Hello
I’m getting Soft 404 on Webmaster, how do I solve it for my webmaster, MotorOctane.com
]]>Hi
I instald and activated the google xml sitemap plugin from WP dashboard>plugin menu
in WP dashboard can’t find the sitemap plagin’s options page
It is not under ‘Settings’ and can’t see anywhere else.
Why? and Where can I find it?
I do have the sitemap folder on the server – in the themes plugin folder.
on my websit/sitemapxml page this error message appears:
XML Parsing error: wrong formatting (not cerrectly formatted)
Hely: https://www.starsandlightsbp.com/sitemap.xml
Row 11., Column 71.: <loc>https://www.starsandlightsbp.com/?post_type=wpcf7_contact_form&p=369</loc>
On google search consol this error message is displayed:
Parsing error – We were unable to read your Sitemap. It may contain an entry we are unable to recognize. Please validate your Sitemap before resubmitting.
Hi,
This plugin has put the bot meta tag “noindex, follow” on every page of my site so bots will not index any pages on the whole site. How can I change the meta tag so I can get my site back on google again?
I get an error on the sitemap.xml when I have Contact Form 7 enabled. How can I work around this without deleting Contact Form 7?
]]>Hi! Thank you for the great plugin. I have a simple question (I think) but I can’t find the answer. When we first launched this site we had a number of “test” pages included. After launch, we deleted those temporary pages but I can’t get them removed from the sitemap: https://www.diamondlawn.com/sitemap.xml
and they keep coming up in Google searches. How can I fresh the sitemap or rebuild it so those pages no longer show? When you look at the sitemap, most of those deleted pages are dated 2013-12-07 18:09 and prior. Thanks so much for your help!
Hi,
I want to include a link like “Site Map” in navigation menu of my site.
This should open up a page on my website, having a tree like structure of links on my website. A human readable sitemap.
Is this feature available in google xml sitemap?
]]>I have downloaded and installed Google XML Sitemap By Cor van Noorloos via the Network Admin > Plugins. It shows in the dashboard and in the folder: wp-content\plugins, but when i go to my site to enable / use the plugin, it doesnt show up at all. Please advise.
]]>Hi,
I installed and activated the Google sitemap plugin. But where can I see it and how can I change it? I went to the developers page and it says to go to https://yourdomain.tld/sitemap.xml
after activating. If I insert my domain, then google can’t find the site.
Thanks for any help,
Irina
In the current version of the plugin, if you are using built in wordpress menus (/wp-admin/nav-menus.php) these are also included in the sitemap.xml. This is because some menu items are stored as published rows in the wp_posts table.
Add this as new row 37 to fix:
AND post_type != 'nav_menu_item'
This page contains the following errors:
error on line 11 at column 62: EntityRef: expecting ‘;’
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

]]>I am getting the following XML Validation error:
error on line 2 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document
The cause appears to be that there are 1 or 2 line breaks appearing before the XML declaration.
Any ideas how to prevent this from happening so that the XML is property validated by crawlers?
Thanks!
]]>I installed your plugin and went to check the sitemap and it contains this error:
XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: https://claystudiotour.com/sitemap.xml
Line Number 11, Column 56: <loc>https://claystudiotour.com/?post_type=_pods_pod&p=563</loc>

Can you tell me what is causing this?
]]>I have installed this sitemap plugin by
corvannoorloos but when I upload the txt file to google is says:
We were unable to read your Sitemap. It may contain an entry we are unable to recognize. Please validate your Sitemap before resubmitting.
How do I solve this?
Thanks
]]>I have installed this plugin before without issue. However, I have a fresh install, and after activating this plugin, the edit screen is not available under ‘Settings’.
I am using a custom theme, so I have taken the usual steps of deactivating all plugins and reverting to TwentyEleven theme, but when activating the Google XML Sitemap plugin ONLY, I still get no edit screen.
When I visit the URL (mysitename/sitemap.xml) I get an unstyled (but accurate) listing of all pages – even though the xml file doesn’t appear to be present in my root directory.
What else can I try – have I forgotten to do something? I assume it’s an issue at my end – this is always such a reliable plugin.
Cheers.
