading we get a blank page. No errors in debug.log.

Just one issue; clicking on the link takes you below the heading. I believe this is due to having sticky header / navigation active.
Is there any way to offset eg so anchor position is Xpx above the heading? Or somehow take sticky header settings into account?

It would be amazing if there was a way to exclude individual items from the TOC. Or if the TOC will only include items below where the TOC is placed. It’s strange to link to headings that are above the table.

Since we updated the WordPress version to 5.5 we’re seeing this error when we try to edit older posts that have a Table Of Content already:
“This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.” and we can’t see the block.
For new posts is working fine.
Looking into the browser console we can see this error:

]]>I have a blog post that starts with an H4 heading tag. My problem is the succeeding heading tags(H1 to H3) are not displayed in the table of contents.
Is there a way to show H1,H2,H3 heading tags even if the blog post starts with a lower level heading tag such as H4?

I managed to get this working on my post but only after having to change all my heading blocks. It appears that this plugin doesn’t work with third party blocks. I had been using the Getwid Advanced Heading block with all heading set to H2 or H3 but nothing showed in the index. After changing all heading to the core heading block it worked fine.
Did I miss a switch or something? Are there plans to add support for third-party blocks?

Hi! I just started using your plugin, love it so far, is possible fo you to make it compatible with AMP?
I made it myself removing this line:
wp_register_script( ‘gutentocjs’, plugin_dir_url( __FILE__ ) .’dist/toc.js’,array(‘jquery’), ”, true);
Since AMP can’t load any external script, you could make a setting for AMP, that doesn’t load any js in the front-end.
